Hi there and happy Friday to you! Yes, it was another nice day yesterday and work wasn’t too bad either! After work I stopped home for a bit and started my card for today before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for the first night of my joint card class with Michael. He brought his dad so we went and had dinner, some pizza, before class. It was nice to get to meet his dad Joel, I now know where Michael gets his sense of humor from! Class was fun as usual and everyone enjoyed the projects! I’ll have mine posted tomorrow! Tonight we have the second night and then Michael has another baby book class there tomorrow. Sunday we will be at The Ink Pad and staying at Kim’s Saturday night! I really don’t want the Summer to end!

The card that I have for you today is for Freshly Made Sketches 199th challenge…

I can’t believe that they will be at challenge 200 next week! That’s pretty cool! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the bird from the Tim Holtz Bird Feather Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink on the card. My pocket is made using the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool and a Simon Says Stamp Stamp Pocket. I sealed a piece of Smoky Slate in the bottom and then cut out three feathers from Crumb Cake with the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Dies. They are spattered with some Heidi Swapp Citron, Teal and White Color Shine Spray. I added them and a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the pouch and sealed the top. A piece of Red Line Tape (Sticky Strip) behind the strip of Smoky Slate adheres it to the card. The greeting is a piece of Solar White cut out with the Simon Says Stamp You Craft Die and some Pear Pizzaz with the rest of the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp You Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The left side is flagged and then I mounted it to the card with Foam Tape. I do love using the Fuse to make a shaker card, the goodies that you put inside move around really nicely and you can do some creative pockets too! Freshly Made Sketches 198

And a very happy Saturday to you! I’m at The Ink Pad for the morning and then I’m going to wander around a bit. Later I’ll meet up with Michael for some dinner and then we are staying at my friend Kim’s again. Last night we took a really long walk along the Hudson, like 10 miles in total long! The sunset was beautiful and the weather was perfect. From Battery Park we walked to ChinaTown and had dinner at one of the best Chinese Restaurants, Wo Hop. If you are ever in Manhattan you have to go there, but not the one upstairs you need to go to the one downstairs! Here are some pictures from our wandering last night…

So today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

As soon as I saw this I knew exactly what I wanted to use! I kept the card extremely simple, not even any stamping! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower portion is a strip of So Saffron. The two panels are pieces of paper from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Paper Pad. I backed one with Lost Lagoon and the other with Tangelo Twist. The bottom one is adhered to the card with SNAIL the one with the fun saying is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Some Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix and Tangerine Sequins scattered across the card finish it off nicely! Sometimes a simple card can be bright and fun, don’t you think?! Freshly Made Sketches 197

Ahh, I do love a Thursday that doesn’t involve work! LOL! Yesterday was another hot one here, I snuck out of work a little early so I could head into Manhattan to meet up with Michael. It only took me a little over an hour to get in which was pretty good. I even found a parking space down the block from The Ink Pad again! I had to share the space because I still can’t believe that I got into it!

Now that is a tight fit! LOL! While I was hanging out at the store with Michael and Barbara we had a visitor! Jenny from Craft Test Dummies stopped in! She is awesome! I watch her YouTube channel because she gives unbiased reviews of products. You can check out her blog HERE and her You Tube channel HERE! She also has a new series called Hands on Crafts for Kids that is really neat!

I love to meet people that I see on the internet and they are more awesome that you thought they would be!

Now lets move on to today’s card. It’s for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. First I want to thank Jen B. for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s sketch! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE. Now on to this week’s sketch from Jen B….

I wanted super simple and I just can’t get enough of that Lawn Fawn set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Best Fishes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black in the lower right corner. The banner is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. I inked up the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Hero Arts Butter to Orange Ombre Ink and flagged the bottom before adhering it to the card with SNAIL. My fish and fish bowl are from the same Best Fishes Set and are also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Copics to color them in and then die cut them with the matching Lawn Fawn Best Fishes Lawn Cuts. The fish are adhered to the bowl with Multi-Purpose Glue and the bowl to the card with Foam Tape. I love coloring with my Copics but I definitely need a few more colors and I love the Ombre flag! Freshly Made Sketches 196 & Sten-doodle!

