It was another cold day here, but it wasn’t windy so it felt warmer than it has! I had some more people take the Ornament Class and Renee had her All Occasions Card Class too! My friend Erica came by to pick up the two cards that she had asked me to make her and she was really happy with them. Renee may take off today to go into Manhattan to see the tree! I hope that she does get to, otherwise I’m going to have to take and I don’t quite know how we would work that out! I was very happy to see that my little buddy Daniel was at my Parent’s house when I got there last night! He hid behind the door and scared me, it worked and he couldn’t have been happier! When I got to my house I called Heather and she told me to stop by George’s house for a bit. I went over there and then came back to my house to make my card for today. I always have lots to do at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store… but you already know that! LOL!
Many of you have asked that I share the Ornament that they are making in the Class so here it is…
And yes, it’s a shaker! LOL! π
So let’s see… Wednesday… ahh yes, it’s time for another Paper Craft Crew challenge…
I had stamped the image of the deer from the Hero Arts Color Layering Deer Photopolymer Stamp Set in Soft Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Cup O Joe and Black, cut him out with the Coordinating Dies and put him on my desk a few weeks ago. I though that it was time for him to go on a card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Kraft. To cut out the circle I used the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies. I also cut a circle out of Fun Foam and adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the background followed by the Fun Foam. Across the top is a piece of Carta Bella Dot – Vellum Foil 12×12 and under that is a piece of Natural Twine tied in a bow. I added some fun Deer Confetti that I found in the Target Dollar Spot along with Gold Chunky Glitter to the card base and adhered the background over the top. Next up I used 3M Foam Tape to adhere the deer and stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cup O Joe onto the background. Just three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins was all that was left to add and the card is done! I love the detail in that deer, he would work really well for a nice masculine birthday card too! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Hi Justin, I am so happy to see you in my mailbox this morning. Things are back to normal! I love this card and the shaker, with those little deer, is terrific. Love it.
Have a great Hump Day.
π
Hello Nancy! Yay! I’m so happy that it fixed itself! Glad that you like the card and I was so happy when I found the reindeer in Target! You have a fantastic Wednesday! π
Justin,
I cannot believe you stamped that deer!!! It looks so perfect, I thought for sure it was a computer generated. Amazing!!
And the deer confetti…. I LOVE THIS CARD!
Hi Gerri!
I love the Hero Arts Layering sets! The deer is a really great example of how detailed they are! The deer confetti was the icing on the cake! LOL! π
I love this card! It’s fantastic! I passed on those deer confetti in Target. I’m not the visionary that you are! Now, I’m sorry that I did!
Also, wondering…Is the deer stamped in the same colors as the one you stamped for me?
Have a fantastic day, my friend. Hope you get everything that you want to accomplished today. My list seems to be getting longer and the days fewer, and yet here I sit reading my favorite blogs.! Guess it’s time to kick it into gear!
Thank you so much Linda!! As soon as I saw the deer confetti I knew exactly what it was going to be used for! I think they still have some in Levittown, I’ll have to pick ups some more!
Yes, the deer is stamped in the same colors as the one that I gave you!
I hope that you too have a great day! My list never seems to get any shorter and I really do get things done!! LOL! You need the little bit of downtime! Hope that you you have a productive day! π
Hi Justin:
I love, love the ornament. I had seen the empty ornament containers at some store, can’t remember which, thought about purchasing them and passed it up. Now that I see how sweet your ornament is I want to kick myself in the butt for not getting them. Oh well, maybe next year.
I have deer stamps but not a 10 point buck which is the goal of every deer hunter I know. I have to agree with Gerri that the deer looks so fabulous that it looks like it was computer generated instead of stamped. Now I have to have that set! I hope you have it in stock and I’ll check it out on your store web page.
It’s a gorgeous day here today. The sun is shining and quickly melting the dusting of snow we got last night. If the weatherman is correct we are about to go into a pretty deep freeze for the next few days. I’m talking about below zero temperatures when the wind chill is figured in. That should be interesting. I’m glad our garage has a furnace so my car will be warm when I get in it instead of having to wait for it to warm up. BRRRRR. You have yourself a Whimsical Wednesday and be prepared to answer to the hubs for my spending more money on stamping stuff! LOL Don’t worry, he’s a softie.
Hello Grace!
The ornament is a fun project and I usually make a few for my friends for the Holidays! I picked up a bunch and will look again when they go on sale!
The Hero Arts Layering Sets are fantastic! I’m going to make a few Cardinal cards this week. Maybe I’ll mail out some Christmas cards too! Glad that I was able to get you the set!
It’s absolutely freezing here today and extremely windy! I wish my car was in a garage! The convertible doesn’t really like the Winter at all! LOL! I hope that you had a good Wednesday and a thoroughly awesome Thursday! Love and hugs! XOXO π
I have never seen the ornaments- where can I buy these
Hi Sharon! You can get the ornaments at AC Moore, they are made by Nicole. π
Oh….the ornaments are so cute! Love them. But ths card is beautiful, the Hero Arts layering sets make images look so real. And the deer confetti….PERFECT!!!! Only you would have found them.
It is flippin freezing here, single digits with wind chills -15 to -20. Way to soon for this type of weather.
Thank you Linda!! They are so much fun to make! I am a big fan of the Hero Arts Layering Sets, they stamp really cool images! As soon as I saw that Deer Confetti I knew exactly what I was going to do with it!
I’m right there in the deep freeze with you! It’s unbelievably windy here today. Let’s run off to an Island for the Winter! π
I have missed you and your blog for the past few days, Justin. I love this card with the beautifully stamped deer and the deer confetti!! I didn’t know you had your store up and ready for ordering!! I’m so happy for you. Now my hubby, like Grace’s, will not be nearly as thrilled as I am. You are definitely a terrific enabler. I can’t wait to find some time to go through everything. Take care and keep warm.
You have been missed too HJ! Glad that you are back! Love that deer too! Yup, I figured I would make it a little easier for everyone! LOL! It will definitely make the enabling easier and help me continue to do so! Hope you like the site and asa always if there is anything that you want and don’t see let me know! You keep warm too! Frigid here today! π
