Well, I finally recovered from the “street meat” last night. Boy let me tell you that I felt it work it’s way through my entire digestive tract! I will definitely not partake in that delicacy ever again! LOL! That was rough! Other than that my day was relatively quiet and that is always a good thing! Little Daniel was over my parent’s when I got home form work and he wasn’t in the best mood because his back teeth are coming in. Poor little guy. I did manage to distract him for a bit with turning the light on and off. He now checks to make sure that it’s on or off too! Such a smart little man! I came home and spoke to Andrea on Skype, Kim on FaceTime and Eva on Skype while I made a few cards. A nice finish to the day!
My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…
I got a few new stamps and dies in the mail yesterday and just had to use them! My card base is yes, you guessed it, Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Basic Black. On the top is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with some DMC Gold Metallic Thread tied through one of the Gold Basic Metal Buttons. I heat embossed one of the Tea Lace Paper Doilies with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tucked it underneath the Crisp Cantaloupe piece. The hello is from a company called Altenew, they are actually based not far from where I live on Long Island! I heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Basic Black and used the coordinating die to cut it out. Some Foam Tape adheres it to the card. A very simple card but I love the way the hello fades out towards the top! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Have a terrific Thursday and thanks for visiting! 🙂

LOL! Yes, it should have struck fear into me too, well it eventually did! I have almost made a complete recovery! Thank you and a very happy Easter to you! 🙂
Good Morning Justin! What a nice card! Leave it to you to do something I’ve never heard of before…embossing on a doily! How clever! I like the look of that. Does it make the doily a little stiffer? Great colors and love the “hello”! Have a great rest of your day! 🙂
Hi there Karen!
Thank you! LOL! You know me, I emboss everything! The doily is a little stiffer for sure! The hello is awesome! Hope that you had a wonderful day! 🙂
Hi Justin, happy Good Friday! We have reached our extra long Easter weekend, Friday AND Monday off! Woo Hoo! If I can’t find any time for stamping somewhere in those 4 days, something is very wrong, lol! Poor Daniel, those teeth can cause some misery 🙁 I hope he pops them out quickly and bounces back to his happy little self! Cool card for today, very different – how did you get the hello to fade out like that, is it the stamp? Looks awesome! Hope you have a great day Justin 🙂 xoxo
Hello Kelly!
Yes, happy Friday already to you! You are always one step ahead of me! LOL! I’m very jealous that you have Friday and Monday off! You definitely need to find some time to stamp! I’m sure that Daniel will be back to his happy self in no time! Thank you! The hello is the stamp that fades, love it! My day was great and I hope that yours was too! XOXO 🙂
The gold embossing is fabulous!
Thank you Linda! 🙂
I am a doily nut! I love doliies, great creation. Love your color combo. I wish I was as motivated as you are after work. i come home and want to crash. Pretty much only play on weekends….. SAD!
Thank you so much Linda! Trust me, I want to crash sometimes too! But I love to create so once I sit down in that Stampin’ Galley I perk right back up! 🙂
Hi Justin:
I was finally able to get though to your post for today at 8:17 P.M. by taking the long road around. I don’t know what the heck is going on but I don’t like it. Your blog didn’t come through in my email this morning and when I went to it via jkcardsonline it took me to yesterdays post. So I tried again tonight and – success – it was worth the wait! LOL What a fab card and I have to agree with Linda Callahan – the embossing is top notch. Great card for a terrific sketch.
Sorry Daniel is going through the teething thing. My guess is that is as bad as any toothache. Hopefully the teeth will break through and he can be his smiling old self again. Sounds like you had a good day today. I’m crossing my fingers that whatever is going on with my inability to get either yours or Brian’s blog through my email gets cleared up soon. Have a fabulous Friday Justin. Hugs, 🙂
Hello Grace!
I can’t believe that you are having trouble getting my emails. I get one every morning literally seconds after I actually post it! I’ll have to see if I can figure out whats going on. Thank you for being so diligent in getting to me! I’m so happy that you like the card!
I would think that teeth coming in for the first time just really hurt! It’s good that we don’t remember it! I did have a good day, I try to have a good day every day despite others! LOL! You always make my day a little better! XOXO And hugs to you! 🙂
That’s soooo horrible that you got so sick!! I’m glad that you are through it too 🙂 And poor Daniel, those teeth are never any fun to have come in. Just don’t try to feel them with your finger. My kids both bit down hard and they laughed, because it felt good I guess. You think I would have learned from the first kid, nope, did it again 7 years later….
Nice simple elegantly sexy card! Hah, I fit all those in and it’s true, the black says sexy and elegant to me with the gold elegant doily. The “hello” is really cool, I didn’t notice that it faded until you pointed it out. I just got the Altenew vintage roses & my MISTI!! I’ve already used the MISTI and I do like it better than the stamp-a-ma-jig. It was a cinch to re-ink and stamp when the image didn’t come out clear the first time. I was hesitant to try to re-stamp over it, but it came out perfect! Awesome – thanks Justin 😀 You can shop for me anytime. 😉
Well Jill, we live and learn! LOL! Daniel will hopefully be better by Sunday, I feel bad but there isn’t much you can do for them. I try not to stick my fingers in his mouth, his mom said that he bites pretty hard! That’s funny that you did that!!
I like that threw in sexy! I agree! I love that hello! The Vintage Roses are so awesome and the MISTI makes them really easy to do! Glad that you are liking it! 🙂
Sorry you got sick on the street meat. Your friends obviously do not know the right corners to buy from! LOL. Nice card. It’s soooooo golden. LOL
LOL! Me too Michael! I’ll know better for next time! Obliviously they do not know! Thank you! Yes, it’s quite golden, but I do enjoy a little gold! 🙂
So glad you are feeling better. Yikes…. The colors on this are fab and I just love that hello stamp (been eying it myself). Elegant and such a great take on the sketch. Glad to see you this week, as always!
Thank you Jen! I will not be having street meat ever again! LOL! Altenew has some really grate stamps! Nice and different! Always happy to play along with you! Have a lovely week! 🙂
