That is a lot going on for this month! Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew. We have an interesting sketch for you this week…

PCCCS061 10-02-2013

I will definitely admit that when I first saw the sketch I was a little unsure of what I was going to do. Eventually I finally settled on a vintagey card! The base of today’s card is Pear Pizzaz Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper Pack. The two flags are Basic Gray and Coastal Cabana. For the main stamped image I used the Tea Party Stamp Set. I stamped the large image in Crushed Curry and Wisteria Wonder and cut them both out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. The Wisteria one is then trimmed with my Paper Snips. The collection of teapot and cups is from the same set and I markered it with my Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker and then cut that out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them all to the card. The little tags are punched out with the “Vintage” Jewelry Tag Punch and the friends is from the “Vintage” Tiny Tags Stamp Set. To adhere them and the button I used some Multi-Purpose Glue. I really like the mix of all of the colors in the Afternoon Picnic DSP and I have to admit that markering and fussy cutting the teapot and cups was fun! Issues, I know! LOL! Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the design teams creations and enter you masterpiece in the gallery! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 60

Wednesday already! This week is moving along at a nice pace! Work was loads of fun today as the network was down for most of the day which makes for a very non-productive time. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous here for the past couple of days and is supposed to stay like this through the weekend. On a happy note I finally finished the third Hunger Games book. I think I started reading it 8 months ago. My flight over the weekend prompted me to finish it and I have to say it was pretty good. I use to read all the time but there is just not enough time to in the day as it is and to add one more thing, well, you know how it goes!

Before we get to today’s post I wanted to let you know that Stampin’ Up! has released another Photopolymer Stamp Set just in time for Halloween called Bite Me. It has some great images and a really cool spider web. You can see the flyer below or click here for a PDF.

Flyer_photopolymer_Bite_Sept20_NA

Now for today’s post that is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week’s sketch has an interesting layout…

PCCCS060 9-25-2013

I decided on a Holiday card that is very non-tradiotional in it’s colors, so unlike me huh?! The base of the card is Pool Party Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack on top and a piece of Midnight Muse on the bottom. Before I adhered it to the base I used some Sticky Strip to adhere a piece of Midnight Muse 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon across the seam. The greeting is from the Joy to the World Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Midnight muse and is backed with a piece of Pool Party. For the small ornaments I stamped two from the Very Merry Tags Stamp Set in Pool Party and punched them out with the Mosaic Punch. The large ornament is from the Christmas Collectibles Stamp Set, stamped in Pool Party and Punched out with the Christmas Ornament Punch. The very merry is punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. All of the elements and greeting are adhered with Stampin’ DImensionals. Three Basic Jewels Rhinestones give the card a little sparkle and finish it off nicely. I really like the colors, they are a bit patriotic but fun for a Holiday card! Thanks very much for dropping by today to see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch. Don’t forget to stop by the blog and see the other inspiration from the Design Team and enter yours in the gallery! Here’s to wishing you a fun filled Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 59

Hello peeps! How are you all doing today? I’m good because it’s Wednesday and tomorrow is my Friday! It was chilly here yesterday, only got up to 68 degrees. They say we are to be back in the 80’s by the weekend so just a little taste of what’s to come weather wise. I have lot’s to do before my departure so I will be a busy boy this evening!

Wednesday also means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS059 9-18-2013

I inked up a new set for this one! The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. For the background on both the large square on top and the small squares along the bottom I used some Brushed Gold. The pretty poinsettia is from the Joyful Christmas Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Cherry Cobbler. The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzaz on Pear Pizzaz and the little dots in the center are punched out with the Cupcake Builder Punch. The ribbon is Pear Pizzaz 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon with a Antique Brad on the left. The joy is stamped in Cherry Cobbler from the A Banner Christmas Stamp Set and cut out with my Paper Snips. I really love the Brushed Gold with the Cherry Cobbler, it gives the card a rich look and I don’t think I have actually used the Cupcake Builder Punch to make a cupcake in a while! I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge. Make sure to go over to the blog to see my fellow design team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery. Thank you for visiting and have a good day my friends! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 58

