Let’s see… what is today?! Why I think that it’s FRIDAY!! Yesterday was a pretty nice day here. There were a few brief showers but in between I managed to get the top down in the car! I ran some errands with Heather and then spent a little time with Daniel before heading over to Scrap-A Latte for card class. Andrew and Kayleigh picked up some Blaze Pizza and we had dinner before class started. It was a fun time, Thursday’s are a little more laid back than Friday’s. After class I caught up with Danielle and on the way home I stopped at Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday. I have some crafty things to get done this morning before heading back over to Scrap-A-Latte for the second night of class. I’ll post the cards that we made on Sunday and also have a little surprise too!
Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our sketch challenge…
The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered two strips, one of Silver Glimmer Paper and one Bermuda Bay to a piece of Black 110lb, stapled them with my Tiny Attacher and then adhered the panel to the card base. Next up is a piece of Cucumber Crush that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Waves 3D Embossing Folder. That is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My main panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay, I stamped the greeting and the map from the Concord & 9th Map Love Photopolymer Stamp Set. The map is stamped in Mama Elephant Mojito Pigment Ink and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. For the greeting I used Onyx Black and then adhered the panel to the card with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. To give it a little sparkle I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Peacock Feather Iridescent, Shamrock and Sparkling Clear Sequins with Multi-Matte Medium. I love bold look of the Mojito Inkย on the Bermuda Bay card stock and of course that 3D Embossing Folder is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Hi Justin:
I had one of those lousy sleep nights last night so when I saw your card your embossed image jumped into my head as a nice, soft, welcoming, comfortable mattress calling my name to go back to bed! LOL I do love those 3D embossing folders. Using the Bermuda Bay for the ocean and mojito pigment ink is perfect for your stamped terra firma! Since I love the look of maps, this card was perfect in my opinion.
Can’t wait to see what you made in class. Your cards are always such fun. Today is housework day for us (UGH). I’m starting to not like Fridays as I did when I worked full time. LOL You have yourself a Fantastic Friday and enjoy your class tonight. Love and hugs to you my friend! XXOO ๐
Hello Grace!
Oh no! That’s no fun! Yes, the Embossing Folder does look like a nice soft mattress! LOL! I think the 3D Folders are the best! I also like the way the pigment ink looks so nice and bright on top of the Bermuda Bay! Thank you!
I’m so happy that you find my class cards fun! Everyone really liked them this month! I did some housework the other day, not fun but necessary. Class was great and so was the rest of the day! Hope that your Friday was good despite the housework! Love and hugs! XOXO ๐
Since I love to travel, I love your card today. The world stamp is perfect in mojito on the Bermuda Bay. The different elements you use on your cards inspire me to think outside the box. Have a great Friday.
Thank you HJ! I do love that stamp set and the EF is just plain fun! I had a fun Friday, hope that you did too! ๐
Great card and colors! I do love maps and this one is terrific. Yes, another week goes by and Friday is still a fun day even in retirement! (Grace, you need to change housework day to Thursday and enjoy Friday.) Justin, did I miss something about you and Heather? I don’t want to embarrass either one of you, but you two seem to spend a lot of time together. I’m happy that you have a lovely companion! Okay, enough personal stuff…
My back is better. I want to spend some time getting a couple of cards done today for as long as I can sit. Have a wonderful day! Hugs, Nancy B
Thank you Nancy! The map image in the set is cool, it’s a good size! I think that is great advice for Grace! Heather and I are best friends and yes we spend a lot of time together! She is happily paired up with George! LOL!
I’m happy that you are feeling better! Hope that you got your cards done! Enjoy the weekend! Hugs to you too! XO ๐
