Happy Sunday peeps! Michael’s baby book class at Scrap-A-Latte was fun yesterday! After we were finished there we stopped back at my house to pick up a few things and then made our way towards Manhattan. I dropped Michael off in Astoria so he could meet his friend Marcia for dinner. I then headed over the 59th Street Bridge to Kim’s apartment on 63rd and I was lucky enough to get a parking space pretty much right across the street! Score! I took the stuff up to the apartment and then went for a little walk. When I got back I put on the TV for a bit and then went and met Michael at the 59th Street Subway. On the way back to the apartment we stopped for some Pinkberry frozen yogurt. This morning was another lazy one and now we are at The Ink Pad. A pretty good weekend so far!
So, today’s card uses one of my favorite sets, it’s a “Vintage” one but I still love it! My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder on Blushing Bride and adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The cake and wreath are from that favorite set, the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used a piece of Solar White 80lb and some Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue Ink with the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to give the paper that fadedย look. The image is then heat embossed in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder and cut out with my Paper Snips. The wreath is also heat embossed but on Vellum and cut out with a die from Dies By Dave. I adhered the wreath with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and the cake with Foam Tape. I used some more of the inked paper to cut out the Simon Says Stamp Painted Enjoy. It’s cut out three more times from white and then adhered together with more Multi-Purpose Glue and then to the card. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins completes today’s card. I really do still love the Your Perfect Day Set, especially that wreath! Thank you very much for stopping by to see me today! I hope that you have a super Sunday! ๐

What a pretty card! I like that you made the wood grain in pink. I will to have to try something like this soon. I can’t believe how much you guys do in the course of three weeks! I would be flat on my back for days after only one day out with you. I think that’s why I love to live vicariously through you, especially going through New York! Oh, how I miss NY and especially my youth! Enjoy what’s left of Sunday…I’ve already driven my husband to the airport, shopped at Costco ($400 worth), repackaged hamburgers and steaks (New York strip, what else would I get?), planned Chinese take-out with my son for later, and now here I am. I’m going to go rest up for dinner! Remember — tomorrow is NOT Monday; it’s just a day. I hope yours is pleasant! I’m getting a new roof due to storm damage. What a way to spend Monday! Love ya, Nancy B Hi Michael, Andrew, and Taylor!
Thank you very much Nancy! I think that woodgrain looks cool in any color! LOL! I have been a busy boy but it has been the best summer of my life! I’m happy that I get to share little bits of what I do with you! Sounds like you had a busy day!! We are busy just in different ways! My Monday was actually not too bad. Michael, Andrew and Taylor all say hello back to you! ๐
Good afternoon Justin:
My, my – another busy totally fun weekend for you. Like Nancy, you wear me out just reading about all you manage to squash into a single day. I too would like to have some of my youth back just to attempt to keep up with you! LOL
Love the colors in this card. So many uses for the stamp set – birthday, wedding, baby congratulations. Of course in my world you don’t need an excuse for cake but just an excuse for a fancy cake. I wish they made edible sequins. Wouldn’t that be a hoot to use to decorate cakes.
Enjoy the day. It’s way too hot and humid for me here today so I’ve got the A/C roaring and will sit and watch the race at 2:30. That will make me even lazier than I am right now. Love & Hugs from hot and humid Maine…………XO ๐
Hi Grace!
Yes! Another busy but awesome weekend! I find that when I don’t do enough I get tired! LOL! I’m sure that you both would be able to keep up! We should find out one day!
Thank you! I thought that the card made a good birthday/wedding card. I actually think that they do make edible sequins! Yum! Sparkly and delicious!
I hope that you enjoyed your day despite the humidity. I have to say that I have decided that I don’t like the winter at all anymore and would be quite happy with temp like this all year long! Sorry! Love and hugs to you Grace! Michael says hello too! XOXOXO ๐
Interesting color combo, especially for the woodgrain, love it! i’m exhausted reading about your adventures. Its in the upper 90’s here and humid as *&^%. Not complaining as I know that summer is winding down.
Trying to get ahead of my postings for my design team, its a constant struggle but fun. Trying to use my new products
Thanks so much Linda! I do love my woodgrain! LOL! I am loving the heat and the sunshine! I will be bummed again when Winter rears it’s ugly head.
I am always rushing to get stuff done, I feel your pain! But I need to have my summer fun so I’ll deal with it for now! ๐
Sounds like you can make any day a perfect one. This is one of the stamp sets I didnt purchase and wish I had.
Why thank you Stella! It’s all in the company that I keep! I love that stamp set! I’ll never get rid of it! ๐
