Happy Wednesday everyone! It was a little bit nicer around here weather wise yesterday, a tiny bit warmer which was appreciated! Nancy was back from LA and she gave me a video of Sam getting his first Grammy from where she was sitting. So cool to see it from another angle! Yesterday was another quiet night. Taylor came by and I made a few cards. I also made sure that I would have a little time to just sit and relax for a bit. See, I’m making an effort to do that more! Tomorrow I have a bunch of meetings at work, not my favorite way to spend the day. Oh well, soon it will be Friday! 🙂
We all know what Wednesday means… I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…
I went with a simple, subtle card. Yes, it could be a Valentine but it doesn’t have to be! LOL! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Sahara Sand that covers the entire front. On top of that is a piece of Very Vanilla, I used the “Vintage” Stampin’ Spritzer and my Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker to get my spatter. A piece of Sahara Sand 7/8″ Lace Trim is adhered around the back and the panel is then adhered to the card with Fast Fuse. I heat embossed a piece of Vellum with the Something Lacy Background Stamp and some Blushing Bride Stampin’ Emboss Powder. One of the Labels Collection Framelits cuts it out and some Multi-Purpose glue adheres it to the lace. My greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Blushing Bride on a piece of Sahara Sand. I used the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack and the Simon Says Stamp You Die to cut out some Blushing Bride. I used the same technique as I did the other day to heat embossed them multiple times with Simon Says Stamp Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder. The heart is adhered with a Glue Dot and the you with some Multi-Purpose Glue to the greeting which is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the way the clear embossing give the die cuts an epoxy look all nice and shiny! I hope that you liked my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog to see what the other designers have done with the sketch and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for coming by to see me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Love, Love, Love this card. I’ll have to try that embossing technique.
Thank yo very much Janell! 🙂
Hi Justin! What a pretty card! Love all the different textures…the shiny heart and “you” just pop. I’m going to have to try that as I love the way that looks. The embossing on vellum is so pretty too. Glad you are finding some down time for yourself. We should all try to do that every day, even if for a short time. How’s the new job going? Hope you are settling in a bit. Have an awesome day!
Hello Karen!
Thank you! I like all of the textures too! But my fave is the embossed die cut! It’s not too difficult and the results are great! It’s nice to relax a bit! We all should do it a bit more! I am hating the new job, time to look for another one! Hope that you had a nice day! 🙂
Hi Justin, this card is just beautiful!! It doesn’t matter what style you make, you always do an amazing job! That embossed vellum looks so good (if I EVER receive my order, I will try that – I have heard it is in town, but hasn’t made its way to me yet…) Glad you are taking time to relax, especially if your weekend is shaping up to be as full as the last one!! I hope your day isn’t too boring, and that you manage to stay awake for your meetings! Cheers Justin 🙂 xxx
Hello Kelly!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that! LOL! I have to track the packages, or stalk them a I say! LOL! I do like to keep busy but I am enjoying the hour or two that I set aside in the evening! I drift a little during the meetings but so far I have stayed awake! LOL! Hugs! XOXO 🙂
Wow! vintage to the max!!! Love this, especially your color choices and the lace. Down time is hard to come by but so nice.
Well the frigid weather found us, single digits, but February is half over. Life is good
Yes, it does have a bit of a vintage fell Linda! And I have been really into pinks lately! I am loving the down time!
I can’t wait for February to be completely over! I need warmth again! 🙂
