Freshly Made Sketches 274

Some people like a snow day, I’m not one of those people! I feel trapped! LOL! I don’t have a problem staying in the house unless I feel that I don’t really have a choice, and a snow day is just that! I did have a productive day. I spent a lot of time organizing the house, cleaned out under the bed, threw out lots of stuff. I watched some TV and trudged next door for dinner. This morning I have a haircut and then off to the Store! πŸ˜€

Today I have a nice clean card to share with you for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

My card base is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added a piece of Photoplay This Guy 12×12 Paper to piece of Cyber Grape and added the flags to the left side with Purple Hearts. It was at this point that I decided that I wanted my greeting in the lower right of the panel, put that aside for now! My butterfly is from the Altenew Painted Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris using my Mini MISTI. I cut it out with the Coordinating Dies. The greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto the Woodgrain Paper. I then adhered the the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner and the butterfly with 3D Foam Squares. A few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Orchid and Sparkling Clear Sequins finish the card! I love that butterfly in the soft purples against the bold woodgrain, but then I always like a woodgrain! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for stopping by to see me! Have a fantastic Friday! πŸ™‚

  1. Your card is very pretty today, Justin. I love the colors of the butterfly and the design. Glad you got a lot accomplished yesterday. It’s good feeling to have a productive day and clear things out. Everything feels much cleaner. It ended up being a non-event for us and that made me happy. Our son is coming from NYC today to do comedy shows nearby tonight and tomorrow night. We are looking forward to seeing him. I’m so glad the roads won’t be a problem. Have a great day!

    1. Thank you HJ! I did like that I was able to get some things accomplished around the house, lots more to do! So glad that you get to see your son! Hope you had a nice visit! πŸ™‚

  2. The Altenew colors you used today are just gorgeous. They will be really handy to have with Easter coming up. The amount of white space is perfect to emphasize the beauty of this butterfly. AND sometimes so much can be said in just a few simple words like the I Miss You in your card today. For some reason this card struck me as an emotional one. If I were to receive this in the mail from a friend or family member I would probably be in tears – the good kind of tears.

The hubs is out snowblowing the driveway yet again. He needs to get it cleared before the next two storms hit. One Saturday night into Sunday and I think the other is supposed to be Tuesday into Wednesday but I’m not sure. It’s a pretty active weather pattern right now. Also, there is a partial lunar eclipse tonight and I’m hoping the sky will be clear enough to see it. Wishing you a Fabulous Friday my friend. Love and hubs, XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Grace! I do love the Altenew Inks! I think that it’s a good greeting and would illicit the same reaction from me!
You must be buried under snow! Ugh! We had 12 inches and that was way too much. I’m good for the rest of the Winter now! Hope that you got to see your lunar eclipse! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Linda! I’m loving that cleaner cards lately! I can’t stand to be stuck in the house! The snow was pretty bad, 12 inches and there is still a lot left in piles. πŸ™‚

  5. Lovely card, Justin! The contrast between the softness of the butterfly and the hardness of the woodgrain paper play off each other so beautifully! And the sequins are just masterful, as always!

    1. Thanks Christy! I do love a woodgrain, especially with flowers and butterflies! Sequins, well you know I love them! πŸ™‚
