Oh how I do enjoy a day in Manhattan even when it’s overcast! I got the 8:11am into Penn and stopped at Starbucks before going to see my friends Jim and Diane. We have a very nice visit, they are such awesomeย people! After that I wandered over to Kim’s apartment, her friend is up visiting this weekend so we all took a nice long walk along the river. Even though it was overcast it was still pretty warm which was nice. On the way back we stopped at BurgeFi and had lunch. Delicious! Especially the huge onion rings! I took the 5:12pm back out to the Island and when I got home I watched some TV. Today it’s back to the Store for another fun filled Sunday! I did take a few pictures to share with you…
The 59th Street Bridge and
The inside of the new 2nd Avenue Subway at 72nd Street! ๐
Today I have yet another stamped background card to share with you! I stamped the images from the Hero Arts Let Love Grow Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Butter Bar, Lime Green, Fresh Peach and Intense Black Ink onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a strip of 48lb Vellum. I adhered the Vellum around the back of the stamped panel. On my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I added a strip of American Crafts Gold Glitter Tape down the left side and then adhered the stamped panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. It needed just a little something more so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to the flower centers and then called it done! I really do like (as you can tell) the stamped backgrounds. They make for a nice simple, quick card! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for sharing in my Sunday! Have an epic day! ๐

Ah Justin,
Thanks for the pics of the city. I do miss it even when its overcast.
Your card is so cheery. Very pretty.
Welcome Gerri! I miss going in and taking pictures and sharing them with you! Glad that you like the card! ๐
Great card, Justin. I love the pretty flowers, sequins, vellum with the gold embossing and the gold glimmer tape. Glad you got a trip into the City. Pictures are always a treat. Have a great day!
Thank you HJ! I do love my trips into Manhattan, especially when I get to share pictures! Hope that you had a great weekend! ๐
Hi Justin:
When I saw this card the word that immediately came to mind was delicious! I love ice cream and Pistachio is my second favorite. I also love Sherbet and my favorite there is the pink strawberry. Maybe because we are due for a blizzard to start this afternoon into tomorrow, or maybe because we don’t have any ice cream in the house right now (which, by the way, always make me want some) that may be the reason for the word delicious coming to mind. LOL
Now matter what the reason, I’m thrilled that you are on a making your own background binge. You are making backgrounds that are more beautiful then most of the DSP I see.
So glad you got to go into Manhattan for a day. Except for rainy days, I love being there. I don’t like Manhattan in the rain because with so many people with umbrellas it can get a little difficult to walk around without having to apologize for bumping into them umbrella to umbrella. ๐ You have yourself a sensational Sunday my friend and you can smile because I think this blizzard is going to miss the island but we are going to get it big time. More then 2 feet of snow should start arriving late afternoon. It will be gorgeous but we may be without electricity again. That part doesn’t make me happy. Love and hugs, XXOO ๐
Hello Grace!
I do really enjoy making the backgrounds! It’s so nice to just stamp! Now I want ice cream! LOL!
Even though it was overcast it was quite warm and very pleasant to walk around. I hope that you didn’t get all of that snow!! That’s insane! Love and hugs to you! XOXO ๐
Lovely flowers, Justin! The sequin centers add so much visual interest! You are really wishing for spring to get here, aren’t you? ๐ As I type this, snow is falling rather heavily and we have 4″ of snow with more to come… We got 14″ on Thursday so I’m completely over snow at this point already. LOL
Glad you had a great day in the City yesterday, despite the overcast skies. Those days make for the best photo opportunities! Even though I’ve been in the area of the 2nd Ave 72nd subway stop a few times for appts, I haven’t ventured down to check it out. I think it’s because I have to get to my appt on time and then I want to hustle to GCT immediately afterwards via the Lexington Line so I can get home. Enjoy the day in the shop!
Thank you Cristy! I do really want Spring to come!! We had 12 inches and Im done!
The new Subway is pretty neat and so nice and clean, for now! I can understand you wanting to get home and not waste any time doing that! ๐
Gorgeous, very Springy, LOl I’m thinking you are tired of winter.
Love the picture of the bridge, from the view it looks like the snow wasnt that bad. I wont tell you that we have Spring here today. Beautiful blue sky, sunny, about 50 and very windy. OMG, I know we will be punished for this weather.
Thanks Linda! Is it that obvious?!?! LOL!
The snow in the city always seems to disappear faster than out her on the island! I’m glad that you have nice weather! Make sure that you send it my way please! ๐
Beautiful spring colors!
Thanks Pat! ๐
