Paper Craft Crew 143

HELLO! Yup, it’s Wednesday already, the week is moving along at a nice pace! Work was pretty quiet again yesterday, not complaining! It was warm again here too justย not as much sun as yesterday. When I got home last night I didn’t know what I wanted to do! I have so many crafty things that try to get out of my head but I just don’t have enough time! LOL! So last night I thought I would see if I could make a tag. After taking the Tags class at Scrap-A-Latte I thought that it was a fun decorative item to make. I’m plotting some kind of display for them as I’m also planning to make more! So that is just what I did last night. I played with some Tim Holtz stuff! I’ll list the products that I used at the very end of the post, in the mean time here is the tag…

I had a lot of fun putting it together and love the colors! Hope that you like it too!

As is the case on Wednesday’s I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS143 DT Sketch 5-06-2015

I have had a bunch of Simon Says Stamp stuff that I have been wanting to play with so that’s what I used for today’s card. My card base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb which makes for an awesome card base! I stamped a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb with the border stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Sending Happy Thoughts Photopolymer Stamp Set in Real Red Ink. The envelopes and hello are also from that set and are stamped in Tempting Turquoise. I used the 3/4″ Circle Punch for the hello and my Paper Snips for the envelopes. Across the bottom of the white panel is a piece of Real Red and across the top of that is some PinkFresh Studios Red and Blue Ombre Airmail Washi Tape. I adhered the panel to some Fun Foam and then to the card base. Some Neenah Solar White 80lb is stamped with the dots from the Simon Says Stamp Nautical Borders Photopolymer Stamp Set in Tempting Turquoise and backed with Real Red. It is also adhered to the card with some Fun Foam in the middle. I used the 1″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock and slid it behind the panel. The hello and envelopes are them mounted to the card with some Foam Tape. I love that Airmail Washi Tape and the nice bright colors on the card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. You can head on over to the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch! I also hope that you enjoyed my tag! Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy Wednesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. LOVE your tag AND your card!! The mail on the card is so adorable!!!!

  2. Wow Justin!
What a beautiful intricate tag!! And I love what you did with the sketch.

    1. Thank you Gerri! I had so much fun with the tag! I’m glad that you like the card too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Your tag is gorgeous! There is nothing on it that I can’t do with SU stuff. The colors are great! I will have to give it a try soon. Yes, Camel, (it’s hump day), I hope your week flies by to the weekend that I know you live for. Just be careful that time doesn’t fly too fast. The older I get, the faster the days, weeks, months, and years go by! Whatever happened to 1994? Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! Yes, I’m sure that you could do a fun one with the Stampin’ Up! stuff! I would love to see yours! I hope that the rest of the week moves along too! I do love my weekends! Time is always moving too fast! Where has this year gone?! I am happy that it moves along with you though! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Good Morning Justin!

I laughed at Nancy’s comment as I always say the older I get the faster the days go! I’m not sure how we got to May already this year in spite of the long winter! LOL

There is a butterfly “farm” in Massachusetts that my girls took me to one Mother’s Day. When I saw your tag that is what first came to my mind. If you sat on a bench while there the butterflies actually would come and land on your arm or leg or even your foot and there were so many different sizes and colors on those butterflies it was just amazing.

I love the little different sized envelopes on your card and I thought it was a fabulous idea to put one behind the panel and then on in front of the panel. That little detail really brought some eye catching detail to the card. I would never have thought of that but it made such a difference. I’ll have to remember that one.

Perfect spring weather again today. Unfortunately with all this fabulous weather the state has been under high fire warnings all week so far. Hopefully everyone around here will use a bit of common sense and be very careful with their grilles. It would only take a small spark to turn into acres of fire with all the dried grass and timber in the woods. Today I finally get to go to the hairdresser and get this mop of hair cut nice and short for the summer season. I’m leaving on the 15th for vacation and returning around the 28th. The hubs will hold down the fort while I’m gone. I’ll play catch up with your blog when I return. Meanwhile you have yourself a Wicked Good Wednesday my friend. XXOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Of course I meant the circles on the card, not the envelopes. I need to proof read my comments before submitting them. DUH!

    2. Hey Grace!
Yes, she does have a very good point! I can’t believe that it’s already May! But I did wish away the Winter!
I would love to visit a butterfly farm! My mum loves butterflies, I think that’s why I use them so much! I will have to put that on one of my places to visit!
I’m happy that you enjoyed the card! I love the idea of the envelopes!
It was a little gloomy and drizzly here but not too cold. People never use common sense unfortunately. You would think that after all of that snow we had the earth would still be damp! I hope that you have a great vacation but what am I going to do without you for two weeks?!?! ๐Ÿ™

  5. Justin, I love your tag and your card too! I am so “In love” with butterflies; anything nature-like is right up my alley. The colors are gorgeous. And it’s funny, I’m going to convention this year and thought I would make book marks or tags instead of a card for swaps. Your card is darling! I love all the different envelopes and that washi tape is perfect as an add on. Thanks for the inspiration! Enjoy your day, and I’m with everyone else. The older you get, the faster the time goes. I work part time now, and seem to have LESS time to craft! Why is that? If you’re going to convention, I will scout you out and say hi!

    1. Thank you Bobbi! I really did have a lot of fun making the tag! I love to get to do something completely different! I think that tags for a swap would be an awesome idea! Glad that you enjoyed the card too! I think that the envelopes in that set are cute and the perfect size! I hope that you had a nice day! Unfortunately, I don’t think that I will ba able to afford Convention this year. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Love.love, love both of these. I am so in love with anything Tim Holtz, he is so talented! LOL too many crafty ideas in your head, send them to me.

    1. Yay! Thank you Linda! I am coming to appreciate Tim’s stuff a lot more! He is quite clever! I am sending the craft ideas to you! I hope that you get them! ๐Ÿ™‚
