Hi there! I aim to be a bit more productive today than I was yesterday! After my lazy morning Michael and I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte. The weather was perfect yesterday for a nice ride in the convertible. When we finished there we headed to Friday’s for some dinner and then came back to the house and saw Taylor for a bit. We watched a little TV and then Michael went back to Sue’s and I made a card and puttered around a bit before calling it a night. Let’s see what today brings!
Oh, I almost forgot! Michael made a super clean card for the Freshly Made Sketches 200th sketch! You can check it out by visiting his blog HERE!
The card is a somewhat simple birthday card, I wanted to use a new die that Michael had gotten me! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I put a strip of Little B Washi Tape down the right side of a piece of Mint Macaroon and adhered that to the card. Another piece of Basic Black is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied though the top. I adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The star is that new die I mentioned from Spellbinders called Shining Star. I cut it out from Gold Foil Sheet and adhered it to the tag with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of Mint Macaroon and also adhered to the tag with Foam Tape. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins completes the card. I love the Mint Macaroon and Black together and that star is just so cool! I hope that you enjoyed today’s birthday card! Thank you for talking some time out of your day to come by and visit me! Have an excellent Sunday! 🙂

UGH . . . said my request time expired and I lost my comment. I think I said . . .
I love the shooting star and the Washi Tape with the roses. I like how the black makes the Mint Macaron pop.
Enjoy your day.
🙂
Oh NO! I hate when that happens! Sorry! Glad that you enjoyed the card! Love that star die! Hope that you had a nice Sunday! 🙂
Wow! Love this card! That star die cut is beautiful!! Love how you put it on the black tag. And the sequins…. love it all.
Thank you Gerri! Yes, that star die is really cool! Sequins make everything better, right?!?! 🙂
Love this card! That gold foil really makes the star pop. Thanks for the shout out!!
Thank you Michael and thank you for the die, love it! Always happy to send my peeps over to see your talent! 🙂
The star die with the trailing flourish is absolutely gorgeous, especially in the gold foil paper. This card gets a WOW rating! When exactly does Michael go back to Brasil (even though I’m sure you don’t want to acknowledge the date)? I like the card he posted on his blog — so simple and elegant. Well, take advantage of Sunday! Love to you all! Nancy B
Thanks Nancy! Yes, I love that die! Michael goes back this coming Saturday and no, I don’t want to think about it. Glad that you enjoyed his card, very CAS but love it too! Love back to you! 🙂
Good Morning Justin:
That star die is fabulous. When I first saw the card I thought you had embossed the star with ultra thick embossing powder so I was surprised to find out that it was cut from the gold foil sheet. I think I got that impression because of the deeply embossed image on the star and its “tail”. Great card and, of course as usual, your twine is placed absolutely perfectly! I still can’t get that right on my cards! You have yourself a Super Sunday and don’t think about tomorrow – that dreaded M word! LOL Luv and hugs, XO 🙂
Hi Grace!
Thanks! Yes, love that star! Michael thought that I did the same thing to the star! It’s a great die! That Hemptique Twine is great because you can sort of shape it! It’s my last Monday at work for a while so it’s all good! Love to you! XOXOXO 🙂
