Hello peeps! How was your Monday? Mine was not too bad. My boss came into work today and told us that she feel off of her bicycle three times yesterday. She has a huge orange size lump on the back of her leg and she is a very tiny person so it’s a big lump. My co-worker Nicole and her are doing a 75 mile ride out to Montauk in a few months. They both got those pedals that you wear the special shoes for and “click” in and out of. When you are not used to them and you stop quick it’s hard to do. So basically your feet are attached to the pedals as you go over. Not good at all. I told her I would have given up after the first fall. I give them both a lot of credit, 75 miles is what cars are made for! LOL! The rest of my day was pretty routine, had dinner, came home and crafted a bit. It has become a necessity to craft so I can wind down and I’m quite happy that way!
Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for the Birds, Bees and Butterflies challenge. Just use one or more on your project, not a problem at all!
I needed to use my favorite little bird before he becomes “Vintage”, the one from Backyard Basics. The base of today’s card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I stamped the feather from another one of my favorites and soon to be “Vintage” sets, Fine Feathers in Crumb Cake down the right side. The panel is Whisper White and the top left corner of the panel and the card are rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder. My leaves are from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set and are stamped in Gumball Green. The flowers are from the new Something to Say* Stamp Set, stamped in Sahara Sand and are punched out with the new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack*. I added a Basic Jewel Pearl in the middle and a Mini Glue Dot to adhere them. The little bird, as I mentioned, is from the Backyard Basics Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers*. I told you that I colored a lot this weekend! My greeting is from the also soon to be “Vintage” Happy Watercolor Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black*. I adhered the panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and done! I can’t tell you enough how much I love the new Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers! I really hope that you enjoyed my card for the SUO Challenges Birds, Bees and Butterflies challenge. Head on over to the blog to see the other projects from the design team and upload yours to the gallery to play along! Thanks for stopping by today to see my project. Have a great Tuesday! 🙂

Love the bird and the use of the markers. My favorite color, blue. Which stamp set are those little flowers from? I see many uses for them. Looks like a good, spring day. Enjoy. 🙂
Thank you Nancy! My favorite color is blue too! The flowers are from the new Something to Say Stamp Set. You have a good day too! 🙂
Well, that is definitely going on my Wish List!
Yeah! Thanks Nancy! 🙂
Hey Justin I like how you used that feather on your card ! I have that set and love it ,but that particular feather stumped me ….thank you ! Also noticed your purple ones for spring !!
I`m with you and those pedal /shoes …Dangerous ! Happy Tuesday !!
Thank you Sonny! The feathers make a great accent, especially when stamped in the same color as the card stock. You are good noticing the new blog header feathers too! I try to remember to change them on the 1st but sometimes I forget! I hope you have a wonderful day! 🙂
Simply Adorable!! Love the bird from that set too!! Great coloring!! BTW, those shoes would terrify me!
Thank you Sharon! He is a great little bird! Yes, I don’t think I would do the shoes either! 🙂
Hi Justin,
Great card! Your coloring on the bird is fantastic! I can’t wait to get my markers (tomorrow!!!)! The flowers on the leaves make it look like a Dogwood tree.
Do you find the Blendabilities easy to work with? Have you used alcohol markers prior to these? I never have used that type of marker before and am just wondering what the learning curve is in using these…
I can not wait until Mr. Brown comes to visit me tomorrow!!! I have been anxiously awaiting my delivery!
I hope your Tuesday has been a good one,
Donna
Hello Donna!
Thank you ! I am having so much fun with the Blendabilities! Yes, I thought it looked like a dogwood too! I do find the markers easy to work with and no, I have never used alcohol markers before. I think you should be fine. I know you are going to have fun tomorrow! My day was pretty good and I hope that your’s is too! 🙂
HI there Justin! Your card is so pretty…that little bird is just lovely. You do such a great job with the coloring. I definitely need practice with that, hoping the Blendabilities make me look like a pro! 😉 And I’m lovin’ the new little flower punch! Gosh, that sounds like a terrible accident your boss had. I have to think twice about driving 75 miles in the car!! Hope she’s on the mend soon! Have a wonderful evening! P.S. I’m wondering why Brian didn’t take you on the cruise with him? 😉
Hello Karen!
Thank you so much! I love that bird and he looks so cool colored in with the markers! I’m sure the Blendabilities will make you look like the pro that you are! The punches are great, but I will miss the Itty Bitty Punch pack. She is doing better today but thinks she may get rid of the pedals! I’m with you! 75 miles is far even in a car! I hope that you had a good day and are in for a nice evening too! I have some Mother’s Day cards to make. I wish he had taken me!! We’ll have to tell him! LOL! 🙂
Justin- love your card (as usual!) My husband does 100-mile gravel rides here in Oklahoma. They are kind of what you call “endurance rides.” You wont believe the ladies and gents who ride in these things! One of them is called the Land Run 100 and they have a website if you wanna look ’em up. Keep up the great cards! Love your style and your blog!

Hi Darla,
Thank you so much! WOW! Now that’s a bike ride! I thought 75 miles on a road was bad. Those are some hearty folks! I will definitely take a look at the web site. Thanks so much for coming by today! I hope that you had a good day, see you soon! 🙂
One one card today…. my you are slacking, LOL This card is a beauty, love the bird. My son is a triathlon nut. Every day he runs 20 miles, bikes at least 25. On weekends he rides 75-90 miles just for fun. Nuts I say but he loves it. And yes, those shoes are nuts!
LOL! Ha ha! I know, only one card! Thank you Linda! I give people a lot of credit that do all of that! It must be nice to get on your bike and just ride. 75 miles for him is just a Sunday! LOL! Have a great day! 🙂
Good Evening Justin!!
I look forward to your amazingly AWESOME cards & projects every day, but you have outdone yourself this week, especially with today’s STUNNING card!! I love EVERYTHING about it, from top to bottom, side to side, and every little detail!! 😉
And congratulations on your newly-acquired design team position, along with your inaugural blog post!!! I am a bit behind this week, but it is almost Wednesday, which is one day closer to Friday!!! Yippee!!! Have a great night!!!
Hello Laurie!
Thank you so much! I look forward to your comments! It’s a simple card but the bird gives it all it needs! I’m happy to be on the new Creation Station, we are going to have lots of fun! Yes, we are halfway to Friday! I hope that you have a wonderful day! 🙂
