I have lots of issues this time of year choosing the right coat to wear! Today it was a little on the cool side and I just wore my Columbia Fleece, I was cold! I think I need to rethink my layers! It was good to be back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store today. I got some of my to do list accomplished and a few projects completed. I also got a very nice surprise for lunch! Heather stopped by with Pizza! She is so good to me! It was nice to get to see her at the store and we had a nice leisurely lunch and then we ran over to the Dollar Tree so she could get some paper goods for Christmas. I snuck out a little early so I could get to my Parent’s and see my little Daniel! He finished his dinner while I had mine and then we played with his train and some old wooden blocks. Every time I would build a tower he would knock it down and laugh! He really does have the best laugh! My brother took him home around 7:30 and I came home to find Taylor binging on Grey’s Anatomy. She asked if ate and I said that I had and if she wanted some food to go next door so she did. Heather came by around 7:45 to get me so I could go and run a few errands with her. We stopped at Starbucks to get my fave, a Soy Holiday Spice Flat White – No Foam. She has become as addicted to them as I am! A little Heather time is always a nice way to end the day! Today I have a lot of catching up to do at the store and I will get it done! π
It’s Tuesday so that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge! This week we have an Embossing Theme…
I actually started this card a little over a week ago and finished it last night! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Lawn Fawn Blue Jay Card Stock and used the Concord & 9th Joy Die to cut out the word from the middle. After it was die cut I placed the panel in my Mini MISTI, coated it with my EK Success Powder Tool, put the letters back in and stamped it with the Joy stamp from theΒ ConcordΒ and 9th Joy Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark. Before I sprinkled on some WOW! Metallic Copper Sparkle Embossing Glitter I removed the letters so that just the outline would be embossed. White I was at it I heat embossed the to the to the world under the Joy and to the right. Next I traced the letters onto a piece of Fun Foam and cut out a rectangle with my Craft Knife. I then adhered a piece of Acetate and the Fun Foam to the back of the panel with Scor-Tape adding more Scor-Tape to the back of that. To create my twine bow I cut a piece of Solar White 110lb with my Paper Trimmer to 1/8″ and then used the bow from the Concord & 9th Mistletoe Card Frame Add-On Dies. The two pieces are coated with more Versa-Mark and sprinkled with more of the Copper Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat embossed. I used my Quickie Glue Pen to adhered the strip and a Glue Dot to adhered the bow. The well I created is filled with some Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold and Cobalt Sequins and the panel is adhered to the card base. We all know how I love a shaker and how cool is that WOW! Embossing Powder, especially on the Blue Jay Card Stock?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Embossing Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the creative Design Team’s cards! We hope that you will take some time and make a card and play along with us! Thanks very much for your visit! Hi Justin!
Such a fun Shaker Card!! Love it! So many sequins… π
Hello Gerri!
Thank you! Yes, the well I created was pretty big so I got to fill it up! π
Love this card on so many aspects! The colors, the layout and of course the sequins. Maybe one of my all time faves!
π
Thank you very much Nancy! Yay!! I like the blue and copper, one of my current favorite combos! π
Wow! Justin, this is a stunning card, plus it’s a shaker!! I’m going to CASE it today. What a great technique to cut out the letters, then put them back and stamp over it to be able to emboss the edges. How clever!! I love my Joy die and stamp set and now I have a new way of using it. This is over the top beautiful. Have a wonderful day. We’re getting some much needed rain today and tomorrow.
Thank you so much HJ! Wow! You must really like it if you are going to CASE it! Yay! Love the Joy Stamp and Dies too! I think it’s so cool the way that the stamp leaves the outline! I hope that you have a great day! Raining here for the next two days! π
What a card full of “joy”! I like this!
Thanks Carol!! π
Hi Justin:
Well you just know I oh and ah over every shaker card you make but this one got extra ohs and ahs for sure! The way you got the glitter on the outside of the Joy letters is absolutely brilliant! How did you ever think of that? Also using glitter and sequins on the same card is enough to make me do my happy dance! This card is not only beautiful but has a degree of excitement in it. I wonder if it’s because if I’m at the casino and one of my friends gets a big hit I make them get up and do the “dance of JOY”.? LOL We may be a little “off” but we sure have a lot of fun.
You have yourself a terrific Tuesday and ignore this dreary weather we are having. Hey, it sure beats the weather in Tennessee where fires are burning out of control. Love and hugs to you my friend. XXOO π
Hello Grace!
Thank you!! These little ideas just creep into my head! LOL! It definitely sparkly, but not too sparkly! I’m sure that it’s a good time when you are at the Casio!! Everyone should be doing more dances of joy!!
I had a nice day sans that leaky roof! I would definitely rather the rain than the fires that’s for sure! Love and hugs to you too! XOXO π
eyepopping! love this shaker card, the copper sparkles against the blue.
Thanks so much Lynne! π
You are so talented! I love your creativity!
Thank you so much Teresa!! I appreciate that! π
WOW is right! I love this card and I love the WOW embossng powders, especially the metallic. what a clever idea with the die cuts to just emboss tghe outside. I really need some of your creative brain cells.
LOL, I never know how to dress anymore, our weather is trying to hang on to fall but we are losing fast. I guess I need to break out that coat very soon. I’m always cold. At least we had sunshine today!
Thank you Linda! Yes, the WOW! EP’s are so nice!! I will see if I can send you some creative cells with your next order! LOL!
I’m a disaster when it come to picking what to wear! I don’t know what happened to me! I have had the coat and roasted. Today, sweatshirt and I’m freezing! Sigh… I hope that we have sunshine tomorrow! It’s pouring here again! π
