Fab Friday 106

TGIF! It was freezing and super windy down by the Store again today. I can’t wait for Sunday! I spent the morning working on projects and then got ready for Card Class. It was a fun group and we had a good time laughing and creating! Today I have a class in the morning and then no class tonight! I have a lot of things around the house that I want to get accomplished so I think I will sneak out a little early! 😀

Good news! It’s a Fab Friday week and we have a fun color challenge for you…

When I saw the colors I saw flowers and couldn’t get that out of my head! I used the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set but did a little something different with it! To create the flowers I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut out pieces of Solar White 80lb and then used them as a stencil to add Soft Cantaloupe and Soft Apricot with my Mini Ink Blending Tool to another piece of Solar White 80lb. I then used my Heat Tool to make sure they were dry and stamped them with the images from the set in the same colors. They are then cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. I used a piece of Press n Seal to hold my arrangement in place and stamped the berries and greeting in Raspberry Jam and the leaves in Tide Pool onto another piece of Solar White 80lb. Next I created my card base out of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and covered the front in a piece of Tropical Sea. I adhered the stamped background panel to the card with E-Z Runner Ultra Strong and Fun Foam. All that was left to do was to adhere the flowers with 3D Foam Squares! Yes, that set is definitely in my top ten! I do like the sponged and stamped flowers, it’s a nice way to change up the set, almost makes it a layering set! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and take a look at the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks for visiting with me today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 331

Hello my friends! We had another pretty nice day and next week we are to get up into the 60’s again! Can’t wait for that! It was another fun day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, Renee and I got some of our many projects worked on and Isa came by to scrapbook and my Parent’s stopped by too! After work I had a quick dinner and then went over to Heather’s. She had made Arepas for dinner last night and saved me one! It was delicious. We saw George for a bit and then headed over to pick up Stephanie so we could run to the Walt Whitman Mall. Heather had to exchange her Michael Kors bag and Stephanie wanted a new one! I got Starbucks so I was happy! We also did an early Thirsty Thursday since I have Card Class tonight. Always a good time with my ladies! 😀

Some of my time at the Store was spent making my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I love those colors! I started off by heat embossing the images from the Altenew Lotus Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of Ballerina Pink and Slate. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and put aside while I worked on my base. To create it I used on of the Hero Arts Acetate Note Cards and added some Solar White 80lb to the front, inside front and back. So there would be somewhere to write the greeting I adhered a folded piece to the inside back. My flowers and leaves are then adhered to the card front with E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares. The greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Copper onto another piece of Ballerina Pink and cut out with my Scissors. Some more 3D Foam Squares adhere it to the card. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and the card is finished! It was actually a pretty simple card to make, I love the Acetate Note Card and the simple look of the heat embossed images! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you for stopping by! Have an excellent Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 231

Wow, Wednesday already?! I enjoyed my solo day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I had a few people stop in and I made my card for today. I also FaceTimed with my Aunt and my cousin Tracey in England, oh and Andrea too! Today I have to get ready for Card Class and work on some things with Renee! After work I had dinner and then came home and watched Valentine’s Day, an appropriate movie! LOL! I hope that you all enjoyed your day with your special someone! 😀

The card that I made yesterday is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge

I started off my card by using my Mini MISTI to stamp the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lemon Yellow and Orange Soda with the eye stamped in Black. To cut him out I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts. I then set about creating my background. To start I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Mint Julep to add just a little color to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Next I stamped the seaweed from the same set in Emerald Green. My strip of paper down the right side is a piece of Kraft that I heat embossed with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and I heat embossed it in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Hunter Green that I cut out with the banner die from the Hero Arts Little Messages Stamp & Cut Set. The strip is adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares along with the goldfish. To complete the card I stamped some of the bubbles in Mint Julep and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets. That Goldfish is still one of my favorites and who doesn’t love the Clear Droplets, they make excellent bubbles! I hope that you like my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and take a peek at the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your in the gallery! SIP Challenge 86 – Colors!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I have to admit that I’m a big romantic at heart! A lot of people think that Valentine’s Day is just a made up Holiday but I think that it’s the perfect day to show someone that you care a lot about how much they mean to you! Not that you should have to wait for Valentine’s Day to do that, you should make it point to do it as often as possible! If we all focused more on love and less on hate what a wonderful world this would be! And to that I had a lovely day at the Store yesterday. Renee and I do manage to have a good time in between all of the work and planning! When I got home I had a quick dinner with my Parents and then went out with Heather to Stop & Shop and then back to her house. My friend Louis stopped by to pick up some cards for his loved ones and I got to see George for a bit before I left. Renee is off today so I will be manning the Store. Stop by and show me some love if you are in the area! 😀

