So, it was absolutely gorgeous here yesterday. I may go as far as to say that it was perfect! Temps in the mid 70’s and lots of sun! It did make staying in the office a little more difficult but I took my lunch break and sat outside and FaceTimed with Mr. Trent for a bit. Marissa brought in some chocolate chip mini muffins that had a hint of coconut extract in them, delicious! Michael made a good point, they are mini muffins but then you just eat more of them! It’s true because I had three! The ride home in the car was topless and glorious! I had some dinner and then came home and tried to be crafty but I kept having to go outside. I did finally get my card made for today and I’m really excited to share my Mother’s Day present with you which I will do on Saturday! I love the way that it turned out!
The card that I made in between trips outside is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…
Ok, so I really am a little obsessed with wedding cards lately, but I think that it’s because I love the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper. I have always loved Sahara Sand so the paper is perfect! The card base is the usual! I stamped the Something Lacy Background Stamp in Sahara Sand on Whisper White and then cut a piece of Sahara Sand with the bottom right angled to match the sketch and adhered on top of the white. The panel is then mounted to the base with Fun Foam adhered in between. My panel in the middle is a piece of paper from Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper and it’s backed with a piece of Whisper White. The greeting and the wreath are from the aforementioned Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set, the wreath is heat embossed on Vellum with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder and the sentiment in the same on Whisper White and then punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. I used some Foam Tape in between each one to adhere them to the card. The flags at the top are the same Something Lacy Background heat embossed with some more Liquid Platinum on Vellum and adhered with Vellum Adhesive. Finally, for a little sparkle I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins. I love the Platinum Embossing with the Sahara Sand, it gives the card a fun monochromatic look! I really hope that you enjoyed today’s card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! As always, I appreciate your visit and I wish a very happy Tuesday! 🙂

Hey Justin, what a gorgeous card this is! A perfect wedding card. I have never actually used Sahara Sand card, I may have to invest. I use crumb cake so much, I have just run out – I think I will struggle to make another card without it, lol! I’m glad you are finally having some top-down weather! We are cooling down here, electric blankets are on again! Hope your day is awesome! Cheers Justin xoxo 🙂
Hi Kelly!
Thank you very much! I have been really into wedding cards lately! LOL! I love Sahara Sand, you definitely need to get some! I like it better than Crumb Cake! The top down weather has taken way too long to get here! My day was great, hope that yours was too! XOXO 🙂
Good Morning Justin! What a gorgeous card!!!! So pretty, love the layout, the vellum, the sequins—everything!! We had that nice weather a day or two ago also–nice isn’t it? Seems like it was a long winter. And the best part is that the bugs and mosquito’s aren’t out yet! I could live in a place where the temps stay in the mid 70’s all year long. So, did you get your pre-order in?? I am loving that new Triple Banner Punch (and just about everything else too!) The puppy goes to her first vet check today, that should be a fun time! 😉 She’s definitely keeping us on our toes but she’s just the cutest little thing. 5 lbs of fur and sharp teeth! Have a great day!
Hi Karen!
Thank you! I really love the card and am glad that you did! I am loving the warmer weather! Yes, it’s also nice to be bug free! I actually don’t mind the mid 70’s! I did get my pre-order in! The triple banner punch was the first thing on my list! I hope that the vet trip went well! I’m glad that you are enjoying her! 🙂
Gee Justin – If I knew you were going to make such gorgeous wedding cards I would have waited to get married (yeah right)! LOL Any who – this is a fabulous card and I do love that Something Lacy stamp. So you got to pre order from the new catty eh? Just one more benefit of being a demo. I am anxious to see the new catalog but my checkbook isn’t anxious for me to see it! I’m excited to see what the new In colors are going to be like. I love all of the 2015-2016 colors and I hope when all is said and done they put all of them into the regular line up once their time is over. Blackberry Bliss is my absolute favorite and I’m not even a “purple” lover.
So glad you had the same wonderful weather we had yesterday. It was wonderful to get to open all the windows and have that light breeze blow through the house after such a long, long, long winter (or as they say here in Maine – Wintah). The weather is forecast to be just gorgeous all week right up to the weekend. Spent a lot of time out on the porch yesterday just soaking in the wonder of spring. It’s hard to stay focused on what I should be doing when it’s that magnificent outside.
Have yourself a Totally Awesome Tuesday. Love and hugs! XO 🙂
Oops – I meant 2014-2016 colors.
LOL! I knew just what you meant! 🙂
LOLOL! Ha! Your too funny Grace! I’m happy that you like the card! The Something Lacy stamp is great and I love how well it goes with the DSP! I did get my pre-order in! I’ll be able to share some samples with you next week, hopefully! I hope that they bring back pistachio and cantaloupe at least! I’m with you on Blackberry Bliss, love it!
I’m glad you are experiencing the same weather! I am enjoying it thoroughly! It’s really hard to stay in the office during the day! It’s supposed to be nice at the weekend too here! I am enjoying it all!
I hope that you had a great day! XOXOXOXOXOXOXO 🙂
Beautiful beautiful wedding card! Very chic!
Thank you very Much Michael!! 🙂
Stunning card Justin! I love the silver embossing on the vellum and the silver and sahara sand color combination make it so elegant.
Thank you so much Dana! 🙂
Love this card! Great Job.
Thanks Nelda! 🙂
I love the wedding cards you are making Justin, very classy like yourself! LOL! The weather sounds beautiful with you at the moment, better than here that’s for sure! Although it has brightened up this evening and managed to get balcony door open for a while which my Snowy and Jemima were pleased about till a pigeon tried to fly onto it! The Something Borrowed is my other favourite DSP. Looking forward to seeing your Mums present on Saturday. Enjoy the weather, Michelle xo
Thank you Michelle! I’m a little obsessed with wedding cards lately and I can’t figure out exactly why?!?! The weather here is gorgeous! It;s annoying when you have some uninvited guests isn’t it?! Love the DSP and I can’t wait to show off mum’s pretty! XOXO 🙂
Beautiful! I love this combo of Sahara Sand and this new dsp. I just did a Mother’s Day card at last month’s stamp camp and it was such a hit, several people ordered the paper and card stock. That’s a first. 🙂 I really need to incorporate vellum more, it’s so classy and your cutting out of the stamp is perfect! Beautiful job! Hope to see you at convention this July!
Thank you Bobbi! I think that the DSP and the Sahara Sand is just awesome! You know that I love some Vellum! 🙂
WOW! Just beautiful, I especialy like the embossed velum, looks like real lace. We had rain today, but I’ll take it, Its warm, tress and flowers are blooming, finally winter is gone!
Thank you Linda! Love the heat embossing on the vellum! I’m so happy that Winter has finally gone! Rain is so much better than snow!! 🙂
