Seeing the weekend end is such a bummer! I did have another absolutely fantastic weekend so no complaining! Saturday in Manhattan with Michael and friends at The Ink Pad and then a nice lazy Sunday morning. After a late breakfast with Heather Michael and I worked on some projects and he made two cards and did a post! You have to go and take a look and see what he made by stopping by his BLOG! Around 3:00 we headed out to Michaels and then stopped for some pizza for lunch before taking a little trip over to see my friend Chantal. It has been way too long since I have seen her! We had a nice chat and then stopped back at my house before going to Long Beach. I forget how nice it is to go to the beach and just walk along the ocean and that’s just what we did. Here are a few pictures…
A very nice way to end a great weekend!
But Monday’s are pretty good too because that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…
I got a new toy over the weekend and was dying to try it out! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad on the lower half and across the top of that is a piece of Real Red. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black above the Real Red. The lifesaver and the sailboat are also from the same stamp set and are also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used Copic Markers to color them in and then cut them out with my Paper Snips. My shaker pocket is created using a stamp pocket from Simon Says Stamp and the new We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool. I filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins and then adhered the lifesaver and the Smoky Slate half circle to the pocket. Some SNAIL and Fun Foam then holds the pocket to the card. A little Foam Tape adheres the sailboat to the half circle and a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars are randomly adhered with some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. I love the Fuse Tool, especially for creating a fun and easy shaker pocket! I’m also having fun playing with the Copic Markers, I still have a long way to go with my coloring however! I really hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Be sure and stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Teams cards too! Thank you very much for taking some time to visit with me and share in some of my day! I really do appreciate you stopping by and I wish you all a marvelous Monday! π

Love the Fuse Tool for making the shaker pocket! Thank you Kathy! π
Great card, Justin. I always like a shaker card. Your pictures look as though you had another fabulous weekend.
Love that card and stamp set. I also love your weekends – always spending time with friends and family, eating at different places, creating cards, and a walk on the beach. Really nice.
Thank you very much Carol! I’m so happy that I get to share my weekends with you! I am having a wonderful summer!! I don’t want it to end! π
Thank you HJ! I like the Fuse Tool to make the pocket for the shaker! I had an awesome weekend! π

Hi Justin:
I’ve missed you and now that my daughters have returned home I’m playing email catch up once again. I absolutely loved Friday and Saturday’s blog entries as much as today’s. The photos are such fun to see and allow me to live an exciting life vicariously through your photos – LOL! Well, the truth is I’m old and boring so listening to all your adventures makes me smile. I just love that you have so many friends and manage to enjoy every moment of your weekends.
Can you tell us a little bit more about your fuse tool? I’ve never even heard of that and it sounds quite interesting.
Your card today was magnificent! I love the dimension of the card pieces and the red, white and blue is so appropriate for the month of July. As always just a fantastic job. Love and hugs, XO π
Hello Grace!
I’m playing catch up on the comments again! Busy busy lately! I hope that you had the best time on you Minion weekend! I’m glad that you enjoyed the cards and the pictures! I’m sure that you are neither old nor boring! I really am having the best summer!
The Fuse Tool is really cool. It has this little end that looks sort of like a spur and it heats up, when you run it along the plastic it seals it shut! You can use it to make a pocket for anything!
I had fun making the card and playing with Copics to color it in! I need lots of practice! LOL! Love to you my friend! XOXOXO π
Good Monday Morning to you, sounds like your week-end was great (good for You), ours out here was pretty great as well. THIS CARD IS AWESOME……TFS
Attending convention, was wondering is we had to miss you some more : – )
Hello Penny!!
So nice to see you here on the blog! I have been absent from Stampin’ Connection lately and have missed you! My weekend was fantastic, so happy to hear that yours was too!
Thank you!! SO glad that you like the card!
I am not attending Convention this year, going to London instead! π
Fabulous take on the sketch. Love the shaker element!!
Thank you Marisa! π
Fantastic! Realy love how you worked with thhis months kit. Cpoics are the best, I honestly would be lost without them, shading is so easy now. I spent my weekend working on the June SU Paper Pumpkin, 8 cards made and three extras and still quite a bit left over. I’m so far behind on these kits and the SS kits
Honestly, How is the fuse.? i just purchased on over the weekend, should get by Friday. I read nothing but negative comments, it seems like a common thread was there was a learning curve and folks were impatient. The UTube videos looked like the product was fun.
Thank you very much Linda! I do love the SSS kits! I have to keep playing with my limited Copics! Now I want them all! I have so many Stampin’ Up! kits, I always use the stamps buy not the kit! And I get two a month! I need to fix that!
I do like the Fuse Tool! You definitely have to take your time when you run it along to seal the plastic together. As long as you are slow and precise it works great! π
Sorry, forgot to say your pictures are goegeous. I so wish I lived near the ocean. My son did a Half Iron Man on Sunday, so we spent the day at Racine Wisconsin Beach. Just beautiful. He finished 128 out of 2,000. The kids a monster!
Yay! So happy that you enjoyed the pictures too! Sadly I forget that I’m so close to the beach! Your son sounds pretty awesome!! Good for him!! π
Everything about this post is superior! The photos, the card, the colors, the tableau, all wow, wow, wow! Are you getting tired of accolades? What more can I say? Nancy B
Woo hoo! So glad that you really enjoyed the post! Nope, I never get tired of the accolades!! I really appreciate them!! XO π
Fabulous use of the sketch, Justin, and I love how you photograph your cards. Your weekend sounds heavenly, especially from my sticky perch in 100 degree southeastern Oklahoma! π
Thank you very much Carole! My weekend was just wonderful! I hope that you have a great week! π
Such a cool card! Love the sailing theme and that cool shaker pocket.
Thank you very much Julee! I’m a little hooked on the nautical theme lately! π
Great design, Justin! Looks like you were inspired by your visit to the beach. Your card is *so* cute! For me, the bling in the shaker pocket remind me of seashells and reflect the blues and greens of the seashore. *Love* it!!!
Thank you El! Yes, I definitely was inspired by the beach! Love your description of the sequins! π
