Now that was a long day yesterday! It rained here in the morning and then was nice and sunny by the afternoon. I left work at 3:00 and got the 3:44 train into Manhattan. Not surprisingly it was late! LOL! I did get to Isabella’s around 5:00. She was going thorough a bunch of things that she had brought back from her mum’s house in Italy and gave me some of them. Really lovely things that are just wonderful. I’m going to use some of them in my pictures and I’ll let you know when I do. It was great to see her as always and I can’t thank her enough for the beautiful treasures that she gave me! Taylor picked me up from the train and by the time I got home it was 11:00. Like I said, a very long day, but a good one none the less!
Before I get to today’s post I have some extremely exciting news! In the morning, one of the first things that I do is go on Twitter. As I was scrolling through my feed this morning I see a Tweet from Alison Barclay congratulating me on my Mojo Monday Design Team appointment! What?!?! I almost dropped the phone! Sure enough I went to the Mojo Monday blog and there it is… my card from last week congratulating me! CRAZY?! I’m so very honored to have been chosen! I can’t believe it! Thank you Julee!! I can’t wait to get started! ๐
Now for today’s card,ย I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch challenge…
I used some new goodies from the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece is Watermelon Wonder and on the right is a piece of paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped the candles from the Sprinkles of Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Watermelon Wonder on the right and then adhered a piece of Pool Party 1/4′ Cotton Ribbon around the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Some more is tied into a bow and adhered with a Glue Dot. A piece of Crushed Curry and a piece of Cucumber Crush are punched out with the Banner Punch and adhered under the ribbon with SNAIL. The square is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares and adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The cupcake is also from the Sprinkles of Life Set along with the greeting. I heat embossed the bottom in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Silver Foil Sheet and the top is stamped in Jet Black Staz-On onto some Vellum. I also heat embossed the sprinkles in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To get the puffy white look I used the Stampin’ Pierce Mat and the Simply Scored Stylus on the back in a circular motion. The bottom is adhered with SNAIL and the top with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. Myย happy birthday is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Cucumber Crush that I flagged the ends on and adhered with some Foam Tape. To finish off the card I adhered three Recollections Enamel Dots. I really do love that Sprinkles of Life Set and don’t forget that for each one sold Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the design team has done to inspire you! Thank you so much for your visit today, have a wonderful Wednesday! ๐

Wow! Congrats on the MOJO Monday Design Team spot! Love your card too! It’s fun and happy and makes me want a cupcake or maybe even a little coconut cake! lol ๐
Thank you Tina! So excited about Mojo! LOL! Glad that you like the cake and the card! ๐
I knew I liked that card! This card is another winner. I like the puffy icing on the cupcake and happy to know it was so easy.
๐
Thank you so much Nancy! It’s a cool technique! ๐
Congrats on the Mojo Monday! That card is one of my favorites too. Today’s cake looks luscious. How did it last long enough to be a photo prop? Is it real or just real looking plaster? I can’t wait to see what Isabella bestowed upon you! Aren’t you fortunate to have such a lovely friend! Is she the one who lives overlooking Central Park? Didn’t you take photos? Have a great HumpDay! Nancy B
Thanks so much Nancy! I’m so excited! Glad that you like today’s card! The cake is actually terry cloth! Pretty cool huh?! I am very fortunate to have such lovely friends! The Central Park one is Ella! Hope you had a nice Wednesday! ๐
I forgot to mention your card today — too involved salivating over the cake! You always have such great tips like rubbing the stylist over the back of a piece to make it appear 3D. Thanks for the tip! I like the banners and background candles too. I can’t wait to get the tree punch and the Sprinkles stamp set. The Ronald McDonald House is one of the best things going for families with children who need hospital care. Doing my little part of the planet…Nancy B
LOL! Thanks so much! I like the technique, it’s adds a a lot without a lot of work! The Sprinkles and Tree Punch are two of my faves! I love that it’s helps RMHC too! ๐
WooHoo!!! Congratulations Justin!! You certainly deserved to be picked for the Mojo team. I’m so glad your talent is being officially recognized!!
Great cupcake card! I love that set too. In fact, I’m going to have a card class based on that set.
Thank you so much Gerri! I am so excited to be joining them! Glad you enjoyed the card! It’s such neat stamp set!! ๐
Congratulations Justin on making the MM design team!!! Love your work, really beautiful card today too!
Thanks very much Carolina! ๐
Good Morning Justin:
It’s been quite a while since you made a bow and put it on a card. You make such perfect bows! Love the card and the more I look at it the more intricate it gets. How are you liking the new tear & tape adhesive? You seem to use Fun Foam a lot – how does that affect mailing? I guess I’ve grilled you enough for today huh? LOL
So exciting that you have been selected for the Mojo Monday design team. That is going to be a lot of fun and everyone that is on the team is so uber talented! Glad the selection committee was smart enough to choose you. When do you start?