Today we have a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge for you, this time it’s colors…

I haven’t watercolored in a while and I wanted to so that’s what I did on today’s card. I started by heat embossing the rose and stem from the Altenew Sketchy Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper. To add my color I used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and #2 and #4 Silver Paint Brushes. I used my Heat Tool to dry the layers in between adding color and adhered the panel to a background of Black. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black. All that was left to do was to adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I do love that rose image and I’m so happy with the way the shading turned out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! We hope to see your card in the gallery after you stop by the BLOG for some more inspiration from the rest of the Team! Thanks so much for visiting! Have a romantic Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 484

Crop weekends are definitely my favorite weekends at the Store! Everyone is working on projects and laughing! I try to demonstrate something to make creating easier and more fun, sometimes it’s a big hit! LOL! And despite the gloomy, rainy day it was bright and sunny inside! After work I came home and a little Chinese with the Parent’s and then spent the rest of the evening watching the Grammy’s. With the exception of a few performances it was ok. Adele was amazing! Her version of Fastlove was incredible. And good for her starting over because something went wrong! She said she would and did! Today, another day of creativity at the Store, nice way to start the week! 😀

Since it’s Monday we get to be creative with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock covered with a piece of Chinese Red. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Patterned Paper and then stamped the airmail edge from the Altenew Happy Mail Photopolymer Stamp Set In Crimson and Sapphire Crisp Ink. I added a piece of 48lb Vellum that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Stackables Lawn Cuts to the rectangle and then adhered it to the card base with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner Ultra Strong. A strip of Deep Blue is adhered down the left side. My images and greeting are also from the Happy Mail Set. I stamped the stamps and postmark in Memento Tuxedo Black and used my Copics to color them in. The hearts in the center of the postmark are stamped in Crimson and then that is cut out with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies. I trimmed out the stamps with my Scissors and adhered them all to the card with 3D Foam Squares . For the greeting I stamped part in Sapphire and the love in Crimson and adhered it with more 3D Foam Squares. I do love the mail theme to the stamp set and the versatility too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the cards that the Design Team has created to inspire you! We hope to see your card in the gallery! Thank you so very much for starting your week off once again here with me! Have a stellar Monday! 🙂

Golden Beautiful Flowers

Oh how I do enjoy a day in Manhattan even when it’s overcast! I got the 8:11am into Penn and stopped at Starbucks before going to see my friends Jim and Diane. We have a very nice visit, they are such awesome people! After that I wandered over to Kim’s apartment, her friend is up visiting this weekend so we all took a nice long walk along the river. Even though it was overcast it was still pretty warm which was nice. On the way back we stopped at BurgeFi and had lunch. Delicious! Especially the huge onion rings! I took the 5:12pm back out to the Island and when I got home I watched some TV. Today it’s back to the Store for another fun filled Sunday! I did take a few pictures to share with you…

The 59th Street Bridge and

The inside of the new 2nd Avenue Subway at 72nd Street! 😀

Today I have yet another stamped background card to share with you! I stamped the images from the Hero Arts Let Love Grow Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Butter Bar, Lime Green, Fresh Peach and Intense Black Ink onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a strip of 48lb Vellum. I adhered the Vellum around the back of the stamped panel. On my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I added a strip of American Crafts Gold Glitter Tape down the left side and then adhered the stamped panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. It needed just a little something more so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to the flower centers and then called it done! I really do like (as you can tell) the stamped backgrounds. They make for a nice simple, quick card! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for sharing in my Sunday! Have an epic day! 🙂

Bloom ‘n Butterfly

Hello my peeps and happy Saturday to you! I’m off to Manhattan this morning to see my friends Jim and Diane and hopefully meet up with my friend Kim to have some lunch! It’s been way too long since I’ve seen her! Yesterday was a quiet day at the Store. I think everyone was still trying to recover from the snow! Renee, Angie and I worked on projects and Renee got her new Ranger goodies put away. After work I came home and straightened up some more, ran to Target and then my friend Jim came by and we went out and had Pizza for dinner. A fun end to a good day! 😀

