What an absolutely lovely day I had in Manhattan at The Ink Pad with Barbara yesterday! The weather was gorgeous, sunny and warm. We had a steady flow of customers including a homeless man that came in to browse. He was a little unkempt but he browsed around and seemed to enjoy his little break in the store. After work I had a little issue, sometimes it’s not easy being me! I went to go and get the subway but I had no money on my MetroCard and when I went to add to it that didn’t work either! Oops! Thankfully it was a nice night for a 50 plus block walk! LOL! I can use the exercise, believe me! I met up with Kim at her apartment and we went to get a little dinner at Baker Street, they have delicious food there. After that it was back to the apartment for a little talk before calling it a night. I’ll be at The Ink Pad with Barbara again today! Fun!
My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge…
Love the simplicity of the sketch! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed my greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Black 110lb. It’s then cut out with some Simon Says Stamp Dies that the name escapes me of at the moment! I used the same dies to cut out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. Before adhering them both to the card with Foam Tape I added a few loops of DMC Metallic Gold Thread. The large star is punched out from more Black 110lb with the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents inch Pack. I added some Versa-Mark and then dipped it in Ultra Thick Embossing Powder three times. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Two of the star stamps from the Birthday Balloons Set are stamped in Onyx Black and then a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and some Basic Jewel Rhinestones are added for a little more sparkle and shine! I love the sentiment and the mix of the rhinestones and sequins is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Great card, Justin. I love the black and gold theme and all the elements. Have a great day!
Thank you so much HJ! I like the black and gold with all of the white! Hope that your day was fantastic! 🙂
Good Morning Justin!
This card is just plain fabulous! Gold, black and white – so formal, so debonair, so beautiful, so outstanding. The placement of the embellishments couldn’t be more perfect! I just love it.
50 blocks? That beats the night you walked poor Michael’s legs off. How long did it take you to walk that far? If I were doing it, it would take 3 days. LOL Thank goodness you are young and in great shape. So glad you had a busy day at The Ink Pad. I don’t see how a day at a stamp store could be anything but wonderful. Being surrounded by all those goodies is enough to make any stamper a bit giddy! I hope today is just as great as yesterday minus the Metro deal. We are headed up the coast to Moody’s Diner for the best dang banana cream pie in the world. Love and hugs to you my friend with the tired feet! XXOO 🙂
Hello Grace!
Thank you! I had fun making the card, I love the simplicity!
Yup, 50 + blocks, it was a nice night like I said so it was all good. It took me about 45 minutes, not bad! I am not that young and in pretty bad shape! LOL! But thank you! I do love being at The Ink Pad, so much fun! I had money on the card today and even left The Ink Pad at 7:03 and made the 7:11 train!! Your dinner sounds delicious! I hope that you had a great night! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂
oooh, love this card, very rich looking. Love the sequins as well, I have finally succumbed to them because of you! No need for that nice holder though (yet!)
Thank you so much Lynne! Yay! Sequins are awesome! You will love using them! You will be addicted before you know it! 🙂
Wow Justin, what a classy card! You hit the jackpot with this one, love it! Absolutely stunning! I so enjoy your postings each day and I, like many others love to hear about your day!
Hugs,
Jaime
Thank you very much Jamie! I’m so happy that you like the posts and enjoy the little peek at my life! I think that it makes for a better connection between us! Hugs to you! 🙂
I love this sentiment! And the card rocks!!! So elegant, stunnig and simple.
50 blocks, OMG I’m chuckling because I can see that happening to me although I’d probably only make it two miles then I’d need a break
Yes Linda, it’s a fun sentiment! Glad that you like the card! It was a fun one to make!
I wasn’t a happy camper at first and then I though, oh what the heck, enjoy the nice evening! 🙂
