It was a lovely day yesterday, nice and sunny and a bit warmer than it has been. When I got home from work little Daniel was at my parents. It’s hard to believe but he gets cuter every time that I see him. We had dinner and then Daniel and I played ball on the front porch. He was throwing it over the railing and I was catching it. Then he decided that it would be fun to give me a kiss through each of the banisters! He was so proud of himself! Like I said he just keeps getting cuter! Sandy also stopped by for a bit and then I headed over to Heather’s for Whiskey and Wine night! Always good to have some alone time with Heather!
So… today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…
I need to add some masculine cards to my stash so I had some fun with the By the Tide Set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel on the front is Soft Sky and I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a piece for my shaker. I used Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste and the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil to create the shiny bubbles. Some Fun Foam with a matching circle cut out is adhered to the back with SNAIL. I filled the shaker with some seed beads and covered the back with a piece of Vellum and then adhered the panel to the card. My fish is from the By the Tide Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with a eyeshadow applicator using Island Indigo, Garden Green and Calypso Coral Ink. I used a die to cut out the fish and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Island Indigo and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the card and coated the fishย in Wink of Stella Clear Glitter for a little sparkle! I love the look of the Transparent Texture Paste and the neat seed beads! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for visiting me today! Have a terrific Thursday! ๐

I actually said out loud, “Oh, nice, Oh Boy!!!” First I thought it was a great masculine card, then I noticed it was a shaker card, and then those bubbles on the outside of the card are just too fantastic. Then the perfectly placed sequins. I like to look at the card first and see what I can figure out and then go back and read your description. Your little candle holder reminds me of the underwater lanterns too, or a diver’s helmet. I guess you can tell I really liked this card.
๐
Woo hoo! Thank you so much Nancy! I am so happy that you really like the card!! Yay! Hope that you had a great day! ๐
This is a great card birthday card! The seed beads really make it feel like you are at the aquarium. Like how you colored the fish and cut out. By the Tide is one of my favorite sets.
Love hearing about Daniel — I agree he is so cute.
Thanks so much Brenda! I have been wanting to use the seed beads since I picked them up in a shaker card with the fish! Glad that you enjoy my rambling about Daniel too! ๐
I love this, Justin! The bubbles are so subtle but add so much! And I love the sequin bubbles, too. Great card!
Thanks Jeanne! Love that Glossy Transparent Embossing Paste! ๐
Good morning Justin!
Sounds like you had a great day yesterday and I love that Daniel wanted to give you a kiss between each of the banisters! I mean really, how cute is that!
Such a gorgeous card today. I love when you make shaker cards. One question, where did you get the die to cut the fish? I have that stamp set and never knew there was a die to go with it! Your coloring of the fish is absolutely fabulous and since I have so many fishing lovers in the family I know they would just love it if I colored the fish like you do. I use the eye shadow applicators to color images but only with chalks. I never thought of using them with ink pads. See, I learn something new from you every day! Beautiful job.
No big plans for today. Instead I’m going to visit a friend and perhaps do some shopping. Hopefully the sun will come out and give us the kind of beautiful day the weatherman predicted. Tomorrow is Friday – I bet that makes you happy! LOL Love and hugs! XO ๐
Hi there Grace!
I did have a nice day! Daniel is just so cute I really can’t stand it! He is just such a love!
Thank you! I haven’t made a shaker in a while, I thought it was time for one! I got the die from DiesBy Dave, he has since been closed down but if you email me I may be able to help! I love to use the eyeshadow applicators to color in things, especially that fish!
It sounds like a very nice day for you my friend! A little visit and some shopping sounds great! I hope that the sun did come out for you! You know that I’m happy about it being Friday! Love to you! XOXOXO ๐
Love this card Justin! Just wondering if you could share where you got the die for the fish?
Thank you Laurene! I got them from DiesByDave but he has since closed. ๐
Everything Nancy F. said I ditto! Wow, how do you take our collective breath away with these cards? Gorgeous and incredible! I guess you can tell you are a huge success with this card today. Thank you again. I wish I had some extra time right now to copy this card, but I am still finding items/boxes/piles to add to our Rubber Rummage Sale next week and I am helping revise/write resumes and cover letters for friends. Talk about pressure…I want every little word to be perfect! HA! Puppy is at the vet today for the full treatment of shots and grooming, her “spa” day. Time for some brunch. Have a great Thursday everyone! Hi to Daniel — would have loved a pic of him kissing through the banisters. Nancy B
Yay! Thank you very much Nancy! I am so happy that I still can take your breath away! That makes me very happy! I need to get my stamps together and finally part with some of them! I have way too many! Wow, how lucky are your friends to have you to do that for them?! Sounds like a not so nice day for the puppy! Hope you enjoyed your brunch and the rest of your day! I will definitely take a picture of Daniel next time! ๐
This is a great card for the men in my life…a fish farting bubbles!
Miss Emillie – that was hysterically funny! LOL ๐
i burst out laughing when I saw that too Grace! ๐
LMAO!! That’s great Miss Emilie! Thanks!! ๐
Hi Justin!
Love this card!!! I’m guessing the fish die is “dies by Dave”? However, when I go to his easy shop, there is nothing there. Is he still in business. Loe the bubbles and the shaker part and the colors. Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Hello Gerri!
Thank you! Yes, it’s Dave’s but Stampin’ Up! shut him down! What a bummer! I’m going to get in touch with him, I’ll let you know. Glad that you enjoyed the card! ๐
I thought he might have trouble with SU. bummer. Yes, please let me know.
Re-read my post. I really need to check my spelling before posting. And I used to be a QA Tester before I retiredโฆlol.
I will have more info tomorrow (oops! Today!) Gerri!
LOLOL! We all make mistakes! I do all the time! ๐
This card is FAB! I’m heading off to the craft store for some little beads for a shaker card now! lol ๐
Thank you Tina! Love the seed beads for the shakers! ๐
WOW! Love this, I struggle with masculine cards, once again you nailed it. Love the bubbles on the card and the fish is awesome. Gret eye catcher.
Trying to get some flowers planted, getting a late start due to vacation. Temps are going to drop 30 degrees tonite, will summer ever come?
Thank you so much Linda! I do have little bit of an edge with the man cards! LOL! It’s unusually chilly here too, I need at least the 70’s by now, is that too much to ask for?!?!
Ok, inquiring minds want to know how you cut out the fish with a die, when SU doesn’t have a matching die. Where can I get this?! The entire card is amazing. Love the colors, the clear paste. all of it!
The die is from DiesBy Dave but his shop is closed for a while. I will see what I can do. Thank you! ๐
That would be awesome!
I have emailed him to see what we can do.
I emailed him also but I haven’t heard anything back and it has been a while. I hope he doesn’t think I’m actually the SU police or anything. I love his stuff and I want that rose plate too. Sigh.
Bummer Theresa! I wil send him and email and see what’s going on!
Love everything about this card, the bubbles especially.
Thanks very much Lynne! ๐
Such a fabulous way to use By the Tide and a perfect masculine card, Jason! All the details are awesome and the theme is carried throughout the card with them. Especially love the clear embossing paste and sequins. Really great card. Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
Love love love this card, Justin! Does Renee carry the Ranger transparent texture paste in her store!
Thank you Rosemarie! Yes, Renee does carry Ranger Texture Paste! ๐
