Pencil Floral Joy

I actually woke up on time yesterday morning! I had some things to do like my laundry before I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. Once I was at the Store I had to fax something for my Parents and it took 10 tries to get it to go through! Who faxes things anymore?! I did have a nice day, Angie and Renee worked on cleaning up and I made my card for today. I left a little early so that I could come home and surprise Daniel! We played with some old Hess Toy Trucks and then watched a few YouTube videos together. I headed over to meet Heather at Geroge’s and had dinner with them. From there Heather and I had a few errands to run and then we met Stephanie back at Heather’s apartment for an early Thirsty Thursday installment! We had a great time like we always do! Today I really do need to work on my Newsletter and tonight I’m going to the movies with Taylor to see Rouge One! 😀

Once again I felt like coloring yesterday so I stamped the Hero Arts Holiday Florals Bold Prints Background Stamp in Hero Arts Black Ink onto a piece of Kraft Card Stock. It took a little over 30 minutes to color in the background with my Prismacolor Pencils and I enjoyed every minute of it! The background is adhered to a piece of Black and that’s adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My joy is from the Hero Arts Joy Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set and is cut from a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock and two pieces of Black. I adhered the gold and black pieces together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The card needed just a little more sparkle so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and it’s finished! I’m a big fan of that Holiday Florals Background and love the way it looks colored in! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for taking some time out of your busier than normal schedule to come by and see what I’m up to! Have a fun Thursday! 🙂

  1. OMG was the first thought. It is beautiful and Ido love it, but I have absolutely no patience or desire to color, especially like that. I think it great. Love the Joy too. Perfect. I’m so happy you enjoy coloring, as do many people I know.
    🙂

    1. Thanks so much Nancy! Yes, I know that you are not a fan of coloring but I find it really relaxing! Hope that you are having a greta week! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin:

I love that you added the gold glitter card stock with the word “Joy”. By adhering it to the black cardstock it gives it just the right amount of dimension. You always manage to line the words up so perfectly that there is no hint of the black cardstock at all on your card. It just amazes me how you do that! Glad you enjoy coloring. When I first started stamping in 2000 I colored the images in but as soon as I could get away from the coloring I did. Now coloring with the Prisamacolor pencils is all the rage and I actually bought my 78 year old sister coloring books and pencils for Christmas this year. I tease her about it but am so glad she enjoys doing it.

It’s snowing here but shouldn’t amount to much. You have yourself a most enjoyable Thursday my friend. Love and hugs to you! XXO 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
I like that it’s basically a simple card but the joy in the gold gives it a little oomph! So glad that you like the card! I have to say that I can’t imagine coloring in a book but I do love coloring stamped images! Good for your sister!
Better that you get the snow than me! LOL! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂

  3. Love the card, Justin. I’m into coloring and attend a coloring group once a week. We chat and color and enjoy an afternoon. Some beautiful pieces are coming from it. The next piece I choose to color will be one where I might use it on a card. Great idea. Thanks. Enjoy the movie with Taylor.

    1. Thank you HJ! Coloring is a lot of fun! I didn’t know that they had coloring groups! That sounds like fun! I definitely like coloring images that I’m going to use on a card! The movie was great! Hope you are having a good week! 🙂

    1. Thank you Linda! Yes, coloring is very relaxing! We can do the countdown together! I’ll take the days until Spring, seems closer! LOL! 🙂
