Freshly Made Sketches 256

Yay for Saturday! It’s also World Card Making Day! I really should be at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store but I’m off to Manhattan to attend the Mama Elephant 4th Anniversary Party! I had so much fun there last year I just had to go again! Sandy is going with me and we are going to have a little lunch before the event! Renee is celebrating International Coffee Day at the Store, not be confused with National Coffee Day which was Thursday. I was only in the Store for a 1/2 day yesterday. I had to go to the Post Office and then I stopped at Heather’sΒ and had a late lunch with her. We ran a few errands and then I came home and crafted for a bit. I also did a little laundry, something that I have to try and fit in instead of on my usual Sunday. Will any of you be in the city today? It’s also my Mum’s Birthday today! Happy Birthday Mum!!

One of the cards that I made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I wanted a very clean card with only heat embossing, here’s what I came up with! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of Champagne Curious Metallic. On another piece of Ivory 110lb I flagged the bottom and then heat embossed the solidΒ part of the flower from the Concord & 9th You Are Enough Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. Next I heat embossed the outline in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder and then the greeting again in Gold. The flagged piece is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A sprinkling of Gold and Rose Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins completes the card! Like I said very clean and only heat embossed! I love the way the flower looks in both the gold and copper! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you so much for spending a little of your Saturday with me! Have an amazing day! πŸ™‚

  2. Your card warmed my heart! Happy Birthday, Mum! Hope it’s a great one! Have a Super Day in NYC, Justin. Hugs, Nancy B

  3. I love CAS cards! Pretty neat that you did an entire card with embossing powder. You also flagged the cardstock perfectly. Did you use a ruler to find the center? Probably not because you have that artistic eye for sure. Have fun today, wish I was going with you.

Weather is not so great here today either. I get to go to Home Depot today oh boy (NOT)! I really do not like the big box stores but hey, ya’ gotta’ do what ya’ gotta’ do right? Meanwhile a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mum today.

    1. Yes Grace, me too! I love that it’s all embossing powder! I did use a ruler to find the center, I always do! I’m not that good! LOL! I wish you at the ME event too, it was a lot of fun!
Ha! You don’t like a trip to The Home Depot?! I’ll pass on your birthday wishes! Hope you had a lovely day! Hugs! XOXO πŸ™‚

  4. Stunning!!! Perfectly CAS and I love the monochromatic theme you have going on. Hope the ME event is super fun. I had some car issues this AM that kept me from getting to the train station. Car issues are resolved now, thankfully but I wouldn’t be able to get there until the event was more than halfway over since it would take me about 2.5 hours once I got on the train. πŸ™

    1. Thank you Christy! The ME Event was a lot of fun! Sorry that you had car issues, would have loved to have seen you! Have a fun Sunday! πŸ™‚

  5. Happy National Card Making Day! I cant wait to see your purchases from Mama Elephant!

I love this card, two embossings on the card, I never would have tried this but it is beautiful. I love this stamp, I need to try this technique.

    1. Thank you Linda! Same to you! I was pretty good at the ME event. I did get some stuff to make samples with and see the reaction in the store!