I wanted to make a simple card for today, but then decided that I wanted to do a little masking, not that that doesn’t mean that it’s not simple! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the butterflies from the the Reverse Confetti Butterfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lawn Fawn Merman, Peacock, Fresh Lavender and Sugarplum Inks masking them as I went up the right side. When my stamping was finished I cut the right edge off with my Scissors. I decided that I wanted to add something to the inside for a change so I stamped the leaves from the Reverse Confetti Blooms ‘n Buds Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lawn Fawn Freshly Cut Grass and Noble Fir Ink. They needed something to ground them so I ran a piece of Plum Glitter Tape along the inside edge of the leaves. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze, Orchid and Amethyst Sequins and the card is done! I love the fun unexpected cut off edge and the surprise of the leaves and glitter tape inside! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for coming by! Have a superb Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 274

Some people like a snow day, I’m not one of those people! I feel trapped! LOL! I don’t have a problem staying in the house unless I feel that I don’t really have a choice, and a snow day is just that! I did have a productive day. I spent a lot of time organizing the house, cleaned out under the bed, threw out lots of stuff. I watched some TV and trudged next door for dinner. This morning I have a haircut and then off to the Store! 😀

Today I have a nice clean card to share with you for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

My card base is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added a piece of Photoplay This Guy 12×12 Paper to piece of Cyber Grape and added the flags to the left side with Purple Hearts. It was at this point that I decided that I wanted my greeting in the lower right of the panel, put that aside for now! My butterfly is from the Altenew Painted Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris using my Mini MISTI. I cut it out with the Coordinating Dies. The greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto the Woodgrain Paper. I then adhered the the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner and the butterfly with 3D Foam Squares. A few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Orchid and Sparkling Clear Sequins finish the card! I love that butterfly in the soft purples against the bold woodgrain, but then I always like a woodgrain! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for stopping by to see me! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Love!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post of the day! This time it’s for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge! February is pretty much the month of love right?! So let’s all make some love themed cards!

I started out making one card but didn’t waste to wast the leftover pieces so I made two! To begin I used the Concord & 9th Heartstrings Dies to cut out a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock and a piece of Tropical Sea. I then created my card bases out of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To stamp the heart I used the Concord & 9th Heart Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set, some Lawn Fawn Peacock Ink and my Mini MISTI so I would be able to stamp it multiple times to get a nice crisp impression. The arrow is added with Lawn Fawn Black Licorice along with the Love Greeting. I also stamped the little love heart in more Peacock on Solar White 80lb and heat embossed it in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto another piece of Tropical Teal. They are cut out with the little heart die from the Heartstrings Set. The gold outline heart is then adhered over the stamped one with 3D Foam Squares. For the second card I adhered the Teal die cut to a piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out with just the outline of the Heartstrings Die. I then pieced all of the Gold Glitter Card Stock back in and adhered the heart to another card base stamped with one of the other greetings from the Set. They needed just a little more bling so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze and Gold Sequins! I love that Heartstrings Die, especially in the Gold with the Teal! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Love Theme Challenge! We hope to see you card in the gallery so stop by the BLOG and get some more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team! Thanks for coming by again today! Enjoy the rest of your Thursday! 🙂

OSAT February Blog Hop – All You Need is Love!

It was sooooooo nice out yesterday! We made it up to 62 degrees! I had to go out to the bank and I had the pleasure of having the top down in the car! In February! What?!?! Well, never fear, today we are to get up to 12 inches of snow! Insane weather! I would of course prefer to do a repeat of yesterday! I made sure thatI was nice and productive at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, we are closed today. They have told everyone to make sure that if they don’t need to travel to stay home. I think that I will get some more organizing done today, it’s a good day to do it! 😀

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from the talented Jeanna Bohanon, welcome! This month we have a All You Need is Love theme! Ahh… who doesn’t like a little love?! I have a card and coordinating gift box for you today!

I used the same stamp set on both the card and the gift box. To create them I heat embossed the flowers and leaves from the Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set in WOW! Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder onto three pieces of Solar White 80lb, one so that I could cut out the large flowers. For the card I also stamped the greeting from the set in Hero Arts Wet Cement Ink. On the cut out flowers I added a little Prismacolor Colored Pencils to the petals. For the gift box I used the Lawn Fawn Pillow Box Lawn Cut to cut out the paper and adhered it together with Scor-Tape. I adhered the background for the card to a piece of Shale Card Stock and then to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The cut out flowers are adhered to the card and to the gift box with 3D Foam Squares. All that was left to do was to add a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and they are done! I love that Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder and the flowers and leaves from the Hello Lovely Set look great left as is, colored in or stamped with the addition layers!

I hope that you enjoyed my card and gift box  for the OSAT All You Need is Love Blog Hop! You can click on the next button below to see what the talented Dena Rekow has come up with!! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today. Have a thoroughly awesome Thursday! 🙂
