I have to say that today was a very good day at work for me. I ended up having to do my monthly delivery today so I was gone for 2 hours. Came back, did a little work, and then was released at 3 PM. Sounds like parole… because it is. LOL! After work, Andrew came by to help me move some stuff (yes, still!). When we reached the old apartment, it was approximately 115º, a definite thing that I will not be missing about living on the second floor. We got a lot more stuff moved, had some dinner and organized some more. And now Andrew would like to have a word with you…
Hey folks! I [obviously] read Justin’s blog every day and I’m flattered to be mentioned quite often. I’m even more flattered though that you all take an interest in my life and well-being. It brought a big smile to my face to see all your birthday wishes yesterday, so thank you all so much! And don’t worry, Justin will be taking me to dinner very soon! LOL! Also, when I got to his house this afternoon, he had a birthday card for me! Surprise! Here it is in all it’s glory…
I was quite impressed with the card as I always am with Justin’s work, but I really like the 3D look of the skyline and my Clark Kent-looking hair. LOL! The card is currently hanging in my living room with the rest of my birthday cards, but we all know which ones shines the brightest, don’t we?!
So thank you all once again, I really appreciate it. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…
Today’s a good Friday because it’s the other Friday and I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…
I just so happened to get a new box of goodies yesterday and used three of them on today’s card. My card starts off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock and my background is a piece of Flashback Designer Series Paper. I embossed a strip of Crushed Curry with the Zig Zag Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. On top of that is a piece of Real Red that I punched out using the Angled Tag Topper Punch to make the tag. I thought it needed a little something more so I used the Eclectic Paper Piercing Pack to pierce around the edge. The greeting/image is from the Well Worded Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Very Vanilla and cut out with the Mustache Framelits Die. A simple, fun, retro card that’s great for when you don’t have a lot of time (moving/sorting… will it ever end?!). Make sure you head on over to the Fab Friday blog to see the rest of the Design Team projects for this week’s sketch. I would love to see what you do with the sketch, so upload your card to the gallery for us! A great big thank you from both Andrew and I. You always put a smile on our faces! Have a happy and safe 4th of July! 🙂

HI Justin! And Andrew!!Glad you had a nice bday and I love the card from Justin!! It’s awesome! Love how he tied in the “geeky girl” glasses!! 😉 I know he was busy with his paper snips doing fussy cutting too! Such a cool card and a keeper for sure! Oh—Happy 4th of July! Love your card Justin! I did get the mustache framelit but didn’t order the stamp set that goes with it…ok…on the list it goes! I love the layout and the zig-zag EF is great!! So I hope you find a little time to relax on this holiday and thanks so much for sharing with us!! Enjoy!
Hi Karen!
I’m glad that you noticed the geeky girl glasses! It was fun card to make for a great person! Happy 4th to you too! I got the Framelit first and just got the Stamp Set yesterday. The Zig Zag is a new addition too! I have some crafty things to do and some more organizing but I think I will head into Manhattan tomorrow for a bit! 🙂
Fabulous cards!!
Thank you Wendie! Have a wonderful day! 🙂
Whoa Justin! I love, love, love the card you made for Andrew! I didn’t have a clue how anyone could use those phrases (of course, you need to remember I’m old and don’t understand all this hash tag stuff)! Everything about this card screams Andrew from the city skyline to the glasses to the fact that Andrew brings sunshine and happiness to everyone with his voice. The card couldn’t be any more perfect! I was really surprised to see Andrew is only 21. My gosh I’ve got great nephews older than that! No wonder you two have so much energy.
For Andrew: All of Justin’s fans really want to thank you for helping him so much with this move. Without you we are sure Justin wouldn’t have had time to blog every day and we would miss that something awful.
Wishing you all a happy 4th of July and I am asking everyone to remember what the signers of the Declaration of Independence gave up because they signed that document. All either had their lands and farms ravished, were killed or suffered unbelievably until their deaths. They put not only themselves but their families and possessions in jeopardy that we might have the freedoms we have today. So while we are all eating, having fun and watching fireworks we need to remember.
Yeah! Thank you Grace! LOL! I love the hashtag stuff, if you put one in front of something you just don’t need spaces! LOL! I thought that it captured my friend quite nicely! Yes, he is a young one but wise beyond his years! 🙂
I’m grateful that he has been such a tremendous help, as he always is! I would miss you guys too!
Happy 4th to you! I think that it’s great that you bring up the real reason we celebrate, so many people forget! Have a fantastic day my friend! 🙂
Justin, you are killing me!!! I never gave that super hero set a second look. Now I want that too!! AWESOME card!!! Love the Clark Kent look…. And that skyline could be used for so many different cards. Andrew is right, the 3-D effect is fabulous! Love, love, love it!!
Stampin Up really needs to hire you as a designer!!
Happy 4th of July. Maybe you should get Winston one of those “thunder-shirts”. My friend has one for her dog and swears by it.
LOL! As soon as I saw that set I knew I had to have it! The skyline was definitely the biggest selling point! Ahh, wouldn’t that be wonderful to work at the home office! That would be my perfect job! Happy 4th to you too! Yes, I definitely need to invest in a thunder shirt for little Winston! 🙂
Hi Justin and Andrew! Love hearing from you, Andrew…Love the cards! Have a great 4th everyone! My brother is here from NJ for a couple of days. It’s great to see him. I just had to stop in to read your blog. Later, Gator…Nancy B

Thank you Louise! I thought that the Calling All Heroes set would be a good one to use for Andrew! I am looking forward to some time away from packing! 🙂
Hi Justin, Andrew’s card was fabulous. Love the 3-D city, and we all know how much you like to go there. Your card for the FabFriday is great. I love the DSP with the embossing folder and colors. Hope you didn’t have any July 4th plans with this rain, but maybe it is a good day to stay in and organize . . . ha. ha. 🙂
Hello Nancy!
Thank you very much! The city skyline was definitely one of the main reasons I got the set! I too am really liking that DSP, great colors and patterns! No plans yesterday, just organizing! I hope you had a nice day! 🙂
