SIP Challenge 64 – CAS, Less is More!

How nice it was to have a long weekend! Having two days of that long weekend off was nice too! I did miss the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Renee but we’ll be back at it again today! I had a very crafty day yesterday! I love it when I get to make a bunch of cards ahead of time! I also love to have a nice crafty day at home! I was super productive and got four cards made! Woo hoo! Andrea and I FaceTimed just like the old days! Last night I went over to visit my friend Sue and see my pal Buddy! He missed me more than Sue did! LOL! We had a nice long chat and some good laughs, best way to end the day if you ask me! This morning I have to get my thinking cap on so I can plan this week’s Magic of Vellum Class at the store! We all know how much I love me some Vellum! πŸ˜€

The first Tuesday of the month, that means that we have a new Guest Designer over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Blog! This month it’s Jennifer Timko! To start the month off we have a Clean and Simple, Less is More Challenge…

SIP Challenge 64 - CAS

I did an almost one layer card with something that I love the look of but don’t do enough, masking! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the flowers from the Altenew Remember This Photopolymer Stamp Set onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. The large flower is then stamped onto a piece of Post-it Note and cut that out with my Scissors. After I stamped the base layer of the flower in Warm Sunshine I put the mask over it and stamped the outlines and leaves of the other two flowers in Warm Sunshine, Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades. The additional layers of all of the flowers are stamped in Mango Smoothie and Buttercream. My greeting is from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black. To add a little detail I used the largest of the Lawn Fan Small Dotted Rectangle Stackables Lawn Cuts to trim down my panel. It’s adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner and the card is finished! I really love the Altenew Florals and must remember how much I like masking, it really is an awesome technique! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Stop by the BLOGΒ and check out Jennifer’s and the rest of the crazy talented Design Team’s cards. After you had a dose of inspiration enter your take on the challenge in the gallery! Thank you very much fro coming by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! πŸ™‚

  1. Absolutely beautiful Jason. I love yellow roses. Question, when you put your mask on and stamp the next thing how do you get it close to the mask? I always seem to have a white space between. I was doing some masking this weekend and couldn’t get it close to the main object. Thanks for any suggestions. Hugs!!

    1. Thank you Carol! I find that using a thin paper like Post-its and the MISTI really helps! I think that the foam pad is the secret! Hope that helps! πŸ™‚

  2. Glad you had a creative weekend, Justin! I created two cards based on your Monday sketch. I always feel so productive when I am creative!

    1. Thank you Linda! I do love to have a nice crafty day at home! Did you share your two cards on Instagram so I can see?!?! Being creative is the best! πŸ™‚

  3. Less is more and this card is total beauty, Justin. I love all the yellows you used to create it. I’m glad you were able to get ahead on some of your creative projects. It always gets a week off to a good start. I had a very nice weekend as well and got some craft time in too. Have a great Monday.

    1. Thank you HJ! I really do love those Altenew Inks! Yes, I like when I’m ahead! I’m happy to hear that you had a good weekend and got in some crafty time! Enjoy your day! πŸ™‚

  4. Breathtaking is what came to mind when I saw today’s card. Truly a card worth a huge sigh to celebrate its beauty. I just can’t get enough of the multi layered florals that I’ve seen done with these stamps. And, your ability to choose the exact shades of a particular color, in this case the yellows, is amazing to me. AND, one word conveys the message “I’m thinking of you” and would be a wonderful reminder of how special someone is when is arrives in the mail along with those pesky bills. LOL

So glad you had a recharge weekend Justin. I would like to accomplish half of what you do in twice the time. You are just jet fuel fired! LOL Have yourself a Tremendous Tuesday my friend. Love & Hugs, XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you so much Grace! I do love the Altenew florals, they are so amazing! I like to stamp the outline in a lighter color so that there is no edge, makes it look even more realistic!
It’s really nice to have a day or two off! I still love to create in my little space! It’s funny because I always feel like I could get even more accomplished! I hope that you had a good Tuesday! Love and hugs! XOXO πŸ™‚

  5. Gorgeous! i always feel guilty when i do clean and simple,I see so many beautiful creations which have TONS!!!!! of embellishments. Just not my style, I really like CAS or just enough embellisments to make the card pop.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your two day break. Yesterday was my nothing day. It felt good….

    1. I feel the same way that you Linda! But it’s nice to do something nice and simple occasionally! Today’s card more than makes up for the lack of pop on this one! LOL!
I did have a nice weekend! Glad that you had a do nothing day! πŸ™‚
