Hello there and welcome to this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour! The theme for this month’s tour is Spring! Who couldn’t use some Spring! I’m over the Winter and have been for quite some time! We are supposed to get snow today too. Will it ever end?! LOL!Β If you are following along with the tour then you have arrived here from the very clever Debbie Henderson’sΒ blog, she had some great projects didn’t she?! I have twoΒ cards for you this time around so lets get right to them!
My first card definitely has real Spring feel to it! The card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Soft Sky and I stamped the greeting from the Flower Fair Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. All of the flowers are from the same set and are stamped in So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzaz and Always Artichoke. I used the coordinating Flower Patch Framelits to cut out all of the stamped images. Some are adhered to the card with SNAIL and others with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered a sequin in the middle of each one. The butterfly is a piece of Calypso Coral that I cut out with the Butterfly Thinlits. I covered the entire die cut with Versa-Mark and then heat embossed it multiple time with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A piece of Stampin’ Dimensional holds it to the card. I love all of the colors mixed together and I just can’t get enough of the clear embossed die cuts, I think they are so cool!
The second card that I have for you today is another card with a spring feel but could be used for so many different occasions. It was also pretty easy to make using one of the card from the Project Life Everyday Adventure Card Kit! The base for this card is also Whisper White Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape down the left side and part of one of the cards from the Everyday Adventure Card Kit down the right side. In the middle os a panel of Bermuda Bay that is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is another card from the kit and I used one of the dies form the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit to cut out the holes on the right side. A piece of Silver Thread is threaded through the holes with some “Vintage” Frosted Sequins and silver seed beads randomly added. The card is then adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love that saying and the card and I’m always looking for ways to use the Project Life cards since I’m not a big scrapbooker!
I hope that you enjoyed my cards for this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour! Thank you very much for stopping by! Now to continue on with the tour I’ll send you off to my very talented friend Wendy Weixler! Have a wonderful day everyone! π

Justin, I like both of these bright cheery cards and especially the sentiment on Card 2. I’m hoping the forecast for snow is wrong for tomorrow. Have a great Friday.
Thank you very much HJ! I love that sentiment too! I wish we had it as a stamp! I hope the snow is wrong too! I’ve had enough! You have a wonderful Friday! π
Hi Justin:
Two posts today, boy you are getting pretty ambitious! LOL I have got to try that multiple embossing. It sure makes the butterfly look almost like it’s plastic. Combined with the cascade of flowers this makes for a fabulous card.
I love the way you put the sequins and beads through the holes on the second card. How did you ever come up with that? Very imaginative for sure.
Hope you have a Fantastic Friday. Around here Friday is housework day and that makes it the least favored day of the week for me and the hubs but, it has to be done, so we will just bite the bullet so to speak and get it done.
Made stuffed shells for dinner tonight and they came out fabulous. Tomorrow night it will be pork chops, mac and cheese and fresh string beans. Sometimes it feels like all I do is cook and wash dishes – LOL However every meal we have I am thankful that we have enough to eat and a warm house to be in. That makes doing the dishes a joy. Take care my friend, the weekend is almost upon us. π XO
Hey Grace!
Yes, two posts and another one for tomorrow morning! Very busy!! But so much fun! I can;t stop with the embossing of the dies cuts, completely addicted! The bead idea came from a card that I saw on Pinterest, I liked it a lot and will do it again!
I hope that Friday is great too, for us both! I wish I was going to be home to clean! My house needs it bad! I will have to try to get to some of it over the weekend, hmm… we’ll see!
I love stuffed shells! They sound super yummy! I also love mac & cheese! I’m sure that it does feel that way! I feel like I work and craft, wait that is basically all I do! LOL! You do have to be thankful for what you have, so many have less. Have a great night!! XOXO π
WOW! You outdid yourself again, both are beautiful, I cant pick a favorite. Your embossed butterfly just “POPS” and I cant believe the second card is from a project life card, beautiful. Love how you strung the sequins and beads, nice touch.
Thanks very much Linda! i really liked making both of the cards! I always like to make a card with the Project Life stuff, I do like it and makes for a nice change! Have a lovely night! π
Wow Justin, these are two awesome cards!! I love the first one with the embossed sentiment, that really makes it show up so nicely. And the embossed butterfly–I have got to try this!!! I hope mine comes out just as pretty π I love the Flower Patch set, it is so fun to stamp out and then “framelit” cut them out, makes it so easy peasy! Your second card is so cool with the way you used the framelit piece to cut the holes and then lined up the sequins and beads together, what a way to top off a card π
It’s been a little crazy here, sorry I went off the grid. You’ve really outdone yourself these past few days. Love all of your projects. You have an exceptionally gifted mind and your talent putting your designs together is phenomenal. I love seeing what you share with us everyday! Thanks Justin!
Thanks so much Jill! You have to try the clear embossed die cuts! They are so much fun! I’m sure that yours will look great! The Flower Patch set does have some nice simple flowers and the Framelits make it awesome!
I understand crazy, believe me! I’m so happy that you have enjoyed my cards! I really enjoy making them and sharing them with you is the best part! π
Hi Justin! Just getting to check in on this blog post. I love both of your projects today! The first one with all the flowers and that butterfly π just makes me happy! So Spring-like! Love it! And your second is one is just as good. I have been playing around with the PL cards and I love them. I love that saying too! You never disappoint me with your creations!
Hello again Karen!
Thanks you! The first card is a very happy card indeed! I am really beginning to like the Project Life cards for cards! The sentiment is awesome! π
Justin,
Both of these card are great! The flowers make me long for real springlike weather. Right now I am looking at snow out my window. I have the flower patch stamp set and it hasn’t even seen ink yet. But you have inspired me. π
Love the Project Life card too. I may end up getting those PL cards after all.
Playing catch up on your blog.
Thank you Gerri! I definitely had spring on my mind when I made the first card! You need to ink up that set! It’s great! I actually think that the PL Cards a re great for cards! Glad that you are catching up! π
