Freshly Made Sketches 192

Hello there and how are you today? I’m ok, I did find out today that I won’t be picking up my car until Friday. Why is it that people can never stick to a time?! Oh well, what can you do?! Today was another gorgeous day! Sunny and a little less humid, perfect top down weather! Work, let’s skip that! LOL! As soon as I got in the car I put the top down and was immediately in my happy place! I came home and Skyped with Andrea while I made my card for today. Later on I went and met Michael, Sue and her husband for dinner at Texas Road House. I had a delicious Caesar salad and got to give Sue her birthday card. She loved it, but then again she told me that she was going to steal it when she stopped by my house last week! LOL! Dinner with friends is always a nice way to end the day!

My post for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge but before I get to that I want to thank Kim for choosing me as her Prince for last week’s challenge. You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week’s sketch from Jen M….

Freshly Made Sketches 192

I wanted to use a star but that was too obvious! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Woven Embossing folder to emboss the basket texture on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. Some Fun Foam, SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue adhered it to the card. My circle is a piece of Daffodil Delight that I cut out with the Circles Framelits. The outer circle is cut from some Cucumber Crush using the Simon Says Stamp Dots Circles Die. My smile is cut from Watermelon Wonder with the Simon Says Stamp Smile Circle and they are both adhered to the card with 2-Way Glue. A few Pretty Pink Posh Watermelon and Shamrock Sequins are adhered around the circle and then the circle is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another card with some bright colors but my favorite part is that Embossing Folder, such amazing texture! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you, as always, for spending a little time with me today! Have an amazing Thursday peeps! 🙂

  1. Oho oops! Sorry about your car! Should have checked here first before leaving my comment on SC.
    Congrats for being the Prince.
Today’s card is so much fun and cheerful, very summery. Absolutely love that embossing folder! I can see little baskets……
Well too bad you have to wait one more day but it will be on your fav day, Friday! Double the fun! Cheers! 🙂

    1. Yeah, what can you do Louise?! Hopefully it will be ready today! Fingers crossed!
      Thank you!
I’m glad that you like the happy colors on today’s card! The embossing folder is just too cool, well they all are!
Like I said, fingers crossed for the car today! 🙂

  2. Good Morning Justin:

That basket weave EF is quite an eye catcher. The texture is amazing and really, who would think that squishing a piece of paper between two pieces of plastic hinged together could end up looking so amazing? You really are on a “summery” card making roll this week. It must be the wind blowing on you while driving your convertible with the top down that is inspiring you. Now tomorrow, you get a new convertible and I bet you can’t wait, I know I wouldn’t be able to. I mean really -Friday, new convertible, friends here from afar – can life get any better than that? I doubt it. Enjoy every minute of it my friend. Love and Hugs – XO 🙂

    1. Hi Grace!
Yes, I love those Next Level Embossing Folders! I have 6 of them! It really is amazing when you think about it right?! Ordinary paper immediately transformed into a basket! I am on a summer roll this week, I’m not usually a bright color guy, don’t know why that is either! The convertible right have something to do with that, or other happy things! Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well with the car today! It is going to be a really good Friday and I will enjoy it no matter what happens! Hope that you have an amazing day! XOXOXOXO 🙂

  3. I really need to just to go Simon Says Stamp and get some of these terrific dies! And that embossing folder is the bee’s knees! Love it. Amazing texture is right! Love the bright colors….great card Justin! Thanks for sharing. Hope your car is ready tomorrow. 🙂

    1. LOL! Yes, you do Bobbi! Especially the embossing folder, although, that I got from Amazon! Glad that you enjoyed the card! I hope the car is ready today too! 🙂

  4. I’ll say it again. I *LOVE* that embossing folder!! Love the card and all the bright colors!

  5. What a beautiful EF! I like your card and the different products. Sorry about your car, but at least you will have it before the weekend to enjoy it. How is your Apple watch doing?
    🙂

    1. It definitely is one of the more cool EF’s that I have seen Nancy! Love those Simon dies too! Thank you! Fingers crossed for the car today! I am still loving my Apple watch, the new upgrade to the OS in fall will make it even better! 🙂

  6. Hi Justin,
Another happy card… I love it. That embossing folder is pretty amazing.
Your card from last week deserved to be picked. LOVE that card.
I must have missed a post. Are you getting a new car? Or having one repaired?

    1. Hello Gerri!
Thank you! Yes, bright and cheery! The Ef is just the coolest!
I appreciate that! I did really like the card from last week, simple but neat!
I am supposed to pick up my new to me Sabb 9-3 convertible today! Fingers crossed!! 🙂

  7. Congrats on your win! Great card, love your fun color choices and of course the embosng folder that I had to have. Summery card!

    1. Thank you so much Linda! Yes, that EF is definitely a must have! Have a great Friday! 🙂

  8. That woven embossing folder is *great*! It looks so real, so 3-dimensional. I’ve got to get one of those. I agree that the embossing makes this card; the texture makes the design pop. One of the things that I love about the Internet is finding new treasures that I just have to have! Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thank you El! Yes, I do love the Next Level EF’s from We R Memory Keepers! It does give the card such amazing texture!:-)
