Freshly Made Sketches 213

Yes, I’m very late this morning, I woke up with a doozy of a headache, hate when that happens! It’s finally started to subside. Yesterday I was at Scrap-A-Latte for most of the day. The morning and night classes were fun as always and everyone really enjoyed the projects. I’ll have them tomorrow morning for you to take a look! I stopped at Target on the way home to pick up the all important 1/2 & 1/2! Today I’m going to try and get some things accomplished before heading back over to Scrap-A-Latte for tonight’s class. I have a lot of things that I’m working on and I need to got a move on! Tomorrow I’ll be at The Ink Pad, always love my time there! What are you up to this weekend?!

Last night after I got home I sat down and made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 213

I went with a very clean and simple shaker card! Yes, I do love a shaker, don’t I?! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Black 110lb. Across the lower part of the card isΒ a piece of Recollections Shimmer Card Stock. My frame is cut from some My Colors Pale Aqua using the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Frame Die. I adhered a piece of Real Red Across the bottom that I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders Dies on to give it that “ribbon” look. The rest of the greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Celebration Photopolymer Stamp Set that I got for free with an order that I place in September and it’s stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the frame using Score Tape and built up the sides with Foam Tape to hold some Hazel and Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins along with some Red Seed beads. All that was left to do is peel of the Foam Tape backing and adhere it to the card! I really like the aqua with the red on the black and yes, I am totally addicted to shaker cards! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks so much for visiting today and I wish you all a fantastic Friday! πŸ™‚

  1. HI Justin:

I always love a shaker card so you have me mesmerized again today! LOL Sorry that you have a headache, I know all too well what that is like first thing in the morning. So, take some meds with a good cup of coffee, lie down with a cold washcloth on your forehead and make it go away. I have found that it helps a lot to have a good humidifier going near your bed. It gets pretty dry inside once the cooler weather starts. I hope your pain is gone before tonight’s class or it won’t be any fun at all. Love and hugs, XO πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you!! I do love a shaker! LOL! I think that I had the Headache because it’s 84 degrees in my house!! I think I will look into a humidifier!! It did go away after some Coffee, Almonds and Aspirin! Class was great! Hope you had a nice day too! Love ya!! XOXO πŸ™‚

  2. Love it! Simple yet sends a message, plus its a shaker! Well…. I was planning on going to Michigan to watch my daughter iceskate, but Mother Nature stopped taking her meds. Depending on what station you listen to I can get up to 7-10 inches of snow. I’m honestly in denial or shocked. Other folks just say ice/rain/snow mix. OMG its too flippin early. Good news is my two sons are almost home from college so they missed most pf the storm, and my daughter is safely in Michigan already. So what else to do except CRAFT!!!!!

    1. Thanks Linda! Yup, I do love me a shaker! LOL! Sorry that mother nature foiled your plans! That’s too bad. I’m glad that your boys have avoided the weather! It is way too early for this crap! But feel free to keep it by you!! No sharing! LOL! Hope that you enjoyed your crafting! XO πŸ™‚

  6. Great card, Justin! I *really* enjoy shaker cards. This one brought Mondrian to my mind. Love the color combo and the placement of the card elements. Artistic *and* fun!