Wednesday, the halfway mark! Yeah! Work was super busy yesterday, we have lots going on and never quite enough time to finish it. The weather was warm and humid and it’s supposed to get up in the 90’s today. Summer isn’t quite finished yet, which I’m definitely not complaining about. I’m not a huge fan of winter. I was just saying to a friend the other night that if I never saw snow again I would be fine with that. I envy you Floridians! 🙂

Wednesday also means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch…

PCCCS058 9-11-2013

I will tell you that I was stumped when I saw all those little circles but after spending some quality browsing time with my stamps I felt a little better. The base of my card is Chocolate Chip Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack for the lower half and the top is a piece of Crumb Cake. Some Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine goes around the middle and is tied in a bow before I adhered it to the base. Two more pieces of the DSP are flagged and placed behind the greeting which is from the Joy to the World Stamp Set and is stamped in Chocolate Chip and cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. The presents are from the Wishing You Stamp Set and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler, Baked Brown Sugar and Old Olive. Some Paper Snip action separates them and they are adhered to a piece of Crumb Cake and then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think the little cluster of gifts does a nice job representing the circles and I like the fact that red and green are kept to a minimum! Thanks very much for taking some time out of your day to stop by and see my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. The blog will have some more inspiration for you so you can add your project to the gallery. Have a very enjoyable Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 57

Wow! Wednesday already! Missing that Monday is just the best isn’t it? I had a nice day at work today, got a lot checked off my to-do list. Came home and tinkered at the craft desk for a bit. I got a lot of my stuff done over the weekend so it’s nice to just sit and mess around with ideas and see what happens. I do end up with lots of pieces, but they will eventually make it on to something. The weather here was rainy and overcast with some humidity thrown in for good measure. Last night it started to feel a little more pleasant, we might even be able to have the windows open again!

Today, being Wednesday, means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge. This week we have a tilted sketch for you…

PCCCS057 9-04-2013

I kept pretty true to the sketch this time, just changing up the main shape a bit. The base of the card is Pool Party Card Stock, I left it plain so the middle panel would really stand out. Speaking of the middle panel, The top half is a piece of Pear Pizzaz stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set in Pear Pizzaz. My World Map Stamp is stamped in Pear Pizzaz for the bottom half and across the middle is some Baked Brown Sugar that I cut with the new Stampin’ Rotary Trimmer and the Small Scallop Blade. I mounted it all to a piece of Baked Brown Sugar.  A little piece of Pool Party that I flagged and stamped with the Notable Notions Stamp Set is tucked under the scallop. The main images are from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set. The top one is stamped in Pool Party and punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. The bottom one is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. Two “Vintage” 3/16″ Metallic Brads are on either side. A very Vintage Designer Button with some Pool Party Card Stock threaded through and three Subtles Candy Dots complete the card. I really love the World Map Stamp and the colors on the card are really neat. Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog to see the projects my teammates have come up with. Don’t forget to enter one of your creations in the gallery too! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Paper Craft Crew 56

Good morning, or good evening, depending on what part of the world you’re in. It’s Wednesday and that’s always a good thing because it means we’re halfway through the work week! To all my Aussies, I’m jealous, you’re almost into Thursday already! My boss at work told me today that she’s going away for a vacation for the first time in 3 years. She’s going to Secrets in Montego Bay, so I of course looked it up; it looks like a beautiful place to go. I will be taking a little trip in September but I can’t share all of the details with you just yet… it’s a surprise ;-).

For today’s post I have my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS056 8-28-2013

The base of the card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. The background consists of a piece of Soft Suede and a piece of Crumb Cake that are stamped in Soft Suede with the Woodgrain Background Stamp. To hide the seam I used a piece of Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. The collage of flowers in the middle starts off with a piece of Soft Sky cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. The flowers and leaves are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. I used my Stampin’ Write Markers in coordinating colors to darken some of the petals on the flowers. The middles of the flowers are So Saffron punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I added a couple of dots on each one with my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker for a little texture. The greeting is from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch. A little piece of Primrose Petals is flagged and tucked behind. I like the collage effect of the flowers and we all know that I love the Woodgrain Background Stamp! Thank you so much for stopping by to see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog to see what my fellow Design Team members have for your inspiration and enter one of your cards in the gallery so we can see your take on the sketch challenge! Hello peeps! Welcome to Wednesday! How is your week going so far? Mine is super busy, between work and home I need a few more hours in the day please! Thanks for the comments on the Control Freaks Blog Tour from yesterday! I’m so happy that you enjoyed the projects, they were a lot of fun to make. I also saw that Stampin’ Up! repinned my one layer card from Monday! Woo hoo! That was a very nice surprise. 🙂

