Happy Friday!! Woo hoo!! I loves me some Friday! I’m so glad that the week is over. I’m also super happy that I get my new catalog pre-order goodies later. It’s also my friend Anthony’s birthday tomorrow and we will be headed out to Ruby Tuesday’s for dinner later. I’m going to be mean and make them sing to him! LOL! Tomorrow morning I’m off to Manhattan to see my buddy Kim. It’s supposed to be nice so we are going to wander around and hopefully get some Mediterranean food for lunch. Yum!

    Today’s post – Fab Friday 17 sketch…

    Fab Fri 17 Sketch 4-25-2013

I do love a tag as we all know and the flagged piece is an added bonus! The base of my card is Island Indigo and the paper for the background and the panel is from the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper Pack. The stamped images are all form the You’re Amazing Stamp Set except for Friend which is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set. The tag is created with my Simply Scored and I used a Sponge Dauber with Island Indigo to ink up the edges. Some tiny staples hold the little tickets to the panel and the brad is a “Vintage” Star Brad. I love the World Spectacular Product suite and am happy that the stamp set carried over. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge. Stop by the blog to see what the other designers have come up with and don’t forget create your own and upload it to the gallery. Thank you so much for visiting with me, I hope you have a Fab Friday! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches #83

Good day! How are you doing? I’m ok, that was a long day yesterday. I got about 4 1/2 hours of sleep and I’m pooped! The weather was nice for about two hours and then we were back to it feeling like February! I got my Sneak Peek 2014 Catalog order in and my goodies will be here Friday! Woo hoo! That means I can play over the weekend. I can’t wait! There is so much in the new catalog that I love, I will miss the retiring supplies and stamp sets but it happens every year and I’m used to it by now.

I’m really liking the Epic Day This and That products. They have some great colors and patterns. The base of my card is Crumb Cake with a piece of Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper for the background. Across the middle is a piece of Whisper White with some Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. Some Basic Gray is embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped off the words on a diagonal from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set in Crumb Cake. The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and are punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. I used my Bone Folder and the Stampin’ Pierce Mat to curve the wings. I hope that you enjoyed my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you have a lovely day!

    PCCCS039 Sketch Mother's Day 4-24-2013

There is a theme to go along with this one too, Mother’s Day. The base of my card is Early Espresso and the background is a piece of Tea for Two Designer Series Paper. Another piece of the DSP is backed with some So Saffron across the middle. Some Pretty in Pink is punched out with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. The stamped image is from the Best of Flowers Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black and colored in with my Stampin’ Write Markers. For the greeting I inked up a stamp from the Family Reunion Stamp Set in Early Espresso and punched it out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and backed with a piece of Calypso Coral punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. A Vintage Brad completes the card. I hope that you like my Design Team card Mother’s Day card fro this weeks Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. Well, I see we all made through Monday in one piece, and that’s always a good thing! My Monday was on the quiet side, how about you? So tomorrow holds a little excitement for us Stampin’ Up! Demos, we get to see the brand new 2013-2014 Catalog! It promises to be amazing as always with some old and some new goodies to help us express our creativity and Make Something that Means Something! I can’t wait!!

Today’s card – Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 290, a sketch from Carole Burrage…

    Mojo290

I wanted a simple card with a nice focal point of stamping. The base of my card is Primrose Petals  and the background is a piece of Very Vanilla. The bottom half has some paper from the More Amore Designer Series Paper Pack. The stamped images are from the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set, the flowers are Two-Step Stamped in Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple and the leaves in Gumball Green and Garden Green. I used my Simply Scored to create the lines and rubbed some Crumb Cake on them to give them some definition. Some Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon goes across the middle and I fussy cut a set of the leaves and used a Naturals Designer Button with some Linen Thread on top. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is punched out with the Word Window Punch. I hope you enjoyed your little visit with my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge Card. Thank you for coming to see what I’m up to and I hope you have a great day!

