Butterfly Postage Wishes & BA

Home / 2015-2016 Annual Catalog / Butterfly Postage Wishes & BA

Good day everyone! I’m back in NY, missing my cousins already. We went our for a breakfast yesterday before heading to Heathrow. It started to pour once we got to the airport. Tracey and Jules waited with us for Β a long while, we even sat and had a Costa Coffee before we said our goodbyes. The flight home on British Airways was really nice! We sat in Club World with the nice big seats that turn into a flat bed! Lunch was delicious and so was the snack before landing. My friend Betty met us at the plane and walked with us through to baggage claim and we were out in 15 minutes! Heather and Stephanie picked us up and Heather and I had our movie moment! LOL! I unpacked last night and went to be early so that I can try and reset my clock. Today I have some cleaning to do and then finally sit down and make a card, the first time in over two weeks! That has been the longest for me in over 4 years! Wish me luck! Here are some pictures from the plane yesterday…

BA Club World Seats

Our nice big comfy seats, and yes, you sit facing the back of the plane!

A view from the seat just as we were flying out into the Atlantic.

Now on to today’s card which I actually made before I left. The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the “Vintage” Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate on a piece of Solar White 80lb. Down the left side is one of the stamps from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Real Red and up in the right corner is a stamp from the “Vintage” Office Ephemera Stamp Set stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Two of the stamps from the same set are stamped in Pacific Point and cut out with my Paper Snips. The butterfly is also from the Butterfly Basics Set and is stamped in Pacific Point, Real Red and Memento Tuxedo Black and then cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits. I adhered the background to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL, the stamps are adhered with SNAIL and the butterfly and greeting are adhered with Foam Tape. For the greeting I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Papertrey Ink Just the Ticket Border Die and stamped it from the Butterfly Basics Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. I resisted the urge to add some sequins, LOL! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thanks for sticking with me through these last two weeks and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! πŸ™‚

  1. Great card. I love the use of newsprint and “postage”. And wow on the airplane. Now I could handle a trans-atlantic flight with that kind of seat.

  2. Glad you’re home. British Air really knows how to make their passengers comfy. I like your card with the beautiful butterfly and all the other elements, which make it special. It’s great you enjoyed your vacation and had some time away to get your creative juices flowing for us.

    1. Thanks HJ! British Airways is a lovely airline to fly! Glad that you enjoyed the card too! The vacation was the best! It was tough to not make a card for two weeks! Gotta get back into the groove! πŸ™‚

  3. Justin, thanks for taking us along on your trip. It was fun seeing the sites through your pictures and stories. Welcome back home.
    BTW, love your card.

  4. Welcome home! Glad you made it safely…thanks for making us your traveling companions. As usual, all your photos were enjoyable and educational. I love your card today, but I especially like your washi tape roll in your tableau. Fun! Adjust your internal clock, finish cleaning up, and get back to making your gorgeous cards for us (how selfish is that?) Love you, Nancy B

    1. Thank you so much Nancy! I’m so glad that you came along! LOL! You always notice the little things like the Washi! Glad that you enjoyed the card! I think that my clock is reset and I am happy to be getting beck to making cards for all of you! Not selfish at all! LOL! Love you too! XOXO πŸ™‚

  5. Welcome back Justin!! Wow those seats on the plane are amazing! I never saw anything like that. Of course I haven’t flown in many years. Prefer the ground or the sea.
Beautiful card! Love the colors and the background. That butterfly is so cool in those colors.
