Good morning, or good evening, depending on what part of the world you’re in. It’s Wednesday and that’s always a good thing because it means we’re halfway through the work week! To all my Aussies, I’m jealous, you’re almost into Thursday already! My boss at work told me today that she’s going away for a vacation for the first time in 3 years. She’s going to Secrets in Montego Bay, so I of course looked it up; it looks like a beautiful place to go. I will be taking a little trip in September but I can’t share all of the details with you just yet… it’s a surprise ;-).
For today’s post I have my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge…
The base of the card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. The background consists of a piece of Soft Suede and a piece of Crumb Cake that are stamped in Soft Suede with the Woodgrain Background Stamp. To hide the seam I used a piece of Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. The collage of flowers in the middle starts off with a piece of Soft Sky cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. The flowers and leaves are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. I used my Stampin’ Write Markers in coordinating colors to darken some of the petals on the flowers. The middles of the flowers are So Saffron punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I added a couple of dots on each one with my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker for a little texture. The greeting is from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch. A little piece of Primrose Petals is flagged and tucked behind. I like the collage effect of the flowers and we all know that I love the Woodgrain Background Stamp!