  • Pals Paper Arts 157

As always the weekend just flew by. It was a good weekend though. My daughter was here with me all weekend and I got some projects finished. Lots of running around too! Busy but good. How about you? Did you do anything crafty this weekend? I’m hoping this week goes nice and smoothly, we’ll see! Before I get to today’s post I wanted to thank Dawn for choosing my card in the last Pals Paper Arts challenge! In some more cool news my Especially for You card for the Control Freaks April Blog Tour is a Clean and Simple Favorite over on SplitCoast Stampers!!

    Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 157 a sketch from Margaret Moody…

    PPA 157

I did a card with a frame last week and I really liked the way it turned out so I decided to incorporate another one in today’s card. The base of my card is Real Red and the background and all of the paper is from the Sent with Love Designer Series Paper Pack. The frame is created using the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and is also used to cut out the background which is embossed with the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the plane, from the Sent with Lover Stamp Set, in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it using Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some fussy cutting and Stampin’ Dimensionals later and the frame is done. The greeting is from the same set and finishes off the card. I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts Card for the sketch challenge. Thank  you for spending some quality time with me today. I hope your Monday is painless!

  • Paper Players #142 🙂

Good day everyone. Sunday, I love you because you are part of the weekend but you also mean that the weekend is almost over. Sigh. Anyway, how is your weekend so far? Mine is pretty good. It was relatively nice here yesterday, got a haircut, had some lunch, had some 16 Handles! I also got some crafting done which always makes me happy! It’s Sunday so that means it’s Paper Players time!

Today’s post – Paper Players #142, a CAS single layer card from Jaydee…

Paper Players 142 One Layer 4-21-2013

A single layer card can be fun, but also challenging. It really is nice to just use some stamps and ink to create a card, but embellishments are fun too. There are ways to give it a little depth as I did on my card. The base of the card is Whisper White. The images are from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set. The Thanks is stamped once in Crumb Cake and again in Midnight Muse to give it a shadow effect. The Stamp-a-ma-jig makes it easy to do. The water spots are from the first Paper Pumpkin Kit and are stamped off once. CAS and only one layer! I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Players One Layer Card for this week’s challenge from Jaydee and that you are inspired to create your own. You can see what the rest of my fellow designers have for you by visiting the blog. Don’t forget to enter one of your cards in the gallery. You could be next week’s Cut Above or even Make the Headlines! Thank you for visiting with me and I hope that you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  • Control Freaks April Blog Tour!

    freakwelcome

Hello and welcome to the April Edition of the Control Freaks Blog Tour! How awesome is it that it’s a Friday too! Our theme for this month’s tour is birthday’s! Definitely one of my favorite types of projects to make! If you are following the tour that means that you have arrived here for the fabulous LeeAnn Greff’s blog. She always has some pretty great projects to share with you doesn’t she?!?!

For this month’s tour I have three projects to share with you, two cards and a 3D project. I also kept the colors the same on all three projects so that even though they are different the still have a cohesive style. So without further ado lets get started!

My first card is created with our new Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamps. I got the cool idea for the background from a video on the Demonstrator site. The base of the card is Whisper White. My piece of Pool Party get it’s cool triangle pattern from the flags stamp in the set and because it’s clear it made stamping the pattern super easy. Down the left side is some Calypso Coral punched with the Scallop Border Punch. The arrows are also form the Designer Typeset Stamp Set and the circles are made with some circle punches. A regular little paper clip with some Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon tied around it gives it a much better look than the clip alone. A nice simple geometric card that without the ribbon would work great for anyone!

    Control Freaks PP Card

My second card is something new that I have been experimenting with lately. I printed out the embellishments from My Digital Studio and cut them out. I used the Sent with Love Digital Kit which is also one of my favorite actual stamp sets and DSP. The background is adhered with SNAIL and the tag and plane are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The silver “sequins” are something that I found in a drawer, they weren’t in a package so I don’t know where they came from but I thought they were a neat addition. MDS can be a fun way to make a quick card.

