Oh did I enjoy my day off yesterday! I got a few projects finished in the morning while FaceTiming with Andrea. My haircut appointment was at 2:00 and I had to stop at the Post Office to drop off a package on my way. Sometimes it feels so good to get a haircut! I even made my next appointment! From there I came back home and watched a few YouTube videos. Heather stopped by at 4:30 and got me so that we could run to Century21. She had to get a dress for a wedding that she has to go to on Friday night and I wanted to get shoes. I have been looking for comfortable ones, sneakers, but I just don’t like the way they look on me! I ended up getting a pair of Converse. Not super comfortable but I do love them! I have also been looking for ways to save money. One big expense for me each month is coffee! I have a Keurig and I go through about 6-8 K-Cups a day! That gets really expensive! I researched the Ninja Auto iQ Coffee Bar and it had some good reviews. It also uses regular ground coffee which is much cheaper than K-Cups so I got one from BJ’s for $129. I have to say that I made a travel mug size with some Starbucks Espresso Roast Coffee and it was quite delicious! I’ll keep trying different things with it and decide if it will help me out with the money savings in the long run! Hopefully it will! Today I’m going to try and run over to see Renee for a bit and then it’s Thirsty Thursday! Can’t wait to see the gang later on!
I got my new Simon Says Stamp Monthly Kit and decided to play with it to make my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…
My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White Card Stock. I cut three strips of paper, two from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad and one from a piece of Soft Sky. They are all adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The sun, cloud, speech bubble and greeting are all from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Days Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the sun and speech bubble on Daffodil Delight and the cloud on Vellum with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The greeting is stamped in Onyx Black and I cut them all out with my Scissors. On the cloud and the sun I colored in the cheeks with a Copic and then went over the eyes with a Sakura Black Gel Pen. The cloud is then adhered to the back of the sun and some Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape and regular Foam Tape adheres them and the speech bubble in place. It needed something else so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Summer Mix Sequins, that definitely helped! LOL! I love the simplicity of all of the images in the stamp set and the really neat little tiny greetings too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for taking a little time out of your busy day to stop by and see me! Have a simply wonderful Thursday! 🙂

What a happy looking card! I love the lively colors not to mention the sequins brightening up the faces. My husband combines Sam’s and Costco coffee and we use an old-fashioned Mr. Coffee type of coffee maker with no bells and whistles. We also use Crystal Springs water in the 5 gallon tanks delivered every month to the house. We get a perfect taste every day. I just have to remember to turn off the machine! More rain expected here. Yucky dismal wet days and nights, but Justin, you keep the light shining with your blog. Have a great day! Love to you and yours, Nancy B
Thank you Nancy! It’s a nice bright card and the stamps are simple and fun! I used Starbucks most of the time and always filtered water. Mine shuts itself off after two hours, thank god! LOL! We are to get your wet weather tonight and for the next few days! It’s always happy here my friend! Love to you!! XO 🙂
Really cute! I love those plaid papers!
Thanks Sandy! The papers are fun! Have a great day! 🙂
I love this happy card Justin. The hubs always tells me that I am his sunshine so, of course, I really got a big smile on when I saw the card. I mostly love the happy faces on the sweet cloud and sun. Kind of an “awe” moment when you look at them and I don’t think you could possibly not smile even if you tried. The colors in the papers you used are great and I wish I had fabric in those colors – what a fun quilt those would make. AND, of course, you have the perfect color sequins to match! LOL
Sun is shining but it’s on the cool side here. Another busy day for me but I hope to have some relax time tonight. I think I’ll make a cup of tea and pretend I’m at your Thirsty Thursday event. You have yourself a Terrific Thursday my friend. Love and Hugs, XXOO 🙂
Thank you Grace! Aww, I’ll bet that you are his sunshine!! The stamps in the set are really cute and the plaid paper is so cool! Loves me some sequins! LOL!
It was sunny here too but a little chilly. It’s supposed to rain today, later on. I’ll be in the store all day so I’m fine with that! Enjoy your day! XOXO 🙂
Justin,
Such a cute card! Love it!
Thanks so much Gerri! 🙂
Adorable! Love this card Justin–the vellum cloud is as cute as can be and I love the plaid papers. Reminds me of summer and madras bermuda shorts!! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!
Thank you Nance! Yes, the paper reminds me of shorts too! Have a super weekend! 🙂
Very cute card, Justin! I love everything about it!
Thank so much Cindy! Have a great day! 🙂
Love this!!! I passed on this kit because I have so much and can not get caught up! I also bought the paper pack from Lawn Fawn when it first came out. I’m an ice tea nut, and I dread thinking about how much money I spend a month on it. Just one large a day but I cant give it up. We all need a vice right?
Thanks Linda! It’s not the best kit that they have had but the stamp set was cute and I have the paper too but you can never have enough right?! We could definitely have worse vices so I think that we are good! LOL! 🙂
Justin, this is such a happy card! I love all the plaid and that little sunshine makes me smile! SO happy you joined my sketch challenge at The Paper Players this week! XX
