Masked Vintage Roses

Nice weather here again yesterday! Sunny and warm, still could be warmer but I’ll take it! I didn’t do very much yesterday, I slept which was actually nice. I did get some crafty time but not as much as I would have liked! My parent’s went to Pennsylvania yesterday and they brought back some really good old fashioned donuts! Last night I got to catch up with Michael and did some more research. It’s amazing how much knowledge you can gain from the internet! Today I definitely have some projects to get finished! I will be getting up at 4:00am tomorrow morning to take Heather to the airport. She has to go to Dallas for business overnight. Could she have picked an earlier flight?! That’s going to hurt!

Last night I had the urge to do a one layer card. I haven’t done masking in a long time so I thought that I would give it a go! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the flowers and leaves are fromย the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the roses in Altenew Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine Crisp Inks and the leaves in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean, Green Apple and Green Leaf Ink. I created my mask with a piece of Masking Paper and used it over and over! By the time I was finished it didn’t have any stick left to it and was covered in ink! My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and stampedย in Onyx Black and trimmed out with my Scissors. I used some Foam Tape to adhere it to the card and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets, I love how they look like water on the flowers! The Altenew Crisp Inks are really nice and I can’t wait to get some more colors! I hope that you enjoyed my sort of one layer card for today! Thank you for coming by and I wish you all a simple and fun Sunday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hi Justin,

    1. Hello Donna!
Thank you! I need to make something everyday! It relaxes me so much! The Altenew Inks really are nice! You have a super day! Laters my friend! XO ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Justin, I love this beautiful card with its bright colors and standout sentiment. The masking is awesome with the great colors you used. Have a wonderful day…4 am will come early tomorrow. I don’t envy you on that task.

    1. Thank you HJ! I love that “tape” sentiment! I definitely have to do more masking, it was fun! You enjoy your day too! Yes, 4am is not going too be fun at all! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Just beautiful card again! I like the “dew drops” on the flowers. I bet your masking paper looks awesome — you could probably use it on a card somehow. Going up to the 80’s here! Back to the deck for me and the pup. She always find the shade. Thanks to you and Grace for the kind sentiment about tomorrow. The waiting for the results will be pins and needles. Keeping a positive outlook, Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! The dew drops are a fun addition, looks just like water on them! The masking paper was a little rough looking! I stamped way too many flowers! LOL! It has been just beautiful all week and I’m enjoying every second! Hope you are enjoying the weather! Love ya! XO

  4. Oh Justin! Your flowers are so beautiful and you must have had a lot of fun masking. I haven’t done that in ages and, in fact, forgot all about it. Your shading with the color combo makes the flowers look oh so real. I just love it! For a single layer card it is outstanding!

Better you than me with the 4 a.m. wake up call. LOL Poor Heather would miss her plane if she was depending on me. I used to have to fly to Dallas fairly often on business also but always chose a night flight so I could get some sleep before the meetings. There never was a time when I was an early morning person! You are a fantastic friend for sure. Wishing you a simply super Sunday. I will be watching the race at Bristol this afternoon and then hopefully finish some cards I started yesterday this evening. Love and hugs my friend. XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you Grace! I actually did enjoying the masking! I forgot how much fun it is to do! The Altenew stamps are great for the shading! I need to get some more!
Poor Heather was sick so I didn’t have to get up! She’s better now! I think that I prefer the morning flights myself, but you make a good point about getting sleep! I hope that you enjoyed your race! Love to you! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. This is just beautiful, I love the colors, A;tnew inks are so rich, I love using them, I forget about 1 layer cards. I really need those droplets, love them. It is BEAUTIFUL !!!! here. Upper 70’s to low 80’s. i’m so afraid it wont last.

Awesome day yesterday, Had a late lunch with some old friends from high school, yep just a few years ago. Then I came home and mojo kicked it. I actually made my Paper Pumkin wreath, timely. Just got it FRiday, love this kit. Then I got creative and made a purse and filled it with thank you cards and post it note pad. Used last years Painted Blossoms SU paper, sad to see that line go away. I think my Admin Assistant will love her gift this year. Those paper purses always interested me, and not to difficult. Lets see what today brings.

    1. Thank you so much Linda! Altenew inks are really great! And they clean of the stamps more easily than others! The Drops are cool and you really do get a lot!
SO glad that you have an awesome day! I love that you keep in tough with all of your old peeps! I am looking forward to getting my kit this month, maybe I too will actually do it! You really did have a creative day! Aren’t they the best?! ๐Ÿ™‚
