SIP Challenge 106 – Christmas in July!

Well, that was a nice long day in the city! I got in around 9:00 and headed up to the Apple Store to pick up an iMac for a friend of mine. Unfortunately it wasn’t ready, so after about four phone calls and lots of waiting I finally was able to get it at 4:00! Let me tell you, they are pretty heavy when you have to carry them for a few blocks! I made it back to the apartment seconds before the heavens opened! After I got the new one set up I had to pack up the old one and send it off to Maine. Again, heavy taking it to the UPS Store and $100 to ship it! Yikes! By the time I got home it was 8:15 so I came in and made my card for today and then I was done! LOL! This morning I’m going to pick up my friend Chantal and go and watch her granddaughter surf in over in Long Beach! Later on a BBQ at Steph’s! Happy Independence Day peeps! Fun times! šŸ˜€

It’s Tuesday so time for a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

Ahh, it has been ages since I have made a Christmas card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil and Lake Shores Ink with my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some color to the card. The fun frame is the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Frames Die cut from a piece of Merman. I added Acetate to the back and some 3M Foam Tape and filled it with Little Things by Lucy Brushed Gold Sequins. The snowflake is cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Simon Says Stamp Eliza Snowflake Die and is adhered to the frame with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. It’s been forever since I have made a shaker card and that frame die is perfect for them! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Christmas in July Challenge! We hope to see your cards in the Gallery so go over and check out the BLOG for some more inspiration! Thank you for visiting! Have a funtabulous 4th! šŸ™‚

  1. Oh Justin – you are surprising me by sending me an iMac? How sweet and thoughtful! LOL
Christmas in July seems to be the theme for a lot of sales at stores around here. It’s also a reminder that time goes by quickly (that is unless you are hanging around all day at the Apple store waiting to pick something up) so I better get started on my Christmas cards. Great card using that gold mirror stock and I just love that Merry Christmas die.
Enjoy the holiday today, I can’t wait to see the fireworks tonight. Love and hugs to you my friend. XXOO šŸ™‚

    1. LOL! Oh how I wish I could do that Grace!
I need to start on Christmas cards and then I may actually get them sent out this year! The Apple Store wasn’t as fun as it usually is! LOL! Love and hugs to you! XOXO šŸ™‚

  2. Beautiful card, Justin. Just the inspiration I need to get started on my Christmas cards. I love that it’s a shaker. Glad you had a great day in the city. It sound as though you’ve jam-packed today with fun. That’s what July 4th is about…enjoying our freedom to do what we enjoy! Hugs to you.

    1. Thank you HJ! I really do need to make my Christmas cards starting now! LOL! The city is always fun I hope that you had a nice holiday! Hugs to you! šŸ™‚

  3. LOl your day with Apple sounds like my aventure with HA and the Safari kit. I honestly think HA is a great company and I love their products but….. So as you know I never got my kit, but of course I paid. After multiple phone calls and no help except for, “we are sorry but the kit is sold out” I sent an email requesting my kit, they reponded back in 48 hours, GRR….. they sent me my original tracking number as proof that is was sent. OK I’m not always the smartest but I strongly beloieve in ciustomer sx so I checked the tracking number. Amazing, the package was never picked up, label made but never sent out. One more email to HA, amazing… this time I got a “Sorry, looks lke the post office misplaced your package. No worries, we have extra kits in case this happens. We are maiing out a kit today.” OMG!

Cute card, I’m not a fan of Christmas in July, I detest winter and I love summer, And our gorgeous weather is ever so brief.

I honeslty am amazed at how you caught up on your comments. You were so far behind, I would have just started fresh,

Happy 4th to you. Hubby and I went out to brunch, now its craft time.

    1. Usually I have a pleasant experience with Apple Linda! It was so frustrating! I’m sorry about your Hero debacle, even the best companies can be thwarted by the mail sometimes! Glad that you are getting the kit after all!
I don’t like making Christmas cards when it’s Summer either but it’s a tradition! LOL!
I am now catching up again! I don’t know what happens but the days just get away from me! I will always reply, you take the time and so do I! šŸ™‚

  4. For such a quick card, it looks great. Well done, Justin! My son says this is the best snowflake. He compares all snowflakes to Elsa’s snowflakes, so you did well in his eyes too šŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Jenny! LOL! Tell you son thanks so much! That means a lot coming from him! šŸ™‚