    Control Freaks MDS Hybrid Card

For my last project I made some paper lanterns. They would look quite nice hung up for a little birthday celebration. The lanterns are simple paper ones that I picked up from a local craft store. I used the Bitty Butterfly punch and the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to embellish them. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones give them some bling. I used some of the In-Color Ruffled Ribbon hung from the bottom to make them extra festive! You can also use Christmas lights to light them up.

    Control Freaks Laterns

    Control Freaks Lantern

I hope that you enjoyed my cards and lanterns for the April Control Freaks Blog Tour. Up next is the super talented Dawn Olchefske. I’ll bet you can’t wait to see what neat goodies she has for you! Thank you so much for stopping on the tour with me and I hope that you enjoy the rest of the tour!

  • Create with Connie and Mary 248

Hello Friday… I have been waiting for you all week! How are we all doing today? You know that I’m good! I had fun at my Workshop last nigh with my friends Melissa, Crystal and Corrine. Thank you for a nice evening. It wasn’t a bad day here either yesterday but it’s a little foggy this morning. We are supposed to get up into the high 70’s today. What are you all up to for the weekend? I’ll be crafting! 🙂

Today’s card – Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge

    CCMC 248

I felt the urge for some pinstripes! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Neutrals Collection Designer Series Paper. The flowers and leaves are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. A piece of Midnight Muse makes the frame that is cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. The greeting is from the Lacy and Lovely Stamp Set and is cut out with the same. Some piercing around the edge with the Occasion Paper-Piercing Pack highlights the greeting nicely. I hope that you enjoyed my Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge card for this week. Thanks for checking in and I hope that you all have a great Friday! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches #82

Hello there! Thank you so much for taking some time to visit with me today. I always appreciate you stopping by! Let’s see, work was not fun yesterday but the weather was gorgeous! It was definitely a top down kind of day and I did just that right after work. It is supposed to get cooler and rain again late today but I do enjoy the little tastes of warmer days. I have my workshop tonight and everything is cut and ready to go. I really am looking forward to it, I do love to share the therapy that I call Stampin’ Up!

Today’s card – Freshly Made Sketches #82 by Jen B….

    Freshly Made Sketches #82

My card starts with a base of Gumball Green and I used a piece of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper for the background. The stamped image is from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and so are the tickets that are attached with a mini staple. The greeting is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and is punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch and pierced with the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack. Some adhesive cork adds some fun texture and grounds the card. I think the Gumball Green looks quite nice with the Island Indigo and the Fan Fair DSP. I hope that you enjoyed my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge and that you have yourselves a fantastic day!!

  • Paper Craft Crew #38

Ahh… Wednesday, halfway there! How is your week going so far? Mine is pretty good, no complaints. It was a pretty nice day here yesterday, not too cold, not too hot. It sprinkled for a few minutes and then it was done. It is raining this morning but I don’t think it’s supposed to do it all day. I have a workshop tomorrow night with my friend Melissa. It will be a good time, a small crafty gathering. I’ll post the cards sometime in the future so you can see what we made. 🙂

On a fun note, a fellow demonstrator was inspired by the card that I made last week for Fab Friday. Erica Cerwin did a beautiful job on her card and was kind enough to mention me on her blog. You can see her post here and the card that I made here.

Today’s card – Paper Craft Crew Sketch 38…

    PCCCS038 Sketch 4-17-2013

I knew that when I saw it was going to keep the butterfly. The base of my card is Wisteria Wonder and the background is Daffodil Delight stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp inked in Daffodil Delight. The is a doily from the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit and the rounded flag from the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. The large flower is from the Floral Frames Collection Framelits and it’s embossed with the “Vintage” Vine Street Embossing Folder. A Beautiful Wings butterfly and a rolled paper rose give the card some dimension. The greeting is from the Wacky Wishes Host(ess) Stamp Set and some Itty Bitty Punch Pack flowers with Basic Jewels Pearls complete the card. I hope that you like my Paper Craft Crew Design Team Card for this week’s sketch challenge. Hop on over to the Paper Craft Crew blog to see what my clever team mates have for you and upload a card of your own. Thanks for stopping in and have yourselves a sunny day!
