Yay! It’s Friday and next week is a short week! Yesterday was a little warmer and not as windy and even though it’s going to rain on Monday I’m looking forward to temps in the 60’s! Work was the norm yesterday and when I got home little Daniel was there for dinner. He just runs all over the place now, so cute. I went over to Heather’s last night for a little wine night with Stephanie and Andrew, that was fun! I’ll be in Manhattan on Sunday and I’m going to try an attempt to get my house cleaned on Saturday. What’s on for the weekend for you?
What makes Friday even better? It’s time for another Fab Friday challenge and this time around we have a sketch…
I have been really into the blues again for my Holiday cards and I also stayed pretty true to the sketch. My card base is Island Indigo Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Brushed Silver Metallic Card Stock with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it towards the top of the base. A piece of Pool Party 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon is adhered around the back across the bottom of the Silver with Sticky Strip. My snowflake is from the “Vintage” Festive Flurry Stamp Set and is heat embossed on Vellum in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with the Festive Flurry Framelits. In the middle is a Silver Basic Metal Button with some “Vintage” Pool Party Baker’s Twine tied in a bow. I adhered the button to the snowflake with a Glue Dot and the snowflake to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. My greeting is from the Watercolor Winter Too Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo and cut out with one of the dies from the Circle Card Thinlits. Some more Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that in place. A nice simple card, again not too difficult to duplicate. I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge. Don’t forget to pay a little visit to the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch and take a minute to enter your card too! Thanks you for coming by to visit with me and I wish you all a Fantastic Friday! 🙂

Hey Justin, Manhattan on Sunday? So lucky! We went to Hillsong Church NYC – I think it has moved to a bigger venue now, still in Manhattan though. I am stamping with friends on Saturday – I got my first Christmas card this week and I haven’t even started making mine yet – Oh the shame… I love your card by the way! Keep safe in the snow, it’s all over the news here! Have a great weekend! Cheers, Kelly, South Australia xx
Hey Kelly!
Yes, I do like a little trip into the city and Sunday’s are good, lees traffic early. I will have to look up that church. Stamping with friends is always fun! I really need to get a move on my christmas cards!! Thank you! No snow down here thank god! You have a great weekend in nice warm Oz!! 🙂
Good Morning Justin! Interesting how we love to make and look at cards with a snow theme, BUT when it comes to the real stuff!!! Actually, I love snow as long as I don’t have to drive in it! Love your snowflake card! The embossed Brushed Silver panel is a wonderful backdrop for the vellum snow flake! Have a relaxing weekend and fun on Sunday!
Hello Beth!
Yes, I do love a snowflake on a card but not in the yard! LOL! I would be quite content to never see snow in person again! So glad that you enjoyed the card and I hope that you have a lovely weekend too! 🙂
This is a great card. Love it lots and I love blues. Very nice. So sorry about calling you “B” the other day.
🙂
Thank you Nancy! LOL! That’s ok, I would rather Brian than Jason!! LOL! 🙂
Hi there Justin and a very happy Friday to you! Love your card today…I find that I use a lot of the blue shades for my Christmas cards too. We have a quiet weekend, just some dinner with friends (who we’ve not seen in a very long time) on Saturday evening. Ugh, you mentioned house cleaning…I should do some of that as well. And I’ve have white choc macadamia nut cookies on my mind lately so may need to make a batch of those. I have a big event coming up so lots of prep to do for that. But I look forward to that time in my stamp room! Have a great time in the city on Sunday…hoping you’ll share pics with us again. Have a great day and we’ll “see” you tomorrow!
Hello Karen!
It was a pretty happy Friday indeed! Thank you! I really do love blues for the Holidays! Dinner with friends that you haven’t seen in a while sounds like a really good time! Lots of catching up! Yes, I should clean the house today but I don’t know if that will happen either. The cookies sound divine! I always enjoy planning an stamping event, I need to have more of those. I hope that it doesn’t rain on Sunday! I hope that you had a nice Friday, I’m late this morning! LOL! 🙂
Great card! Love the color combo!
Thank you Ruthie! 🙂
Justin,
Beautiful card! Love how the embossed dots look like snow. Blues are my favorite colors. They soothe me.
Thanks for sharing!
Gerri,
Thanks so much! Blues soothe me too! Glad you enjoyed the card! 🙂
Hi Justin:
Of course you just know I love this card because of the glitz! Hey, I figured out the pig thing, yes I did! LOL We can discuss that later. Not much going on here for the weekend. NASCAR is done until Daytona in February so no race to look forward to on Sunday. I have to go to Effingham, NH for a funeral Saturday which is about a 2-1/2 hour drive so that will pretty much take up the day. Sunday afternoon I’ll start addressing my Christmas cards and poof – the weekend will be over just like that. Enjoy Manhattan and get yourself to Battery Park for some great photos. Hugs.
Hello Grace!
Yes, I do know that you love a little glitz! I’m impressed that you figured out the pig thing! I know that you will miss your races, but February will be here before you know it! Funerals are never fun, especially when they are far away. I wish you a safe drive. I need to get on my Christmas cards, I also need to be two people sometimes! I will go to Battery Park, provided there is no rain. Hugs to you too! 🙂
The dots on silver-so reminiscent of falling snow. The Pool Party on vellum makes the snowflake so special. I could fall into that Island Indigo, it is so beautiful. Overall, a wonderful card, Justin. Makes me happy! Have a beautiful, happy weekend!
Yes Georgie, falling snow in silver! Love the Island Indigo, forgot how much until I pulled it out. Thank you! If the card makes you happy then my job is done! Happy weekend to you too! 🙂
Another beauty, love pool party and silver. My vacation started today at 430, I am so thrilled. one kid home from college rest ate coming home this weekend. i am so happy and so blessed. My goal: get Christmas cards done, fingers crossed. Hopefully 50’s this weekend, it is a heat wave
Thank you Linda! I do so love the blues! I’m jealous of your vacation! You sound like you are in for a great week! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you get your cards done! I need to think about starting mine! I do love the 50’s so much more than the 20’s!! Enjoy! 🙂
Really love the subtle reference to snow with the embossing folder and also the “ONE” snowflake, lol – let’s keep it that way!! Too chilly for me. Got to get a move on my Christmas cards and house cleaning. Yuck!! I hope you have a great weekend!
Thank you Jill! Yes, definitely only one snowflake!! LOL! I don’t enjoy the cold at all either! I have the same things to do as you this weekend! Good luck to both of us!! You have a great weekend too! 🙂