I almost forgot to tell you about the new Photopolymer Stamp Set that was recently released by Stampin’ Up! It’s called Another Thank You and it has some really great thank you’s in it. There is also this really cool one that covers a whole card front! You can see it below and If you want a PDF click here.

In addition to the new Photopolymer Set we have some new SIngle Stamps for the Holidays. There are eight including some that coordinate with Punches and Framelits along with a large star that I think is really cool! You can see the flyer below and click here for a PDF of it.

Today I have my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS055 8-21-2013

I’m liking the slightly askew look lately. You would think it would be easier that putting things on straight but I don’t find that to be the case! The base of my card is Garden Green Card Stock. I inked up the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with my Brayer and some Smoky Slate Ink. After I ran it through the Big Shot it had a really nice weathered look to it. The main panel is the Dictionary Background Stamp stamped in Smoky Slate and backed with a piece of Garden Green. I stamped the coffee cup from the Perfect Blend Stamp Set in Garden Green and cut it and the sleeve that is stamped in Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder out. The ticket is from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set and is also heat embossed and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. The little corner is punched out with the “Vintage” Photo Corner Punch. All of the elements are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three Regals Candy Dots complete the card. I really love the way the inked embossing turned out and will definitely do that again! Thank you so very much for taking some time to come by and see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch. Head on over to the blog and see what my other teammates have done. Don’t forget to enter one of your creations for us to see! Have a very enjoyable Wednesday!

Ahh Wednesday! I like to think of Wednesday as the crest of the hill, now we are just sliding into Friday! Well, we didn’t get the torrential rain out here on Long Island like they said we would. It did rain here and there during the day and after 11:00 last night but not for very long. We are now going to start a stretch of lovely weather again! Yeah! Work was definitely much better today, it was actually pleasant! How are things going by you? Hope all is well!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week we have a nice sketch for you…

PCCCS054 8-14-2013

I deviated slightly from the sketch but kept the layout the same. The base of the card is Pool Party Card Stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake and cut the middle out with the Oval Collection Framelits Dies and put a piece of Window Sheet over it. Some Epic Day This & That Designer Series Paper is adhered to the card base and the Crumb Cake piece is adhered over it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut the YOU out with the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies from Calypso Coral and they too are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the One in a Million Stamp Set and is markered in Calypso Coral. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to put them next to each other. A thin sliver of the Epic Day This & That DSP is under that. I really like the way the YOU floats over the DSP and the colors are nice and soft. Thanks for checking out my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. Don’t forget to visit the blog to see what my teammates have come up with and enter your card so we can see your creative take! I hope that you enjoy your Wednesday! 🙂

Catherine & Cathy Create 5 & Paper Craft Crew 53

Yes, you have read the title correctly. I have two Design Team Cards to post today so I have combined them into one post. I didn’t think that you would appreciate getting two emails from me today! Wednesday is my usual day to post my Paper Craft Crew card but Catherine & Cathy had a fun in the Garden challenge and I needed to play with my new Thinlits! You understand right?!?! I will also resume posting my Display Projects tomorrow as I thought three cards in one day was a little too much! On a side note, because you also know how I love to chat about the weather it was another beautiful day here today but they are saying definitely thundershowers tomorrow. Now we can get on to the business at hand!

Oh, one last thing before we get to the cards, I want to wish my friend Carolyn in Australia a very Happy Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day!

