And that’s a wrap on another weekend! I did have a good one, always too fast but that’s the way they go. I got a lot of things accomplished today, more than I thought that I would! Love when that happens! I got some more backgrounds for cards made and some more cards finished. Went and had dinner at Brian and Kim’s, it was taco night! Yum! I also ran out to Scrap-A-Latte to drop off some projects for the store, Brian took a ride with me and all of the ladies there loved him! LOL! I came home and finished my card for today and then headed off to bed. How was your weekend?
It’s time for another Paper Players challenge. Before I get to this week’s I want to thank Joanne for choosing my card as her pick for last week’s challenge. You can see my original post here and the Paper Players post here. Now on to this week, we have a color challenge from Ann…
A fun and different color combo! I started today’s card off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and covered the front in a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. A piece of Lost Lagoon is cut out with the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die and adhered to the card with some 2-Way Glue Pen. My tag is a piece of Sahara Sand and I used the Ornate Tag Topper Punch to create it. All of the stamps are from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped onto the tag with Lost Lagoon and the greeting is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. For the butterfly I stamped him on a piece of Very Vanilla using Crisp Cantaloupe and cut him out with the Butterflies Thinlits. In the middle of the butterfly is a Naturals Designer Button with some gold thread tied in a bow. I used some Glue Dots to hold the button and the butterfly in place. A piece of 1/8″ Gold Ribbon is tied through the top and the tag is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the colors together and that stamp set is fast becoming one of my favorites! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge. Your visits always make my day a little better so thanks for stopping by and have a as good a Monday as you can! 🙂

Very nice. Love the tag. I stayed in all weekend. Did a little of this and a little of that. I rearranged my punches. I have to keep them in a draw so I finally got them all labeled on the sides. Oh they look great. I did get to make some up-coming birthday cards too. As they say . . . Mr. Brown is coming today and I can’t wait.
🙂
Thank you Nancy! Sounds like you got a lot accomplished, that’s great! What goodies did you get?! 🙂
Hey Justin, what a pretty card – another butterfly! This one isn’t scary either! That fern stamp makes a beautiful background, that will go on my wish list! I loved yesterday’s photo of the frozen water, amazing! One of these days we will swap and I’ll be complaining about the cold, nothing like the temperatures you have described though – a cold day for us is about 51 degrees, Lol! My weekend was busy but fun, the big movie night at church was great, we watched Mom’s Night Out with Patricia Heaton from Everybody Loves Raymond. Hope your week has started of great! Cheers, Kelly xxx 🙂
Hello Kelly!
Thank you very much! LOL! I’m glad that you are finding the butterflies less scary! I do love that fern! It has been pretty cold around here, especially for the sea water to freeze! I would definitely take your cold over ours! Glad that movie was a success! Monday wasn’t too bad and I have Sam to look forward to on Thursday! XOXO 🙂
Hi there Justin! Such a pretty card! I love it! I love the gold touches you added. And I seem to gravitate towards tags on my cards. So this is just a perfect card in my book! 😉 Sounds like you had a great weekend! I’m amazed at how much you get done! Our weekend was great…those birthday parties were fun! I did get some much-needed stamping time in my stamp room which always is a good thing! Enjoy your day!
Hello Karen!
Thanks! I do love a tag and a little gold, and maybe some sequins! LOL! I did have a nice weekend, they really are always too short! When I’m productive and have some fun those are always the best weekends! Glad that you had a nice time at your parties! I have to time in the Stampin’ Galley or I feel off! LOL! 🙂
Love this… I love the colors for this challenge and how you worked it. And I love how one again your tag is your centerpiece. The honeycomb background is one of my favorite dies!
Well no crafting for me but I did finish cleaning my entre scrapbook room, it felt so good. Mykids are all back at school now so playtime wil soon come.
Thanks so much Linda! Tags are such a great addition to a card! Yes, I still love the Hexagon Hive Thinlit! Cleaning your entire scrap room is a huge accomplishment! I need to do that! Enjoy the playtime! 🙂
Another great card for our Paper Players challenge this week Justin – I love how the detail is all on the tag – lots of visual interest. Great use of the hive thinlits too – I feel mine is under-utilised, it never looks as good as when you use it lol! Congrats on being my PP Pick last week too – a worthy winner
Thank you so much Joanne! I like the Hexagon Hive die but have forgotten about it! And thank you again for choosing my card!! 🙂
So soft and pretty, Jason! I love the tag! The butterfly looks fabulous with the button and gold bow. You did a great job with the challenge colors! Thanks for joining the Players again this week 🙂
Thanks very much Ann! Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
Justin, your card is so beautiful! I never think to use this die. It looks amazing with your gorgeous tag. The butterfly is perfect with the button and bow! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players this week! XX
Thank you very much Claire! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend! 🙂