How awesome that Isabella gave you things from Italy! They will be treasures I’m sure and you are very lucky to have a friend that treats you so well. Having company for dinner tonight so I’ll spend the afternoon cooking…………..my favorite things to do – NOT! Have a Happy Hump Day. Hugs and more! ๐
Hi Grace!
Yes, I don’t really like bows! LOL! It’s the fork that helps with the bows! I’m glad that you like the card! I do like the tear and tape adhesive, just like scor-tape! The Fun Foam actually makes the card a lot sturdier without adding much weight! I’m happy to answer all of you inquiries!
I am soooooooo excited that I got chosen for Mojo Monday! The team is amazing! I’m not sure when I start, but I can’t wait!
Isabella is a wonderful person! I love the things that she gave me! I hope that you enjoyed your company! XOXO ๐
Congratulations on being chosen for Mojo Design Team. Well deserved! I don’t know which I like best. The coconut cake or the card! Thank you for the tip on using the stylus to produce a dimensional look. Perfect for a cupcake since no cupcake is flat! Enjoy your day!
Kathy
Thank you so much Kathy! I can’t wait to start! You know how I love my props! Spot glad that you enjoyed the post today! Hope that you had a good day too! ๐
Whoo Hoo!!! Congratulations on being selected as a Mojo Monday design team member. Great honor and VERY well deserved! Your card designs are always amazing and creative.
Thank you Dana! I’m so excited! ๐

Thank you Lynne! Lots going on but all good! Glad that you like the card too! ๐
Great news on you getting selected for MM . You have all kinds of excitement going on these days .
Like this card …really cute . Also think your slice of Cherry Towel pie is eye catching too !!
Yes Sonny! So happy about being on Mojo Monday! I do have lots going on, but all of it’s great! Glad you like the card! You knew what the prop was too! ๐
Congrats on the Mojo Monday appointment!! Love your card…also like your slice of cake prop!! Thanks for sharing
sorry, I also meant to ask where you buy your 110lb Neenah cardstock. I saw some at Office Max and Staples this week and almost bought some. (thank you)
I get my Neenah 110lb from PaperWorks.com MaryJo! ๐
Thank you on all fronts MaryJo! I really am so excited to start Mojo! ๐
Hey Justin, congratulations!! How exciting to be chosen – I can see why they would pick you! Something to fill your “spare time” lol ๐ Cute card today, I think I am going to love that watermelon colour. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Manhattan and got some pressies too! I’d better get moving and ready for work, our oven blew up last night, we had to have take away… Need to buy a new oven today, I wonder if that will improve my cooking? I won’t hold my breath, lol! Cheers Justin ๐ xoxo
Thank you Kelly! I can’t believe that Julee picked me! LOL! Yes, spare time, I have loads of it! I do love all of the new In-Colors! Manhattan is always fun! Oh no! That doesn’t sound good! I have had many different ovens and I’m sorry to say I still cook the same! LOL! XOXO ๐
Congrats on you appointment to the Mojo Design Team, well deserved!!! Love this creation, I could eat that cupcake, it looks so real
Thank you Linda! I’m a little giddy about the Mojo appointment! Glad that you like the card too! The cake does really look real right?! ๐
WooHoo Justin. Late catching up this week. Big CONGRATS on this latest appointment on the Mojo team. That’s great news. It will help fill all your “spare” time…LOL
Sure a lot going on for you right now, that’s awesome. And so is your card. Love that technique with the vellum but had not yet thought of using it for this set. It’s one thing to know a technique but quite another one to have the creativity and know-how when to use it!
One question about the fun foam: does it not make the card thicker and increase the postage? Here they have those tiny 5mm slot at the Post Office and even a tiny button does not make it through! Congratulations again for SIP and MM!
Thank you very much Louise! I’m so excited to be a part of Mojo Monday! Yes, “spare time” indeed! LOL!
I do have lots going on, but it’s all good stuff! Glad that you enjoyed the card! I thought the vellum technique was fun! I don’t think that it makes that card any thicker than dimensionals, just more sturdy! Thanks again my friend! ๐
Congratulations, Justin! So happy for you!!! I absolutely *LOVE* your blog and your awesome creativity. Thanks so much for sharing your card designs, all your tips, and your resources. I’ve added quite a few things to my stash because of all of the goodies that you use and share. Thanks also for sharing a peek into your life. I really enjoy that personal touch. Cute B*day card, BTW. (I’m getting closer to being caught up on your blog.)
Thank you so much El! I am so happy that I can be a resource and that you enjoy my little adventures! I appreciate that I get to share it all with you! Glad that you like the card! Enjoy the weekend! ๐
