Paper Craft Crew 137

Well, wouldn’t you know it… it’s Wednesday! There is one foolproof way that I always know that, it’s Paper Craft Crew day! But before we get to that I went to the movies last night to see Insurgent with Andrew! We had some Chipotle for dinner and ten headed over to the Broadway Mall to sit in those big comfy chairs! The movie was great! Lots of special effects and a really good plot line. Thankfully they don’t really leave you hanging, we know how much Andrew hates that! He was saying in the car that it’s another seven months before we get to see the final Hunger Games. He really doesn’t like a cliffhanger at all! LOL! Sometimes that’s just the way it happens! I do try to see movies with him that aren’t trilogies or if they are they are all available for download! So, not a bad Tuesday night at all!

Like I said I know that it’s Wednesday because it time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS137 DT Sketch 3-25-2015

This was one of those cards that I put to together in my head! The card base, as is usually the case lately, is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Bermuda Bay. I used a piece of Whisper White to stamp the confetti from the Balloon Bash Photopolymer Stamp Set with Versa-Mark and some Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then again in Calypso Coral. My middle panel is a piece of the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Calypso Coral and tucked under the bottom is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. Before I adhered the white to the card I wrapped some Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine around it and tied it in a bow. I used the Angled Tag Topper Punch and some Night of Navy to make my tag and heat embossed on it are the candles also from the Balloon Bash Photopolymer Stamp Set. The “light ’em up” is heat embossed separately on a piece of Bermuda Bay and the ends are flagged. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the tag and greeting to the card. Three Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins are adhered next to the tag with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I absolutely love that greeting, makes me sing the Fall Out Boy song every time I see it! LOL! So there is my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and check out the other design team projects and make a card to enter into the gallery too! Thanks very much for stopping by to see my card for today! I love having you share in a part of my day! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  1. Happy Wednesday Justin. Great birthday card! I agree the greeting is really cute.
Glad you enjoyed the movie, looks like it is filled with special effects.

  2. Good Morning Justin:

Wow – there’s a lot going on with this sketch and card. How many hours did it take to put all of that together? I don’t think I could have come up with a card to go with that sketch. I’m pretty much a CAS stamper but I do congratulate you for being able to follow such an involved sketch.

Glad you got to spend some time with Andrew and I hope you told him we are all nagging at your to get him to make a card! LOL I’m sure that would make him just jump right in and get a card done (yeah right)! At least he would know we are thinking of him and enjoying his performances.

We actually have sunshine and it may get to 40 today! Yeah! Doing the happy dance! You have a happy hump day and enjoy the better weather. I’d say at 40 you could put the top down right? Hugs, XO! 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
Yes, there was a lot going on o n the sketch, but I like that sometimes! Thank you!
It was very nice to get to spend time with Andrew! I did tell him that you all want him to come over and make a card. Maybe we can convince him to make one for his new girlfriend! I’m sure that she would appreciate it!
It was sunny here until around 2:00 and then it started raining at 3:45. It’s supposed to rain here though Saturday morning. Still better than snow! My threshold for the top down is 60! LOL! Hugs to you! XOXO 🙂

  3. Hello Justin! Sounds like you both enjoyed the movie. Good little escape for ya. Love your card today! I do love the bright colors and the touches of gold. It looks like your confetti has exploded out of the box! I think it’s cool that you wrapped your baker’s twine around the layers and tied off with a bow vs putting it thru the hole in the tagged piece. You do make the most perfect bows I’ve ever seen! Hope your Wednesday is going good!:-)

    1. Hi Karen!
The movie was great and yes, it was a very nice escape! Thank you! I like that Designer Series Paper a lot, especially the sheets with the gold! You are not the first to comment on my bows, if you only knew how long they take me to tie! LOL! Wednesday was pretty good, hope that yours was too! 🙂

  4. Justin,
I follow your blog everyday and love all the cards you do. Some of them are just “out of this world” and really like this one a lot. I also enjoy all the pictures you post. You mention yesterday that you are coming to Allentown, PA and I am assuming it is for the Rubber stamp show. I plan to go on Sunday with a friend, she can’t make Saturday. I was wondering if you could reply to me and let me know what time and what booth you may be at. Maybe I will come Saturday to meet you.

    Kathy

    1. Hi Kathy!
Thanks for coming by to see me! I appreciate it! I sent you an email with my phone number. I should get to the show around 11:00am. Would love to get to meet you so I hope that you can come! 🙂

  5. Yahoo, the week is almost over!! Oh boy, I looked over this set and said no, now you make me want it 🙂 The confetti is sooo awesome! I love the candles and the “Light ‘Em Up!” that is definitely something I’d say, heehee. What a happy and funny card!

Did you like the 1st Divergent or the 2nd Insurgent more? I didn’t even know it was going to be a sequel. Sometimes they change the vibe between the movies and that’s what drives me batty 😉

    1. Yes Jill, it is almost over! I do like the stamp set a lot! It very casual and the Light ’em Up is just awesome!
I like both of the movies about the same. There is still one more to go after this. You know how they like a trilogy! The vibe stays the same, I think that if you like the first one you will enjoy this one! 🙂

  6. LOL, I said the same thing about Hungar Games, and i read the books so i know what happens. I felt the same way with Harry Potter, Twilight etc. It bugs me because the movies are completed, thdey just hold off on the premiers.

This card is fantastic, honestly, the sketch overwhelmed me. Great take on it, love the confetti. We had a baby earthquake here today, on;y 2.9 but a shocker. If its not mother nature with her snow shes up to something else

    1. I actually didn’t read the Divergent series books Linda! I usually do read the books first but I haven’t had a lot of time for books lately! I really do like both of the movies!
Thank you so much! I love that confetti in the stamp set! WOW! An earthquake! Yikes! Mother Nature sure seems to be angry lately! 🙂
