I had a nice relaxing morning yesterday. I got up and had my coffee and puttered around on the internet before I took my shower. I even got to sit outside for a bit before it started to rain. After that I FaceTimed with Andrea for a little, stopped by my parents and then headed over to get my man bun chopped off. I can say that I did it and I’m glad to have my short hair back! Around 1:20 I started to make my way to La Guardia. It rained on the way there which in 94 degrees with no AC in the car wasn’t fun at all! Ken’s flight was a little late but I got him and nearly cooked him in the car on the way back to the store. It took us a little over two hours to get there. His class was awesome and all of the students made some really great projects! I also got to speak to one of my blog peeps on the phone for a little bit! So nice to actually get to speak in person! When the class was over I took Ken to get some food and then dropped him off at his hotel. I’m going to get him early so we can stop and have breakfast on the way to the store. He has another class today and then I’ll drop him off at the Ferry over to Connecticut later on tonight. It’s fun to get spend time with him, he’s a really nice guy!
For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from my friend Martie’s blog, welcome! This month we have a a Summer theme! As soon as I saw the August My Monthly Hero Kit I knew that I would have to use it for this hop! I have two cards that I made with it and the add ons share with you!
My first card has a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Cornflower and Soft Pink Ink to a piece of Solar White 80lb, dried it with my Heat Tool and the heat embossed the greeting in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I then adhered that to the card base. Next up I used the Die from the August My Monthly Hero Kit to cut out a piece of Early Espresso and the Add-On Die to cut out a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic. The Early Espresso piece is adhered to the background with Dot Runner and the Gold piece is adhered with 3D Foam Squares. The fairy is from the Kit too and is stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored in with Copics. I used the Coordinating Die to cut her out and adhered her with more 3D Foam Squares to the card. To tone down the Gold a little I used the Outer Frame from the Kit on a piece of Solar White 80lb and adhered that with more Dot Runner on top of the gold. For a little more magic I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink, Gold and Pansy Purple Sequins and brushed the fairy with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen. I love that kit! So fun and whimsical and the dies are just awesome!
For the second card I also used a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To create my background I heat embossed the clouds, stars and greeting from the Add-On Stamp Set Dreams Are Made in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card and then used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I blended them together and then used a dry paper towel to buff the excess ink off of the heat embossed parts. The fairy is again from the Main Kit and is stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors. She is cut out with the Coordinating Die. I also heat embossed the wand in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder and cut that out with my Scissors. The background is adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner and the fairy and wand with 3D Foam Squares. For a little added sparkle I stamped the stardust in Encore Silver Metallic Ink. Love the emboss-resist background and the watercolored fairy, she looks so happy floating up there in the night sky!
I hope that you enjoyed my cards for the OSAT Summer Blog Hop! You can click on the button below to continue on with the tour and you will go on to see what my fabulous friend Dena has come up with!! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today. Have a thoroughly awesome Thursday! 🙂

Beautiful faries! Your watercoloring is gorgeous!
Thank you Melissa! The fairies are very storybook! I’m so into the watercoloring, it’s so much fun! 🙂
Sweet fairies, love the sponged background
Thank you Tracy! 🙂
Merci Magali! 🙂
Two cards today! I love when you do that! The fairies are just beautiful and I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t love fairies. Last time I was at the casino in CT I even played a fairies slot machine that was lots of fun. It didn’t pay but was still fun to play. LOL
I hope you get your AC fixed before driving around today. The humidity is horrible. The hubs wondered aloud this morning about how could people enjoy staying in Florida all summer when the humidity level is so high. I just reminded him that people from down south ask me how we could stand all the snow here in the winter. That was the end of that conversation. We both laughed. If everyone liked the heat OR the cold and moved to those climates the weight would make the earth spin fast and we’d all fall off. Obviously I haven’t had my morning cup of tea yet as I am rambling. So – I shut up. You have yourself the Best Thursday ever my friend. Love and hugs to you, XXOO 🙂
Yay! I love when I get to share lots of fun stuff with you Grace! I love the fairies, they are very storybook like! LOL! Sorry that the fairies slots were not magical for you!
The AC is annoying because I know what it is, I just don’t have time to look at it! It’s warm, but I like it! I know that you don’t! I would rather be in Florida than ever see snow again! LOL! Ha ha! That’s really funny but probably true! I am enjoying my week! Hope that you are too! Love and hugs! XOXO 🙂
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Melanie! 🙂
I just got this set and can’t wait to use it–other things are sitting to be done–mastectomy bags of breast cancer patients here.
Thanks Carla! 🙂
I’m heading to Hero Arts after this. I love your cards. I’m a believer in the magic of fairies! Call me crazy if you wish. But, I love fairies.
Thank you Gloria! Love the Hero Monthly Kits! I like fairies too, how can you not, they are magical! 🙂
Such beautiful cards. Love all the details.
Thanks so much Renee! 🙂
I especially like the card with the Floral Border with Frame die. Your layering over the Espresso die cut added beautiful texture. Great watercoloring, too, Justin!
Thank you El! That was a fun card to make! Well, they were all fun cards to make! 🙂
I was wondering if you would consider selling your used August 2016 My Monthly Hero kit to me. I really adore fairies and I will pay well!
I actually collect the kits so it would be really hard for me to part with one, sorry. 🙂
Thank you for taking the time to reply! I don’t blame you, they are lovely kits. I will continue searching! Have a great weekend :).
Welcome! Hope you find one! 🙂
