Retro Strong Man Birthday

Yes, I had a lazy Sunday morning again! We got back to Long Island around 6:30 last night. I came home for a bit and unpacked and then Michael came over so that we could stop by Brian & Kim’s for Kevin’s Birthday party. My friend Lorren was there and she had asked where Michael lived and he said Brasil. I said that he had grown up in Hicksville and so had Lorren. It turns out that they lived on the same block only a few houses away from one another! Michael knows Lorren’s family and they spent some time catching up on the rest of the neighbors! It really is a small world! We came back to my house and watched some TV before calling it a night. This morning was spent chatting about the scrapbook show and surfing the internet. It’s fast becoming my favorite way to spend a Sunday morning! I have a few pictures that I took from the top of the parking garage in Lancaster. Just really cool buildings and one of me and Michael.

It was little windy, gotta love that hair! LOL!

I needed to play with some of the goodies that I picked up from the Scrapbook show so I used some on today’s card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I used my new Crop-a-dile Corner Chomper to round the corners on the card, background and bottom of the tag. The background is a piece of paper from Fancy Pants called Everyday Circus and it’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. My tag is a piece of Very Vanilla, I used the Ornate Tag Topper Punch for the top and stamped the strong man from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. His pants and shoes are colored in with Copics. The greeting is also from the same set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Real Red and cut out with a die from Dies By Dave. I tied some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine though the top. The cool ViewMaster is a die from Echo Park and is cut out from some more Basic Black and tucked under the tag that’s adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I love the retro feel to the paper, I think that it goes just perfectly with the strong man! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! 🙂

  1. Great card, Justin. I love all the different elements you used and the DSP. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Lancaster.

  2. That’s an eye-catching card that pulls you in right away! Great pictures of Lancaster and you & Michael. Glad you had a good time in Lancaster and found “at least” a few things you “had” to buy. 🙂 You have to visit again when you can stay longer. It’s beautiful country with so much to see and do.

    1. Thank you Carol! I had a great time in Lancaster! Glad that you enjoyed the pictures! You thought that I wouldn’t find some stuff to buy?! LOL! It really is pretty down there and I will definitely go back! 🙂

  3. I have just found your blog/site ! LOVE the cards and shout of thanks for all the inspiration I’ve received ! I am living vicariously through the pics of NYC and area. (My dream as a teen was to have an NYC apt. and be a Broadway performer ! In more ‘mature’ years, is ‘wisdom’ really a cheap psuedonym for unrequited dreams ??)
Keep up the great cards !

    1. Thank you so much Patricia! I’m so happy to have you along! I’m so grateful that I get to share little bits of my life and that you enjoy it! Yes, I have many “unrequited” dreams too! If only we could do it again! You’re never too old, so they say! Thank you again for stopping by! 🙂

  4. Lancaster is beautiful, I say that about everything out East. Maybe in my next life I’ll live there, Great pics, you had an awesome weekend. LOL, lets se more of what you had to buy! Great card, sings out “Macho Man”

Went to a Farmers Market yesterday and bought some fresh peaches. Off to make peach crisp, love summer peaches. Then need to get crafty, sadly tomorrow is Monday

    1. LOL! I think that you should and will Linda! I’m going to live in Europe my next one! I did have an awesome weekend! Yes, the card is very Macho Man! LOL!
Mmm, I love fresh peaches! Your peach crisp sounds lovely! I’ll take some please! 🙂

  5. Hey Justin, I had to Google Lancaster to find out where it was, it is very pretty! I love the long church spires in America, there’s one in Mystic, Connecticut which I just adored! It must be nice traveling around with a friend or three, visiting random craft shops/events! We are planning a couple of trips for next year, so I can’t complain too much… Cute card for today, that viewfinder brings back memories – my friend had a Woody Woodpecker one which was awesome!! Thanks for the photos, keep ’em coming! Cheers Justin xoxo 🙂

    1. Hi Kelly!
Yes, Lancaster is a very pretty place, but PA is very all over! Yes, I know the one in Mystic that you speak of! I too like when just a few things peek out over the rest of the buildings! You really did love CT! I love road trips and it’s nice when I’m not the one driving! I love that viewfinder, I too had one when I was a kid! Hugs to you! XOXOXO 🙂
