After a rain soaked week it was nice to see the sun yesterday! The garbage pails finally stopped filling up at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store around 12:30! So nice not to hear dripping water all day! I worked on an Ornament Class that I will be having at the store on December 12th. I’ll share the project here over the weekend so you guys can see what we are going to make too! After work I came home and had dinner with my Parents and Taylor. After dinner I stopped home quick before heading over to Heather’s. She was watching her Nephew so he was there when I got there. He is a nice quiet little boy and watched TV most of the time. Her Brother-in-Law came by to get him around 8:00 and her and I watched some TV and had a few snacks! Today I’ll be working on some more kits for the Holidays and finishing up my cards for this month’s class! I love my job! 😀
I also made my card for today while I was at the store yesterday and it’s for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…
I really had fun making the Lawn Fawn Kit so I played with the stamps that I used in it again for today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Stackables to cut out a window from a piece of Solar White 80lb and also from a piece of Fun Foam. I stamped the falling snow from the Lawn Fawn Snow Cool Photopolymer Stamp Set in Merman Ink onto the panel and another piece of Solar White 80lb. To the back of the front panel I adhered a piece of Acetate and the Fun Foam. My images are from the same set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored in with Copics and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered them to the solid stamped panel with E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares and then added some Crystal Coarse Glitter to the well in the front panel and adhered the back panel to it. The whole thing is then adhered to the card base. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders to cut another piece of Solar White 80lb, stamped my greeting from the Lawn Fawn Merry Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Merman and adhered the piece to the card front with more E-Z Runner. Not an overly complicated shaker card and I do love the little penguins and snow-penguin in the set! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Oh Justin – today’s card is just too freakin’ cute! You know I love seeing your shaker cards and putting the snowy “hill” in front of the shaker portion is perfect. I also love the font on this particular card. Just such a beautifully fun card in all. As usual, great card and also as usual, it brings a smile to my face which is how I like to start my days.
The sun is shining today so I want to thank you for sending it our way. Temps. will be in the 40’s so that is pretty great considering it’s December. I’m waiting for the hubs to return from his trip to CT to attend a funeral. I think he should have stayed another day because heading north on a Friday usually means a ton of traffic. The same holds true for heading south on a Sunday. That is why I choose to travel on weekdays. You have yourself a fantastic Friday my friend. What a great take on today’s challenge, Justin. I love the shaker scene and using the coarse glitter is so much fun. I like the ink color Merman too. It’s so refreshing and can be all year round. I’m glad to hear the dripping has stopped in the store. It’s chilly and windy, but sunny, which always gives me energy! Have a great day.
