Did you all survive Black Friday?! If you think about it Thanksgiving is a pretty brutal time of the year! We stuff ourselves on Thursday and then shop for 24 or more hours! I hope that all of you that did brave the stores are taking today to recuperate! It was a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday, I got to see lots of people and my friend Marianne brought me lunch and the  hung out with me for the rest of the day. My friend Sandy also stopped by! After work I had dinner with my Parents and then Taylor came by my house to make a card. Then she said that she wanted to go to Target and see what Black Friday deals they had left! It was actually not too busy and I got a few Blu-rays and some coffee! Today is Small Business Saturday so my specials continue today! Hope it’s busy at the store again! 😀
I did manage to get in a bit of crafty time at the Store and made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge…
My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and for my background I used a piece of Echo Park Summer Party Blazing Floral 12×12 Paper. My panel is a piece of Ballerina Pink and I used the Concord & 9th Layers of Love Die to cut out that fun heart with the floral border. Before I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner I used the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp and some Soft Pink Ink to give it a little more interest. I also cut a piece of Gold Mirror Card using the Layers of Love Die and adhered that piece in the upper right corner. The greeting is cut from more Gold Mirror Card and two piece of Solar White 110lb with the Concord & 9th Kind Card Frame Add-On Die. I cut off the ends and used Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhered them stacked. The greeting is then adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium along with a few Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins. I love the flowers peeking through the heart and of course that pink woodgrain is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for visiting today! Have a supreme Saturday! 🙂

OH, this is so pretty. I love the heart cutout and the word kind, rather than love. I also like the colors and the matching gold. This is so nice! Have a great Small Business Saturday!
🙂
Thanks Nancy! I like that it’s just kind too! I had tried three different colors for the background before I settled on the pink! I hope that you have a nice Saturday! 🙂
Beautiful
Thanks Mary! 🙂
This is a beautiful card, Justin. I love the diecut heart and corner gold diecut. The pink is so refreshing and springy and looks beautiful with that floral paper. I like the connotation of “kind” instead of “love” as Nancy said. I’m off to another craft fair to see what our local crafters are creating. I love to give handmade gifts when I can find them. Take care. I hope you have a busy Small Business Saturday.
Thank you HJ! I needed a little break from Christmas! I like the kind too, nice and big. I hope that you had a successful day at your craft fair! Small Business Saturday was fun! 🙂
Beautiful card with a beautiful message. Love the colorful flowers with the pink and gold.
Thank you so much Carol! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! 🙂
Oh Justin – Only you could make a woodgrain stamp look so feminine and beautiful! As masculine as yesterday’s card was, today’s is feminine. How you can flip back and forth so quickly is amazing. I have to get myself into a mindset in order to go from one to the other and often that takes a bit of time. I’m going to blame it on the fact that the CD in my head, often referred to as a brain, is full so it takes longer to search for what I’m trying to find. Too bad there is no delete button up there! LOL
I hope your have such a busy Shop Small Business Saturday that you are totally exhausted and a lot richer by this evening. I don’t know who came up with that shopping idea but I love it. Small shops are what make our community vibrant and it’s so wonderful to shop somewhere where the employees actually know your name. Much more fun than the big box stores. So – you have yourself a Sensational Saturday my friend. Love and Hugs, XXOO 🙂
Why thank you Grace! I think that woodgrain looks good n any color! I needed to play with that heart die, I have had it forever and the card sort of just snuck into my head. LOL! I’m sure that your “CD” is fine!
Small Business Saturday was really good! I think that it’s a great idea, and I think that it was Amex! People forget about the little stores and it’s nice to remind them from time to time! Hope you had a good day! Love and hugs to you too! XOXO 🙂
So pretty! After all the red and green lately, this is a breath of fresh air. I love the gold against the pink and the background paper is perfect.
Long live small businesses! Enjoy your weekend! Today is our turkey dinner just so I can live off leftovers!
Hugs, Nancy B
Thank you Nancy! I definitely needed a card that wasn’t Christmas! Yes, long live small business indeed! I hope that you had a nice turkey dinner and that your weekend is a good one! Hugs to you my friend! 🙂
Another vwinner! Love the heart die cut! Hubby and I just came back from brunch with my son, now hes heading back for last two weeks of Physical Theapy school before finals. It was awesome having all my kids home.
Today I need to takle cleaning my scrapbook room, it is a nightmare
Thanks Linda! The heart die cut is cool, I have had it for a long time, don’t know what took me so long to get around to using it! I know that you loved having your kids home! Hope you got a dent in your scrapbook room cleaning! 🙂
I’m not brave enough to go shopping on Black Friday! I like to do most of my shopping in my living room!! And what a fantastic card. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pink woodgrain before but I love it! The heart and the patterned paper behind it have such a lovely, vintage look. Thanks for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
I used to enjoy Black Friday shopping, not so much anymore! Glad that you like the card and I hope that you are enjoying your weekend! 🙂
That heart die is to die for! And the woodgrain adds the most perfect amount of dimension and detail to the card. Well done, you!
Thanks Ann! The front panel needed something, it was too plain, so I went to my old standby… woodgrain! 😀
My first thought when I saw your card was “pretty”. Your card with those colours and flowers is just gorgeous Justin! Thanks for joining us at FMS this week!
Thanks Narelle! Hope you have a fun week! 🙂
