Here we go again, it’s Monday! I enjoyed my time in Manhattan yesterday visiting Jon and Mary in the morning and then meeting up with Kim at The Ink Pad. I got some new Mama Elephant and then we headed over to the Greenwich Village Antiquarian Book Fair. It was nice to see all of the old books and they had so many that were signed copies. From there we went to A Salt & Battery for some fish and chips for lunch, delicious! I got the train from Penn Station and was home by 4:00. Heather text me and asked me to meet her at Wise Eyes to help her pick out new glasses. They wanted $440 for the frames and lenses! I told her that we should go to Warby Parker in the city, the glasses there are either $99 or $129 for everything! We’re going to take a ride in on Wednesday evening. Taylor and Keira stopped by for a little bit and I watched some TV before calling it a night. Today I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte all day so come by and say hi if you are in the area!
The best part about Monday is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…
As soon as I saw the circles I thought shaker card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of paper form the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection 6×6 Paper Pad and used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut it out. To cut my four circles I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. A piece of Acetate is adhered behind the circles with Scor-Tape and then some Foam Tape is used to make the wells. I added some Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter to them and then adhered a piece of Solar White 80lb to the back. On the other side I added some Fun Foam and then adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner Grand Adhesive. The stamped greetings are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Rosie Cheeks and Lake Shores Ink. I used a 1″ Circle Punch and my Scissors to cut them out and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Glossy Accents to the 100% Happy, Smile and Hello on the paper and the card is finished! I think that patterned paper is pretty cool and lends itself well to the circle shakers! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Oh Justin – you have boggled my mind! Not just one shaker area but 4! Are you showing off for me? LOL This card is fabulous. I have to admit all the stuff for my first shaker card is still waiting for me to get to it. One of these days I will.
Glad you had a good day in the City yesterday. The weather was perfect for it. We hunkered down and watched the Daytona 500 and to celebrate the official start of race season I bought a few pounds of shrimp to nibble on with some really spicy cocktail sauce and fresh lemon. I think the hubs and I were both in race withdrawal so this was a really good fix. Today it’s back to the normal routine. It’s cooler than yesterday but the sun is shining so I’m going to run errands. You enjoy a Marvelous Monday please. Love and hugs, XXOO π
Yay! Its not often that I get to do that! I am showing off a little bit for you! LOL! We need to get you to make a shaker!!
Yup, the city was fun and lunch was delicious!! I saw that it was Daytona Day and though of you! Your shrimp to nibble on sounds yummy! It’s cooler here too but sunny, Ill be indoors all day so it’s all good! Have fun running your errands! Love and hugs to you! π

Oh Justin,
Those are the coolest “portholes” of celebration. I bet if a child gets this it may turn into a musical instrument with all the shaking. How utterly Clever!!!
Thanks you Barb! Yes, it would be fun for a little one to have and I’ll bet it would be shaken for a while! π
