Hey there! How was your Monday? Mine was not too bad. I got to do my 2 1/2 hour monthly errand yesterday, you know how I love that! I had a Stamp-A-Stack at Sandy’s house last night. I love to do them, gets 16 of my Christmas cards made! Plus we always have a good laugh! It’s getting chillier here and darker earlier, not my favorite time of year. I heard from some of you that you got some snow over the weekend! Yikes! It’s way too early for that!! If you could keep that sort of weather to the north or west of me I would greatly appreciate it!
It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for this week’s deals from Stampin’ Up!
Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our “A Thanks for Anything” challenge. I send out a lot of Thank You’s and sometimes you need a card that is easy to make but still has some impact to it, that’s what I tried to accomplish with my card. The base is Basic Black Card Stock. I stamped the large Thank You from the Another Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and then offset the image slightly and heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Whisper White. The sequins are from the Hello Darling Stamp Set and are also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I backed the panel with a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock before adhering it to the base. I like the shadow effect and the gold and black together. I hope that you agree that I accomplished my goal for a simple card with some impact! Take a few minutes to stop by the SUO Challenges blog and see what the other design team members have done. Thanks for visiting with me and enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

Hi Justin
Wow! What a great card! I love how you offset the embossed image, it really is very striking! I do think you accomplished your goal!
I agree with you on not liking the early darkness nor the cold! I have worn my winter coat already! Way to soon for that!
I think I finally have the design down for my Christmas cards. I just need to put it together to see how it all looks.
I hope your Tuesday is a good one!
Donna
Hey Donna!
Thank you! I like the “3D” effect it gives the image. I can’t bring myself to wear the coat just yet, I’m sticking to my thick sweatshirt. I always make a few different cards, I look forward to seeing yours! I hope you too have a good Tuesday! 🙂
What a really cool effect, Justin! I love this!
Thank you Amy!! 🙂
Good Morning Justin! Wow – that does really give a lot of impact. Love the shadow effect. It really pops. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Lisa!
Thank you! I love the shadow effect with the black and gold! 🙂
Love the heat embossed sequins! Love the shadow effect of the embossing too.
🙂
Thank you Nancy!! I love that stamp and they look great heat embossed, almost just like the real thing! 🙂
Good Morning Justin:
I think your card is just gorgeous and very chic! The shadow effect is just perfect and, of course, using the gold against the black made it stand out perfectly. I will have to try this technique with the Holiday Home set for some Christmas cards.
Temps are going up today so most of the snow should melt. The weatherman today was calling this month Snowvember! LOL Hope you day today is as fun as yesterday was for you. Don’t forget to vote!
Hello Grace,
Thank you so much! That is such a good idea to do the shadow effect with the Holiday Home Set! You’re so smart!
I hope that all of your snow melts! That was way too early for that much snow! I hope the weatherman is wrong! I had another great day! Hope that you did too! 🙂
Hi Justin, What a cool, classic card. All that heat embossing has such a striking effect, especially the sequins…who would have thought to do that but YOU! Have a wonderful day.
Hello Roseanne!
Thanks very much! I love those sequins heat embossed! They look almost like the real thing! I had a great day and hope that the same is true for you! 🙂
yep, goal achieved, awesome card. And gee thans but I d not want my weather, move east, move east. LOL
Yay! Thank you Linda! No! I don’t want your weather either! Send it way up north!! LOL! 🙂