It was another great day weather wise here on Long Island! Yesterday I snuck out of work at 3:00 and headed over to Scrap-A-Latte. I brought my supplies with me to make my card for today so I worked on it there while Michael finished preparing for his classes. Last night was his Sten-doodle class and that was a lot of fun! I challenged myself to be as random as possible. Not an easy feat for me who likes things that are very uniform and organized but in the end I really love how my elephant turned out! It was a fun class but quite because everyone was concentrating on tracing and coloring! Heather and Taylor dropped Maggie off around 9:00. It’s so good to have her here! She met everyone and after class Michael, Maggie and I went out to grab a bite to eat. By the time we got home and finished chatting it was 2:00am! Another fantastic day! The card that I made at the store is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I flipped the sketch for my card that I put together in my head and ran home at lunch to get the supplies to make! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad across the bottom. My panel is a piece of Smoky Slate that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Die. I also cut out a piece of Soft Sky and then used the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders to cut them again and adhered the on top of one another with some Foam Tape behind the top one. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. The boat is from the same set and is colored in with Copic Markers and adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. For the sun and the clouds I used the Lawn Fawn Spring Showers Dies and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. The panel is mounted to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Finally, a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars are adhered with Ranger Multi-Purpose Glue. Are you sick of the nautical theme yet?! Clearly I’m not! LOL! I love that little sailboat! Freshly Made Sketches 195

It was another dreary day here on Long Island yesterday and it finally poured for about 15 minutes around 5:15 yesterday and then it was done. Michael met me at my house at 3:45 and we headed over to Scrap-A-Latte. I had to cut for class and he wanted to finish working on his baby book. We also got to see Renee’s kids Nicholas and Krista. They left a little early to go to dinner so we locked up. On the way home we stopped and got Hurricane’s Wings for dinner and came back to my house and watched some YouTube videos. Another nice day! So far it’s been a pretty good week and It’s almost Friday! Woo hoo!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I have been wanting to use a new butterfly die that I acquired and this seemed like a good place for it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Die to cut out some Vellum and adhered it to the card with 2-Way Glue. The Simon Says Stamp Leanna Butterfly is cut from Blushing Bride and Mint Macaroon, the two pink ones are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue and the mint one with a tiny piece of Foam Tape. I put a Basic Jewel Pearl in the middle of each one. The greeting is cut from Basic Black with the Simon Says Stamp You’re Amazing Die and adhered to the card with some more 2-Way Glue. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are scattered around and complete the card and give it a little sparkle. I love the delicate look of the butterflies against the soft vellum leaves! Freshly Made Sketches 194

Hello peeps! What a great day we had in Manhattan yesterday! Michael and I met up with Kim and Angie at her old apartment around 9:15 and then headed over to the diner for some breakfast. After that we hopped into a cab and went down to the new apartment. Kim said that the movers finished the entire move in three hours on Friday, that’s pretty fast! Michael and I put the bookcase back together, we did have to run out to Home Depot to get a bit, but it was done in no time! We stopped at Baker Street for a yummy lunch and after that we headed over to Bed, Bath & Beyond to pick up some necessities. I got a text from my friend Isabella to stop by for tea so Michael and I went over to her apartment. We had a nice chat, Michael and Isabella talked about the art in Brasil and Argentina. From there we went back to meet Kim and Angie to go back uptown to get my car and headed over to see Bev and Jason on the West Side. After a nice visit with them Michael and I headed back out to the Island. What a great way to spend a Saturday!

Today I have a quick card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I wanted to do a little inking with some of the new Tim Holtz Distress colors so I created a simple birthday card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a Tim Holtz Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon on two pieces of Neenah Solar White 80lb. They are then cut out with the Lawn Fawn Party Balloons Lawn Cuts. I also used the dies to cut some Black Card Stock for the balloon strings. My sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Borders Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The balloons are adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape, the strings with 2-Way Glue. A fun simple birthday card, I love the way the blended ink gives the balloons some cool texture! Yay it’s Friday! Boo, I have to work! Hopefully it will be a quick day! Yesterday was overcast but nice, lots of thing accomplished at work. Robin and I had Panera for lunch, I got my favorite the Chicken Cobb with Avocado Salad, YUM! After work I came home and made a few cards and then went out to the Saab to see if I could fix the iPod cable. Of course, I didn’t check to see which replacement I needed and I guessed wrong! Oh well, we’ll have to try that again! Nothing like taking apart the entire dashboard all for nothing! Happy thoughts! LOL!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I went super clean! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My panel is a piece of Basic Black with two pieces of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Calypso Coral and cut it out with the Deco Labels Collections Framelits. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape and two Basic Jewels Rhinestones are adhered to the centers of the flowers for some sparkle! Nice and simple but I really love it, that DSP is definitely one of my favorites, love the colors! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Freshly Made Sketches 192

