The lack of motivation is real! It took me all day yesterday to make my cards for card class and one more. I guess that I’m suffering from PVD, Post Vacation Depression! I need to get out today and do some stuff, anything! LOL! I’ll go by Scrap-A-Latte and drop off the cards and then maybe take a drive somewhere, that helps to clear the mind sometimes.
The other card that I made last night is a just for fun one. I always find it funny that people think that a birthday card actually has to say happy birthday on the outside when there are so many other greetings that work! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I ran a strip of My Minds Eye My Story Washi Tape down the left side of the card. Next up is a piece of My Minds Eye My Story 6×6 Paper with the bottom flagged. A circle of the same paperΒ is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle Dies to back my greeting which is from the Simon Says Stamp Oh Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink. My feathers and twigs are from the same set and are stamped in Teeny Bikini, Rosie Cheeks and Goldenlocks. They, along with the greeting, are cut out with the matching Happy Day Craft Dies. I adhered some Fun Foam that I cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits to the back of the stitched circle and greeting and the adhered everything to the card with SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Ballerina Pink Iridescent Sequins finish off the card. I think that Oh Happy Day works pretty well for a birthday, don’t you?! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and I thank you, as always, for taking some time to stop by and see me! Here’s to a more productive Sunday! LOL! Have a great day! π

Oh Happy Day to you to Justin. Don’t you just hate the PVD! I am so happy, though, that you had such a wonderful time. Today should be a great day for a drive, especially with the roof down. (Unless you like to watch football . . . I do!). I like the colors of this card and the placement of the layers.
π
Yes Nancy, I hate PVD! But I did have the best time! I did go for a drive and it did help. No football for me! Glad that you like the card! π
Hi Justin,
Beautiful card. Love the feathers!
Sorry you are feeling down. Getting back to work should help take your mind off it. A little anyway.
Feeling a little down myself. We are trying to decide whether to move to a +55 community an hour and a half away. One day I’m all for itβ¦ the next day I’m terrified of being that far from friends and family. Big decision.
Hello Gerri!
Thank you so much! You know how I feel about feathers! LOL!
I am just not myself lately, not sure why but I’m sure that it will pass. Going back to work is the last thing that I want to do! LOL! I can imagine what you are going through, I on the other hand would like to move, but I too would miss my friends and family too much. I’m sure that you will make the right decision. Bug hugs to you! π
You’re still in the groove with the card making! Love that design. After the summer you had, and your trip to London and Paris, you’re entitled to a little PVD! Just remember the saying: Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened!
The mojo is just a little slow lately Carol! Thank you! I didi have an amazing summer and a great trip so reality at this point is not what I want! LOL! I will try and remember that! Thanks! π
Oh Carol – I had never heard that expression. I’m going to write it down so I don’t forget it and embroider it on one of my quilt labels. Thank you.
It’s great isn’t it Grace?!
Hi Justin:
I mean really. How could you NOT feel in a funk. You had a fantastic summer with Michael and then he had to return home, then you spent time in London and Paris and you had to come home and now you actually have to go back to work – YUK! I love what Carol had to say, she is so right. Now I’m going to tell you what I used to tell my children when they got all sad and cranky because summer was over – “O.K. – go feel sorry for yourself for half an hour. After that pull up your big person panties, put a smile on your face and get back to enjoying life!” Count your blessings – your cup certainly overflows with them.
Meanwhile – Love the feathers, love the card. I bet you got a ton of beautiful cards for your birthday. Love and hugs, XO π
Hey Grace!
Yes, it’s all that’d some more too. Carol is right and I do smile overtime I think of the summer and the trip. I just don’t feel myself lately. I know that I have a pretty good life, something is just off. I’m sure that it will clear itself up.
Thank you! You know I love my feathers! I did get some nice birthday cards! Love and hugs to you and I’m looking forward to October!! XOXO π
PVD… I like that. Well, you may be in a funk but Mojo has not left you, this creation is awesome!!!!
It’s a pretty good diagnosis Linda! LOL! Making the cards helps me focus on happy things! Thank you! π
Oh, Justin, I think you have jet lag! The summer flew by so quickly — Wednesday is the first day of Autumn! Carol’s saying is so positive. Love it, Carol! Justin, your card today is so pretty. I can see it in any color, meant for anybody. Have a terrific Monday, my friend!!! Nancy B
LOL! No, I was smart about the jet lag and didn’t have any! The summer did fly by and so did my trip. I am not looking forward to the winter at all!
Thanks! It is a fun layout and the feathers, well, you know about the feathers! I hope that you enjoy your Monday too! π
*LOVE* your card, Justin! I love the die cuts, the layers, and the design. And the colors speak to me in a very good way. Decades ago, I spent 4 weeks traveling through several countries in Europe, enjoying the architecture, the art, the scenery, the history, the wonder of it all. After I got back home, I kept going over my visit in my mind, thinking about how awesome it was. It was a bit of a letdown to get back to the reality of my day-to-day life. My husband and I haven’t gotten back to Europe yet, but we hope to. Problem is that I can’t leave my “baby” Italian Greyhound, who hasn’t been away from us for even a day since she was born in 2007. LOL! We’ve taken her with us on every trip we’ve taken here in the US. Thanks *so* much for sharing your trip and your art, Justin!
Thank so much El! Sounds like you had a very nice trip! I am with you on the let down of being back to reality, especially after the amazing summer that I had! Aww, I’m sure that your little baby would understand! She sounds adorable! π