My first card is my Catherine & Cathy Create Design Team card for this week’s In the Garden challenge…

CCC Challenge General Logo

I could not wait to play with the new Thinlits Card Dies! I wanted to make a project similar to the one that Shelli showed us at Convention. The base of the card is Pear Pizzaz Card Stock. I used the Label Card Thilits Dies to cut it out and left the card stock out of the one side to make the card longer so I could fold over the right side. The paper is Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper and I used the label that comes with the Thinlits to cut it so it lined up with the label on the card. The cut out greeting and the banner is also from the Thinlits set. I used the negative on the outside and the cut out on the inside. To hook the front I stamped a piece of Whisper White with the Paper Pumpkin Honeycomb Stamp in Crushed Curry and  cut out a piece of Crushed Curry with the Ovals Collection Framelits to back it. The bee is from the the Backyard Basics Stamp Set and is cut out with the coordinating Framelits. On the inside are two flowers from the Secret Garden Stamp Set cut out with their matching Framelits. The banner is created using some Whisper White Bakers Twine. I stamped the images from the Postage Collection Host(ess) Stamp Set and punched them out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. They are folded in half and strung across the bakers twine which is held to the card with two 3/4″ Circles. I LOVE the new Thinlits and can’t wait to see what other cool ways there are to use them! Head on over the the Catherine & Cathy Create blog to see inspiration from the other designers and add your card too!

Now for my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew

PCCCS053 7-31-2013

A nice simple sketch that just called for some print style paper. The base of the card is Costal Cabana Card Stock. I used a piece of Wisteria Wonder for a base to put my strips of Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper on for my background. A piece of “Vintage” Basic Gray 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon goes around the lower middle of the card. The greeting is from the Tea Party Stamp Set and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and cut out with my Paper Snips. I backed it with a piece of Costal Cabana that I cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. A fun simple card with a cool color combo. Head on over to the Paper Craft Crew blog to see the Design Team inspiration and enter your card in the gallery. Thank you so much for indulging me with my double DT post today. I hope you are inspired by the projects and that you enjoy your day!

Paper Craft Crew 52, CCMC 261 & Display Project 4

Happy Wednesday! We are halfway through the week! Dinner last night was very nice. We went to a mexican restaurant called Cara Cara in Farmingdale. The food was delicious and the company was great. I work with a very nice bunch of people and for that I am grateful! The weather around here has been very pleasant these past few days. Warm during the day and cooling off at night. I realized this morning I’m getting a little behind with my posts and that I hadn’t done my Create with Connie and Mary entry which closes today. So I have my CReate with Connie and Mary card and my Display Stamper project number 4 at the end of the post too!

Today’s main post is for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch 52…

PCCCS052 7-24-2013

I used some newly acquired Designer Series Paper and I’m loving the colors in it! The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the background is a piece of Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper. I also used some for one of the double ended flagged pieces, the other is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. The image is from the Cycle Celebration Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay, I backed it with a piece of Gumball Green and a thin strip of Summer Starfruit goes across the top. The greeting is from the A Round Array Stamp Set and I stamped it in Summer Starfruit and Bermuda Bay. The Summer Starfruit one is punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and backed with a piece of Bermuda Bay that I punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The middle of the Bermuda Bay one is cut out with the smallest of the Circle Collection Framelits Dies. I really do love the colors in the DSP and the bicycle is pretty neat too. Thank you for stopping by today to see my Paper Craft Crew Design Team Card for this week’s sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog to check out the other design team member’s projects and enter yours in the gallery. Scroll down to see my Create with Connie and Mary card and the fourth Display project. Sorry for the lengthy post! I hope you have an enjoyable day! 🙂

CCMC 261

When I saw the sketch I thought Paper-Piercing and then I thought let’s mix it up! The base of the card is Old Olive Card Stock. The main panel is a piece paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack*. I punched a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper with the Scallop Edge Border Punch and adhered it on the left side. For the greeting I stamped an image from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set* in Baked Brown Sugar and punched it out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. Around that is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I punched out with the 2 3/4″ Scallop Circle punch and cut the middle out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies. The ornaments is from the Christmas Collectibles Stamp Set* and is punched out with the Christmas Ornament Punch*. A nice fun traditional color card with some sparkle!