Hello there and how are you today? I’m ok, I did find out today that I won’t be picking up my car until Friday. Why is it that people can never stick to a time?! Oh well, what can you do?! Today was another gorgeous day! Sunny and a little less humid, perfect top down weather! Work, let’s skip that! LOL! As soon as I got in the car I put the top down and was immediately in my happy place! I came home and Skyped with Andrea while I made my card for today. Later on I went and met Michael, Sue and her husband for dinner at Texas Road House. I had a delicious Caesar salad and got to give Sue her birthday card. She loved it, but then again she told me that she was going to steal it when she stopped by my house last week! LOL! Dinner with friends is always a nice way to end the day!

I wanted to use a star but that was too obvious! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Woven Embossing folder to emboss the basket texture on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. Some Fun Foam, SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue adhered it to the card. My circle is a piece of Daffodil Delight that I cut out with the Circles Framelits. The outer circle is cut from some Cucumber Crush using the Simon Says Stamp Dots Circles Die. My smile is cut from Watermelon Wonder with the Simon Says Stamp Smile Circle and they are both adhered to the card with 2-Way Glue. A few Pretty Pink Posh Watermelon and Shamrock Sequins are adhered around the circle and then the circle is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another card with some bright colors but my favorite part is that Embossing Folder, such amazing texture! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Mojo Monday 403

Yes, there goes another rapidly dwindling weekend. Although I have to say mine was very good. Yesterday was pretty relaxing. I had waffles with Taylor in the morning for breakfast and then went over to my parents’ because Daniel was there. He was in his “What’s that?” phase yesterday, that’s where he just sits and points at things asking, “What’s that?” over and over again. It’s usually the same thing, but he’s cute so it doesn’t matter. I came home and then Daniel came over to visit me, because he likes to do that now. LOL! We played a little bit more “What’s that?” in my house before he looked at me, said bye, grabbed my mother’s hand and left. The rest of the day I just relaxed, it’s nice to have a day like that every once in a while. I hope that you all had a good weekend too.

The good thing about Monday’s is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge! This week’s sketch is provided by the very talented Julee Tilman…

I haven’t done a mostly white card in a really long time, so I thought I’d give that a go today. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I wanted my flagged piece and my greeting to match, so I coated the end of the flagged piece in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. Next up is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb that is adhered to the card with some Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Stamp Set and is heat embossed in the same Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on Vellum. I die cut my wreath using the Simon Says Stamp Danville Wreath and adhered it to the card with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. To finish off the card, I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins on the wreath with Crystal Effects. I really like all of the white with the splashes of platinum and I love the way the greeting and the wreath match. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. Freshly Made Sketches 191

What a nice day I had yesterday! I woke up at 4:00am and left the house by 5:00 to go and pick up Michael. His flight landed early and he was out by 6:45. We stopped at the diner fro breakfast and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee. He had brought some chip board and MDF from Brasil for her to sell in the store so while he set that up I did my cutting for class tonight. We were at the store for most of the day. After the store we stopped by my house to get his luggage and visited with Taylor for a bit. Then we headed over to the pizza place to meet Sue and her husband for dinner. What a nice way to spend a day off from work!

A super simple sketch that leaves a lot open for interpretation. I wanted something simple and elegant, you’ll have to let me know if I was successful! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I embossed the Definitely Dahlia Background Stamp on a piece of Basic Black with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My greeting is from the Happy Birthday Everyone Host Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I wrapped it around the back and then adhered it to piece of “Vintage” Brushed Silver. That is then adhered to the card base with SNAIL and Fun Foam. Three Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins complete the card. I love the font in the sentient and that Dahlia stamp is great!
