OSAT Blog Hop – Summer Lovin’

OSAT Blog Hop Banner

What started out as a nice sunny morning turned into November! LOL! Around 1:00 it started to pour and got really windy! I choose to wear shorts and flip flips today, bad choice! I did manage to get a few projects done at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! It was a good day to be crafty at work! When I got home I had some dinner at my parent’s, my mum had gone over to see our neighbor whose husband had just passed away. They have been friends for a while and she is a very nice lady. My Dad and I chatted for a bit and then I came home and Taylor was here napping on the couch with binge watching Secrets of Magic on Netflix through her eyelids! Around 9:00 I ran up to BJ’s to get some stuff for work and bumped into Sue and her husband Joe. We talked for a while waiting on line. I miss seeing Sue! When I got back home I finished up my card and then typed my post before calling it a day. I have my Stamping 101 Class tonight, that should be fun!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from my good friend Andrea’s blog, welcome! This month we have a Summer Lovin’ theme! Ahh, Summer love, I have had one of those, I miss it!

First up I have a card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of My Colors Slate. I adhered a strip of My Colors Mini Dot Prairie Hearts Paper down the left side. Some Gold Mirror Card is cut out with the Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and Accents Dies using my Artisan X-Plorer, I also embossed the die cut and then adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My flowers and leaves are form the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Arctic, Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue and Sapphire Crisp Ink for the flowers and Morning Frost, Evening Gray and Moon Rock Crisp Ink for the leaves using my Mini MISTI. I cut them out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered them to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of 46lb Vellum. I trimmed it out with my Scissors and adhered it to the flower with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. I was going to add some sequins but I thought that it looked nice just the way it was!

The other project I have for you is a box that I made using the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. I used the same Card Stock, Dies and Stamps to create it. I love the coordination with the card using the same stamps and shapes! It’s also a lot of fun to dig through Renee’s stash and use things that I normally wouldn’t get to use!

  1. That card and box are both “WOW”. You’ve inspired me for a gift I need to make!

  2. Both of these projects are great, Justin. The card is so stunning with the slate background and the beautiful blue flowers over the gold mirror diecut. I love the metal die. I’m loving all the new companies and products you are introducing us to now. It is so inspiring and wonderful to see them versus only SU products. It seems like your creative talent has been let loose and I’m loving it. On the flip side, it may not be healthy for my wallet with my long wish list. lol Have a great day!

    1. Thank you so much HJ! I like a nice dark background, I think it really showcases the flowers and the gold! I’m so happy and lucky that I get to show you all of these fun products! I really am having a great time using them! There is so much great stuff out there! LOL! Hopefully I can get the online store opens soon and save you some money!! You have a wonderful day! 🙂

  3. Good Morning Justin,
Can you tell me where you get the different letters to coordinate with your projects?

    thanks,

    1. Hello Janet!
I get the letters from Michaels, well my daughter gets them for me! 🙂

  4. Good Morning Justin!

As soon as I looked at your card this morning it reminded me of an English Tea Room I go to when I’m with my friend Carol. The Tea Room is decorated with all blue and white including the wallpaper and the china. The tiny sandwiches are served on blue and white rose plates and the tea cups match. Carol can be the most proper lady and the most down to earth one all at the same time and we so love the ladies that run the shop. Of course, the gold mirror card stock is just the absolute perfect to bring out the beauty of the flowers! Can you tell I love this card and gift box. It brings back good memories for me.

Woke up this morning to no electricity and a house temperature of 62. A bit chilly I would say. Of course my first thought was “oh rats, no computer” followed by “how the heck will I get my car out of the garage?”! With the hubs away there was no one to hook up the generator and the garage doors are way too heavy for me to push up. As I was thinking all this low and behold the electricity came on – so, I breathed a sigh of relief, made a cup of tea and sat down to see what Justin was up to today! Have yourself a Tantalizing Thursday my friend and keep warm! LOL Love and hugs, XXOO 🙂

    1. Hi Grace!
Yes! It does remind me of an English Tea room too! That sounds like a very nice place to go! I love the flowers in that set! And I’m very glad that you like the card and that I got to stir up memories for you! Thank you!
Oh no! That doesn’t sound like a fun way to wake up! I’m so glad that it came back on! I love that you sit down with your cup of tea and me! LOL! I hope the rest of your day went better!! Love and hugs to you! 🙂

  5. Justin, Absolutely gorgeous card and project. The flowers are beautiful and definitely speak to summer love. I’m so excited to be participating in the OSAT Blog Hop. (Sorry I’m commenting late but I’ve been traveling since Thursday evening).

    1. Thank you very much Pam! We are all really busy! I wish that I could comment on every beautiful card that I see but that would be all that I did all day long! 🙂

  6. Wow Justin! These projects are so classy! Lots of lovely details, and I love the gold with the dark blue combo and lighter neutrals.
